Best of the Day:
Greyhound: #5 Acid Test
Odds: $2.60
Race: Warragul, Race 5 [8:05pm AEST]
Trainer: Brett Mackie
Form: 31311
Why it's our pick: After witnessing Acid Test's massive win last time out at Warragul, I'm convinced he's one to watch closely again. And even though he is stepping out from box 5 for the first time, I genuinely believe this dog has the prowess to navigate this new obstacle, and that he is primed for another top finish!
So, while some might see the unfamiliar box position as a hurdle, I reckon this champ has all the tools to tackle it head-on and still come out shining. Here's to hoping we witness another spectacular run from Acid Test!

Next Best of the Day:
Greyhound: #3 Whiskey Gambles
Odds: $2.10
Race: Cannington, Race 2 [9:24pm AEST]
Trainer: Anthony Scott
Form: 21
Why it's our pick: Cannington R2 sees Whiskey Gambles stepping up, and for all the right reasons if you ask me! Having delivered a standout debut, this greyhound demonstrated sheer agility, darting out of the gates and sealing a victory in a swift 16.28 over 275m at this track.
And in my view, that performance wasn't a one-off; but rather, it was a testament to his potential. So, with a flawless record so far and no obstacles seeming too big, I reckon Whiskey Gambles is primed to notch up another win, and hence, it's no wonder I'm backing him as my next best bet of the day!
Roughie of the Day:
Greyhound: #2 Velocity Cora
Odds: $8.00 | $1.75
Race: Warragul, Race 5 [4:19pm AEST]
Trainer: Larry Franks
Form: 548444
Why it's our pick: Now, I know she's had a bit of a rough patch with an unplaced 431m run back in May, but don't let that deter you! This gal is capable of bolting out of the gates with a swift start. And while she's clinched fourth in her last three outings, her recent performance over 520m on this very track suggests she's a looming danger.
And so, at odds of $8.00 for the win and $1.75 for a place, I reckon she's worth an each-way ticket. Fingers crossed she brings a bit of that underdog magic to the track today!
Multi of the Day:
16:47 - Geelong, Race 5: #3 Set To Jet WIN @ $1.85
17:34 - Horsham, Race 10: #1 Blue Tick Nelson WIN @ $2.00
21:45 - Warragul, Race 10: #3 Invictus Harry WIN @ $2.35
Combined Odds: $8.70
Why it's our pick: Starting off my multi, I've got my eyes on Blue Tick Nelson from Horsham r10. This fella is set to lead and has shown he can put down some swift times. Even with that recent hiccup in Shepparton, finishing behind Aston Cooper, I still reckon he's got a solid shot at taking the win today.
Next up in Geelong r5, I'm backing Set To Jet. He's been on a roll, particularly with that standout performance in Ballarat where he clocked the fastest win. Growing stronger with every race, I believe Set To Jet is poised to be right up there again!
And in rounding off the trio, I'm taking a punt on Invictus Harry in Warragul r10. True, he's shaking off an injury and didn't shine in his last Sandown outing. But, this greyhound's got talent. If he's back in shape, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets up for the win.
So, in bundling these picks together, my multi boasts a promising combined odds of $8.70, and with that in mind, fingers crossed these greyhounds showcase their best today!
Bonus Pick for the Day:
Greyhound: #1 Canya Revamp
Odds: $2.60
Race: Townsville, Race 5 [8:55pm AEST]
Trainer: John La Rosa
Form: 151421
Why it's our pick: For my 'Bonus Pick of the Day', I'm backing Canya Revamp in Townsville R5.
Last time out, this greyhound put on a stellar show at this very track, galloping to victory over 498m with a slick time of 28.84. Not just a mere win, Canya Revamp trounced the competition, beating Spitfire Rhodes by a clean 2.25 lengths in a Grade 5 race!
And if you're wondering about that time, it was among the quickest on the day's program! Given that fiery performance, I reckon it's wise to stick with this one. At $2.60, Canya Revamp seems poised to impress again!
Bonus Ipswich Multi for the Day:
16:39 - Ipswich, Race 5: #4 Catch A Cobra WIN @ $2.10
17:38 - Ipswich, Race 8: #5 Clear To Pass WIN @ $1.95
18:55 - Ipswich, Race 12: #1 Spring Oak PLACE @ $1.28
Combined Odds: $4.99
Why it's our pick: Starting off my 'Ipswich Multi', I've got my eyes set on Catch A Cobra in Ipswich r5. This greyhound made quite the statement on its debut, tearing up the track in a swift time, making it a must-include for me. After a blazing run over 431m in just 25.25, winning by a remarkable 5.5 lengths, I genuinely believe Catch A Cobra has the potential to replicate that win!
Moving on, in Ipswich r8, I'm backing Clear To Pass. This one has shown quite an affinity for the 520m at Ipswich. With two wins already under its belt from box five, and considering the competition in the field, I reckon Clear To Pass has what it takes to lead and snatch another victory.
And lastly, for Ipswich r12, I'm hedging my bets with Spring Oak to place. Last time out, this greyhound showcased some tenacity, holding onto second from start to finish. Given its performance and the advantageous box one draw, I'm feeling optimistic about its chances to land in the top spots again.
So, with combined odds of $4.99, this Ipswich Multi could be the trifecta we've been waiting for! Let's hope our selections can pull through!
