English Premier League 2023 Matchweek 33 – Betting tips & Predictions

Whilst the end of the EPL seasons looms near, the competition thickens as we head into Gameweek 33. It’s the highly anticipated top of the table clash that is sure to have every fan on the edge of their seat, when Manchester City take on Arsenal at the Etihad. The blue side of Merseyside just about remain with a fighting chance for Premier League survival when they take on high-flying Newcastle at Goodison Park and wounded Chelsea with a chance at a late-season resurgence starting off with Brentford at Stamford Bridge. This mid-table clash is nothing to get too excited about, with both teams almost having Premier League all but secured for next season and sitting in 12th (Crystal Palace) and 13th (Wolves) respectively, expect a relatively timid showing here at the Molineux. In their last fixture at Selhurst Park, Palace came back from 1-0 down at HT to finish the game 2-1 winners. This fixture was the first time since they both met in the Championship back in 2013 that this fixture went over 2.5 goals. Aleksandar Mitrović received an 8-match ban for misconduct when he shoved the referee during their FA Cup to against Manchester United. That will mean that Fulham will be reliant on backup forward Carlos Vinicius for goals, and with Premier League secured and not much to play for, expect a bland showing from this Fulham side.

Although having scored in 7 of them, it seems that the Foxes defence is in a state of shock, having conceded 55 goals this season. Leeds on the other hand don’t have anything to boast about either, having conceded 54 goals this season, just 1 fewer than their competitor this week. With Leeds scoring goals in their last 6 games consecutively, I see this potentially becoming an out of hand high scoring fixture.

However, Forest’s form has been more than concerning and without a victory in their last 10 Premier League matches, this will be a tough ask against Roberto De Zerbi’s high-flying Seagulls. A recent and convincing win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge will surely support the continued climb of Brighton up the Premier League table. Despite Forest’s cause to survive being seemingly higher than a Seagull push from 7th to 6th, Brighton will be rearing to catch Villa and Spurs who only sit a couple points ahead with 2 games more played.

Surprisingly, Brentford sit 2 table positions above the West London club despite having not win in their last 5 Premier League games. That form however has come at a poor time to meet the wounded blues, and surely it will be Chelsea at home who start their Premier League resurgence heading into what will be an ambiguous preseason for the club. Whilst Chelsea should grab the 3 points here, expect goals from both teams.
