Best Bet of the Day:
Greyhound: #2 Fitzroy Bale
Odds: $2.50
Race: Warrnambool, Race 3 [4:34pm AEST]
Trainer: Andrea Gurry
Form: 17221
Why it's our pick: I'm placing my best bet on #2 Fitzroy Bale today at winning odds of $2.50, and here's why:
Last time out at Horsham, this guy took off from the start and didn't look back! He clocked in at 23.01 seconds over 410m, outpacing Dundee Smokey and not just by a whisker either. The markets had him pegged for a win, and he didn't disappoint, cruising to a victory that just looked too easy!
And so, I reckon that Fitzroy Bale's blend of a lightning-fast start, a strong finish, as well as his knack for outclassing serious competition has him in with a really, really good chance today. There's something about the way he runs that tells me we're onto a winner here, so fingers crossed we can extend our best bet of the day win streak to 5!

Next Best Bet of the Day:
Greyhound: #2 Roxy Rocker
Odds: $2.25
Race: Hobart, Race 8 [9:31pm AEST]
Trainer: Gary Fahey
Form: 382111
Why it's our pick: #2 Roxy Rocker is my next best bet at odds of $2.25 for the win. She's been on fire lately, bursting out of the gates and taking home the win in her last three races, clocking a notable time of 25.95 on this very track. Additionally, her knack for getting a jump on the competition right from the start has been a key factor in her winning streak.
So, when it is all said and done, I think her consistency and speed are what you look for in a winner, and I'm banking on her to deliver yet again!
Roughie Bet of the Day:
Greyhound: #7 Time Passages
Odds: $6.00 | $1.90
Race: Hobart, Race 1 [7:12pm AEST]
Trainer: Patrick Ryan
Form: 261451
Why it's our pick: Looking at a roughie bet for today, I am quite drawn to #7 Time Passages, who's sitting at $6.00 odds to win and $1.90 for a place.
Her last outing at Launceston over 515m wasn't just good - it was a solid 3.5 lengths ahead of Hot Diggity, clocking in at 30.31. And beyond that, I think it is important to recognise in a more general sense, her recent leap into winning form. It's not every day you see such a turnaround, and at these odds, I believe she's too tempting to pass up!
So, given all of this, I am happy to back Time Passages with an each way bet tonight. Fingers crossed she can get the job done for us!
Bonus Best Pick for the Day:
Greyhound: #1 Lektra Layla
Odds: $2.80
Race: Warrnambool, Race 2 [4:15pm AEST]
Trainer: Philip Lenehan
Form: 51261
Why it's our pick: My bonus best pick for today is #1 Lektra Layla, coming in hot at $2.80 odds to win.
Her ability to burst out of the boxes has caught my eye, and last time at Mt Gambier over 400m, she didn't just start fast; she finished strong too, clocking an impressive 23.06 and securing a 2-length victory. It's that kind of speed and stamina that makes me think she's up for back-to-back wins. Oh, and on top of this, I think her box 1 draw is only going to help her in this race, just as it has in the past!
So, why Lektra Layla? Well, simply put, she's got the form, the draw, and the recent performance that spells out winner to me!
Bonus Next Best Pick for the Day:
Greyhound: #3 Mepunga Reward
Odds: $4.00
Race: Sandown Park, Race 6 [8:25pm AEST]
Trainer: Jeffrey Britton
Form: 23511
Why it's our pick: #3 Mepunga Reward, with $4.00 winning odds, has been my 'best of the day bet' in both of his last two outings, and he has not disappointed! And even with a tougher race ahead today, I'm still confident enough to back him again, just not as my top bet!
In looking at his recent form, he has certainly stamped his authority with a handy 2.75 length victory over 515m right here. Plus, what's more, is that he has a staggering 5/5 record at this track, and that makes him that much more appealing to me in this race.
So, given Mepunga Reward's consistent performance and ability to dominate, I think it makes him a strong contender for today's race, and I am more than happy to back him for the win once again!
