Best of the Day:
Greyhound: Exploded
Odds: $2.05
Race: Sale, Race 5
Trainer: Ian Garland
Form: 23133
Why it's our pick: In recent outings, I have found that Exploded has consistently shown he's a force to be reckoned with on the track! He attracted ample backing in his last 600m race at The Meadows, impressing with a rapid early pace. And although he finished third over there, just 3 lengths off the lead and clocking a time of 34.88, I nevertheless think it's evident that Exploded's form is on an upward trajectory!
I also believe his versatility is another important factor to consider here – as a rising stayer, Exploded possesses the adaptability to either lead the pack or strategically come off the speed.
So, given his recent form and this adaptability, I really do think that he's poised to make a significant impact in today's race, making him my 'best of the day' today!

Roughie of the Day:
Greyhound: #6 Stamp Urgent
Odds: $10.00 | $2.35
Race: Albion Park, Race 3
Trainer: Nathan Evans
Form: 7
Why it's our pick: Stamp Urgent, priced at compelling odds of $10 to win and $2.35 to place, catches the eye as a potential diamond in the rough. Despite a challenging debut, where she remained rearward, finishing seventh at Ipswich 288m on October 5th, there's reason to be optimistic.
As a younger dog, I think Stamp Urgent has the agility and potential to bounce back, making her a promising 'roughie of the day' selection with odds that might just be too good to resit!
Multi of the Day:
15:59 - Sandown Park, Race 6: #3 Trapper Tears PLACE @ $1.30
20:26 - Gawler, Race 10: #8 Federal Fernando WIN @ $1.80
22:22 - Grafton, Race 12: #3 Vigne Unleashed WIN @ $1.85
Combined Odds: $4.12
Why it's our pick: Starting with Trapper Tears, this greyhound has consistently showcased his speed. His impressive 29.17 PB further signifies his potential, suggesting he's well-suited to clinch a top spot. His class and proven record make him a really handy greyhound, and that is why I am more than happy to take him to finish in the top 3 at Sandown Park today!
Moving on to Federal Fernando: this champ's recent form is hard to ignore, especially with those three consecutive wins at Angle Park. His drop in class for the upcoming race and his recent 'Hat Trick' of victories highlight him as a standout contender in my view. Even at shorter odds, I think he is a good addition to help build this multi up!
And finally, Vigne Unleashed's recent performances, despite a 5th place finish, show strong promise. The drop back from open grade and his strength in the race's latter stages make him a formidable contender, and this, of course, makes him a welcomed addition to my 'multi of the day' bet!
So, with all that being said, I believe these 3 selections offer a harmonious blend of form and potential. And when combined in our multi, they stand out as a trio with a genuine shot at delivering a rewarding outcome.
Here's to hoping they shine on the track today, and here’s to hoping this multi of the day gets up!
Bonus Pick for the Day:
Greyhound: Finloch Shadows
Odds: $2.40
Race: Cannington, Race 12
Trainer: Benjamin Maclean
Form: 447466
Why it's our pick: While Finloch Shadows may not have clinched a top spot in his last race, finishing sixth with a time of 22.53, or even in his last few faces for that matter, I'm choosing to focus on his broader track record. He's shown some notable consistency from this draw, securing a win and four places from just five starts.
So, given his proven track record paired with his evident ability, especially when weighing the competition he faces today, I'm filled with optimism about his prospects. I'm eager to see him rebound and, fingers crossed, secure a victory in today's race. As my 'bonus pick of the day', I truly feel he stands out as a contender to keep an eye on!
Bonus Exotic Bet – Exacta (Any Order):
Greyhounds: #1 He's All Purpose & #6 Springvale Roxy
Race: Gawler, Race 12
Trainer: Timothy Richards & Michael Giniotis
Form: 723212 & 131314
Why it's our pick: Both He's All Purpose and Springvale Roxy have showcased more than decent form recently! He's All Purpose put up a spirited fight last week, finishing 2nd in a swift 22.41 here. With an impressive track record, missing a cheque only once in 12 starts on this trip and boasting a 30.41 PB, he's undeniably a strong contender.
And on the other hand, Springvale Roxy, a standout sprinter, clinched a win at Angle Park just two runs back with a time of 30.65. Her record on this trip is remarkable, having won 6 of her 12 starts and clocking a blazing 30.34 PB. She's clearly a powerful contender in this race!
So, in pairing these two stalwarts in an Exacta, I think it offers a compelling combination, and here's to hoping we see them cross over the finish line in first and second place!
