Boombet Review

BoomBet Australia, formerly known as, has been an established Aussie bookmaker since the late 1990s. This experience under their belt has allowed them to produce a solid all-round offering that has many positive aspects such as their customer service, their betting odds and even just the general experience users have while using their platform! But of course, just like with every other bookie out there, Boombet is with some drawbacks to their overall offering as well, but ultimately these drawbacks will vary in significance depending on the type of punter you are!

And so, with this in mind, let’s get into this Boombet review!

Boombet full review

While I wouldn’t personally be labelling BoomBet as a household name just yet, their founding company has been around since the late 90s and with that comes vast experience in the Australian betting industry.

For starters, I have found that the BoomBet sign-up process is quite a streamlined and simple one! The whole onboarding process should only take a couple of minutes and everything is clearly explained in terms of what you need to do as a user who is signing up.

And once you have created your account, I am sure you might be curious to explore the BoomBet app or website.

Well, in my experience I have found the website to be quite an impressive one! Users are greeted with a sleek homepage, like in the screenshot below, that can take you anywhere you want to go on the site in a matter of seconds. I have found that the BoomBet site is easy to navigate through and loading times are quick, and in addition to this, I have also rarely experienced the website lagging or crashing.

And in a similar fashion, I believe the BoomBet app is also a great offering that this bookie has! Just like the website, the BoomBet app is easy to navigate through and, in my view, the user interface and experience are at quite a high level. You are greeted with a similar homepage on the app, albeit on a smaller scale to cater for the smaller screens of mobile devices.

All in all, I think both the website and the Boombet app are at quite a high standard, and I believe this is an increasingly important offering to have down pact considering many rival bookies out there are striving to provide users with a good platform experience.

Moving on, in terms of sports coverage, I would say that BoomBet can be considered good but not amazing in this regard. I mean they have the basics covered with different betting markets for the most common Australian and International sports, such as the AFL, NRL and EPL, however, where I feel they fall short is in their offering of unique sports and advanced features. At the time of writing, BoomBet was missing fairly common betting features such as a cash-out option, and as well as this, they lack markets pertaining to some of the more niche sports and competitions out there.

And with this in mind, it led me to uncover that BoomBet seems to be more focused on its racing offering. I have found that BoomBet features an excellent range of bet types for racing, and as well as this, they provide users with detailed knowledge when it comes to runners that are racing in different events. So, all things considered, while this might not be the best bookie in terms of their sports offering, BoomBet have certainly done well in terms of their racing section of the platform!

And while you might be a bit more across the sports and racing that is offered with BoomBet now, I bet you are still wondering how their betting odds might compare to some of their rivals? Well, in my experience I have found that BoomBet odds are quite competitive across the board, and of course, this is a big tick in their favour!

So now that you are across a lot of the basics with BoomBet Australia, let's talk about the banking options with this bookie!

In terms of depositing, users are presented with a few different options here including a debit/credit card option, POLi, BPay and a bank transfer option, whereas for withdrawals, this can only be done through a bank transfer, and typically takes 1-3 business days to be completed. While I would say these selections are toward the lower end of the pack in terms of the Aussie betting scene, it is nonetheless good to see that the basics are covered here with BoomBet!

Moving on, I have found that the customer support offering with BoomBet Australia is quite an impressive one! BoomBet features the two most utilised customer support options in a live chat function and a phone support line. As well as this, BoomBet also provides users with a fairly unique support service in that users can seek help via BoomBet social media accounts like Twitter and Facebook. And of course, for those more convoluted and longer questions or inquiries, BoomBet provides users with an email support option.

So, in taking this all into account, I believe the BoomBet customer support offering is quite good, and this is only enhanced by my friendly and helpful encounters with support agents. I will note, however, that all of these support options are available from 8am to 10:30pm, seven days a week, so I think there is definitely room for improvement in terms of their availability in this space!
Lastly, I feel it necessary to mention some of the key drawbacks I have come across when undertaking this BoomBet review. Unfortunately, BoomBet is without any live streaming or live betting services, and while I don’t think this is a dealbreaker for all punters out there, it is nonetheless a key absence from the overall BoomBet offering. Adding to this, while far from the worst in the industry, BoomBet can certainly improve its offering and versatility in terms of sports and betting markets, something that is a focus for many of its competitors out there.

Nonetheless, however, I think BoomBet Australia is a solid bookie with a nice all-around offering and I think many punters out there will be quite satisfied if they decide to bet with BoomBet!

Notable BoomBet Rankings

  • Betting Variety★★★★: Quite a decent offering here! BoomBet has a range of sports and racing to punt on, however, some additional markets for some of the more niche sports might be a worthwhile move.
  • Platform Experience★★★★:A great platform experience both on the website and app! It is a quick and easy process to locate specific functions and features on the BoomBet platform, and I have rarely experienced any lagging or crashing either.
  • Customer Support★★★★★: A more than solid offering here! Users can get in contact with support on any day of the week, from 8am to 10:30pm. Support can be reached via live chat, phone and email support, or through one of BoomBet social media accounts and I have found agents to be both friendly and helpful!
  • Banking Options★★★: A decent offering here in my opinion without being industry-leading. I believe that BoomBet covers the basics quite well in this space, however, there is definitely room to expand upon their banking options, specifically in terms of withdrawing.
  • Payout Speed★★★★: I have found that BoomBet is decent in this space. In most cases, users should see funds processed within 1-3 business days, however, considerations like whom you are banking with may impact withdrawal processing times.
  • Security★★★★★: No problems here! BoomBet is licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory government.

An Overview of BoomBet Advantages and Drawbacks

I have provided a little overview here for you to see the different advantages and drawbacks that the BoomBet overall offering features, based on my personal opinions.

👍BoomBet Key Advantages:

  • Fixed Odds: As was the case with BoomBet’s predecessor, they too have followed suit in ensuring that betting odds offered on their site are at a good standard. I have personally found that odds offered by BoomBet sit somewhere toward the top half of bookies across Australia.
  • Platform Experience: In my view, both the website and the BoomBet app are of a high standard. I have found it to be quite a quick and easy process to navigate through the platform and I have also rarely experienced any lagging or crashing when using either the app or website.
  • Customer support options: I believe BoomBet customer support is a nice advantage for BoomBet. They feature a live chat function, phone support and email support, all of which are operational from 8am to 10:30pm. On top of this, I have found that BoomBet support agents are, for the most part, friendly and helpful.

👎BoomBet Key Drawbacks:

  • No Live Betting: At the time of writing, BoomBet does not offer a live betting service. In an  Aussie betting environment where punters are increasingly fascinated by the concept of live betting, it is, unfortunately, a notable drawback against the overall BoomBet offering.
  • No Live Streaming: Unfortunately, BoomBet Australia is without a live streaming offering. This is a drawback to their overall offering considering it is something that some of their key competitors currently feature across their platforms, and as well as this, punters are increasingly interested in a bookie providing a service like this.
  • Lacking Extensive Sports Markets: While I would not class this as a dealbreaker per se, BoomBet’s lack of versatility in their sporting markets offered, particularly for the more niche sports, is nonetheless a drawback on their overall offering.

👨‍⚖️BoomBet Summary & Verdict

Conclusively, while there are some notable drawbacks against the overall BoomBet offering, I personally believe that, in an overarching sense, the BoomBet bookie is quite a good one! At the end of the day, the importance of these advantages and drawbacks will ultimately vary depending on you as a punter and what you value most when it comes to the betting experience!

BoomBet App & Mobile Experience

The mobile offering is, in my opinion, quite an impressive one with BoomBet Australia! Users can download the BoomBet app on either an iOS or an Android device from the App Store or Google Play Store respectively.

Once you have downloaded the Boombet app and logged into your account, users will hereafter be greeted with a homepage like in the screenshot below. As you can see here, the homepage looks quite sleek and it has been designed so that it is easy for punters to find exactly what they are looking for when on the app.

And while there are certainly other bookies out there that might have a more exhaustive offering in terms of their mobile betting app, I nonetheless believe that BoomBet has a more than solid offering in this space! I have found loading times to be rather quick and importantly, I have rarely experienced any lagging or crashing when using the Boombet app.

Overall, I believe that BoomBet has done well in terms of its mobile offering, and I think punters will be quite satisfied whenever surfing through the app!

Important Features with BoomBet Australia

Fixed Betting Odds

The odds on offer with a bookie are always an important consideration for punters when it comes to deciding on which bookmaker is the most suitable for them! In the case of BoomBet Australia, I have personally found that the odds are at quite a good level!

In terms of BoomBet’s racing odds specifically, well I have found this offering to be somewhat unique. Their odds here go to the nearest $0.05 rather than the nearest $0.5 or $0.2 as is the case with many other bookmakers. And while I wouldn’t class their odds as industry-leading per se, they are nonetheless toward the top half of Aussie bookies out there!

Platform Experience

I believe that BoomBet Australia has both a solid website and a mobile app! Having browsed through the website quite a bit myself, I have found it to be a fairly simple and streamlined process when it comes to navigating from Point A to Point B. As well as this, in my experience, BoomBet loading times are very quick and users can get their punts on with relative ease.

And in a similar vein, I have found that the BoomBet app mimics the website quite well, albeit in a scaled-down version to cater for the smaller screen of a mobile device. I haven’t experienced a lot of lagging or crashing while using the BoomBet app, and just like the website, I find it quite a fast and easy process to navigate through the app. All in all, I think the platform offering is quite impressive with BoomBet, and it is something that I believe should keep punters satisfied in the long run!

Customer Support Offering

I have found the customer service offering with BoomBet Australia to be quite solid! The support offering features both a live chat function and a phone support line, and I have personally found these options to be the best when it comes to seeking a quick answer or resolution to a question or query.

As well as this, BoomBet also features an email support option which can be particularly handy if a user needs to send over a file or document. Interestingly, BoomBet also provides users with the opportunity to get in touch via Facebook or Twitter and I believe this is quite unique so it is definitely a tick in their favour!

All of these support options are available each day of the week from 8am to 10:30pm, and while these operating hours should be satisfactory for most, there is nonetheless room for growth in this regard. Overall, however, I think BoomBet have a more than solid offering in this space, and the willingness of agents to be kind and helpful is always a big positive!

BoomBet Sports Offering

At the time of writing, BoomBet Australia features 17 different sports on their platform which users can punt on, and these can be accessed via the right-hand tab on the website or the bottom tab on the BoomBet app. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that there are a fair few different bookies out there that offer quite a few more sports in this space, however, BoomBet still covers a respectable amount in my opinion, sitting somewhere in the middle of the pack.

I have found that BoomBet offers virtually all the most popular sports out there, whether they are Aussie-based or international-based. These sports include Aussie staples like Aussie Rules footy and Rugby League, as well as the more internationally covered sports like soccer and basketball, for example.

What I have noticed is that while the competitions and leagues on offer in these sports are pretty exhaustive, unfortunately, the range and extensiveness of markets available are not at the same level. For instance, while there are plenty of different soccer leagues available to punt on with BoomBet, the number of markets for each league varies as we see a comp like the EPL with plenty of markets while a competition like Belgium Pro League is with much less.
Overall, I believe that Boombet has a decent offering in this space, but there is certainly room for improvement. The addition of some of the more niche sports out there, as well as the inclusion of more markets for some of the less popular leagues and competitions out there, could go a long way to ensuring BoomBet have a top offering in this space!

BoomBet Racing Offering

I have found that the racing coverage with Boombet is more than decent and if you want to locate this on their platform then simply head to the top right-hand corner on their website or to the bottom left-hand corner of the BoomBet app.

Once you have found the racing section of the BoomBet platform, next you will need to find a specific race or event. As you can see in the screenshot below, there will be a variety of different races you will be able to punt on, so ultimately, it will be up to you to find the event you are interested in, albeit an Australian or an International one!

And after locating the specific event and race that you are interested in, it’s now time to get a punt on! As you can see in the screenshot below, there are a few different types of bets that punters can explore when betting on racing with BoomBet. Punters can go down the route of the more traditional betting approaches like a win or place a bet, or alternatively, they can explore some of the more exotic markets like a quinella or trifecta.

Moreover, something I have found particularly positive about the racing offering with BoomBet is their willingness to supply punters with all sorts of information about different runners such as their records, recent form, their speed map and much more!

Adding onto this, in my experience, I have found that the racing odds with Boombet are quite decent! I will note as well that BoomBet positions their odds to the nearest $0.05 as opposed to the nearest $0.5 or $0.2 for the shorter-priced horses. This is in contrast to most bookies out there and I personally think that this subtle point of difference is a positive one!

All in all, I believe that the racing offering with BoomBet Australia is quite decent and I definitely feel as though it should keep racing enthusiasts out there fairly satisfied!

Live Chat Function [8am - 10:30pm]Accesible via the BoomBet app or website
Social Media Support [8am - 10:30pm]Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Twitter

There almost always comes a point in time where a punter will need to get in contact with a bookie’s customer support. In the case of BoomBet Australia, this can be done through a few different approaches on any day of the week between 8am and 10:30pm.

For most punters out there, I would say that either a live chat function or phone support is the most common means to get in contact with a support agent. With BoomBet, both of these options are available and this, of course, is a tick in their favour! Users often want a quick and easy resolution to their question or query so having these support options available is a must, in my opinion, and with that in mind – kudos to BoomBet!

As well as these options, BoomBet also feature email support, and I have found that this can especially come in handy for those more convoluted or extended questions or problems. And lastly, BoomBet has a somewhat unique offering in this space as they allow punters to get in contact with support via different social media platforms. I think this is another tick in their favour as, in my view, it is always great to see innovative and unique ideas being introduced to such a competitive market and space.

All in all, I think BoomBet have done a great job in this space, and the fact that I have often found agents to be super friendly and helpful is just an added bonus on top of this already impressive customer support offering. While I would say that the extension of support operating hours could be a way for BoomBet to expand in this space, I nonetheless think this is a more than positive support offering!

BoomBet Banking & Payment

DepositingCredit/Debit Card, BPAY, Bank Transfer
WithdrawingBank Transfer

Now that you are across a lot of the nitty-gritty information when it comes to this bookie, I am sure you might be wondering about the banking options and processes with BoomBet Australia. Well, in my experience I would say that the BoomBet banking offering is decent, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Users can deposit via a few different methods and I believe that BoomBet has covered the basics pretty well here. The widely-used credit/debit card deposit option is available with BoomBet and if you use this then, in my experience, funds should show up in your BoomBet account instantly. And as well as this, BoomBet also offers a Bank Transfer and a BPAY option in this space, and while this variety is good, I would personally love to see a couple more options here like an Apple Pay or a PayPal one, for example!

In terms of withdrawals, though, users are only provided with a bank transfer option here. Of course, this is the most common approach to withdrawing with a bookie, however, like with BoomBet depositing, it would be good to see more variety in this space. And in terms of withdrawal processing times, I have found that BoomBet is pretty decent in this regard! Withdrawals will typically take 1-3 business days to show up in your nominated bank account, however, this may ultimately depend on your bank.

Overall, I believe that the banking options with BoomBet are decent without being amazing. I feel as though Boombet cover the basics fairly well in this space, however, I believe that there is a lot they could do in order to grow and improve upon their banking options
