Best Bet of the Day:

Greyhound: #8 Suppose
Odds: $2.05
Race: Ipswich, Race 1 [3:06pm AEST]
Trainer: Tom Tzouvelis
Form: -

Why it's our pick: I've got my eyes set on #8 Suppose to WIN at $2.05 for my best bet today! She's from a formidable kennel, and her dam's history of producing several skilled racers gives her an edge. I'm confident she's had her fair share of trials around this circuit, so she's primed to perform well.

Moreover, being a first starter by Wow from Sashay adds to her appeal. The fact that she's from the Tom Tzouvelis kennel is another point in her favour if you ask me. I always like to pay attention to the market trends, and in this case, they indicate that Suppose to WIN is a contender to watch closely, so, when combining all of this, I think she is in with a great chance to get up for the win today!

Next Best Bet of the Day:

Greyhound: #8 Hush Hush
Odds: $2.25
Race: Buli, Race 10 [6:42pm AEST]
Trainer: Sam Sultana
Form: 21

Why it's our pick: I'm backing #8 Hush Hush to WIN at $2.25 as my next best bet of the day. His last outing was impressive – he clinched a solid victory by 2.25 lengths at Richmond over 320m, clocking in at 18.13 and leaving Dawn Magic behind in a Maiden race on December 18. That performance alone makes me confident he's ready for back-to-back wins.

And further to this, I think what really caught my eye was not just the win, but how he handled the 320m distance at Richmond. If he brings that same level of performance to Bulli, I believe he stands a great chance. Hush Hush has shown he can handle the pressure and excel, and that's why he's my pick here!

Bonus Best Pick for the Day:

Greyhound: #1 Purple Car
Odds: $2.10
Race: Townsville, Race 10 [10:59pm AEST]
Trainer: Rhonda Essery
Form: 117211

Why it's our pick: For my bonus best pick of the day, I'm going with #1 Purple Car to WIN at $2.10 odds. She's really caught my attention with her impressive performances in both runs since returning from a short break, especially her ability to take the lead early. This will be her first experience racing from an inside draw, and I'm eager to see how she handles this new challenge. I for one believe she'll be a strong contender once again!

Her last start was particularly noteworthy – winning at this track in a Grade 4 race with a time of 21.95. And now, having the advantage of jumping from box 1 for the first time, she has the right mix of skill and position to make a significant impact, so fingers crossed she can get the job done!

Bonus Next Best Pick for the Day:

Greyhound: #3 Oscar Moses
Odds: $2.30
Race: Richmond Straight, Race 9 [1:54pm AEST]
Trainer: Jason Magri
Form: 212121

Why it's our pick: Now, in looking at my bonus next best pick for the day, I have gone with #3 Oscar Moses to WIN at Townsville race 10 today. He's one of the top straight trackers around, and his performance last week was nothing short of brilliant, winning here in a swift 17.50. If he can replicate that run, I'm confident we'll see him cross the line first again.

His last victory, where he finished 2.5 lengths ahead in a NG over 324m at this track, really showcased his abilities. And so, despite still being a maiden from this draw, his two placements demonstrate his potential, and with that, I reckon Oscar Moses is well suited for today's conditions and stands out as a leading contender!

The Winning Formula – Picking Your Greyhound:

Ready to get the inside track on greyhound betting? Let's dig into the key factors and strategies that can turn a guess into an educated bet. Welcome to the art of picking a winning greyhound!

  • Form: When you're sizing up a Greyhound, one of the first things you should look at is its form. Has the dog been tearing up the track recently, or has it been more of a tail-ender? Recent form can give you a solid indication of a Greyhound's current capabilities.
  • Class: Class refers to the level at which a Greyhound has been competing. A jump in class can mean stiffer competition, while a drop can provide a confidence boost to our four-legged friend.
  • Speed: In Greyhound racing, speed can make all the difference. Pay attention to a dog's sectional times and overall race times to gauge its speed. The fastest dogs are usually the ones crossing the finish line first!
  • Track Bias: Every track has its quirks. Some dogs might perform better on certain tracks due to their running style, track conditions, or weather on race day. So, keep an eye on the track!
  • Race History: How has the dog performed in past races? Has it consistently been a strong contender, or does it have a mixed bag of results? A dog's race history can provide insights into its potential future performance.
  • Betting Odds: The odds reflect the public's opinion of a Greyhound's chances. Lower odds indicate a favourite, while higher odds suggest an underdog. However, don't just follow the crowd - look for value bets where you believe a dog has a better chance than the odds imply!
  • Finding the Value Bets: It's all about comparing your assessment of a Greyhound's chances to the odds on offer. If you believe the odds are higher than they should be based on your evaluation, you've potentially found a value bet.

To bring this all together, let's take a gander at an example. Say we have a Greyhound named 'Thunder Bolt', with a recent form of 1123, showing consistency. He's dropping in class, his sectional times are among the fastest, and he's previously performed well at the upcoming track. His race history is impressive, and the odds on offer for a win are generous. Here, based on our strategy, 'Thunder Bolt' appears to be a strong pick, and a possible value bet.

And always remember, there are no guarantees in betting, but understanding these factors can significantly boost your chances. Happy punting, mate!
