The Premier League season is winding to a close, with each team set to play just two more games before it all wraps up. Liverpool are well and truly locked away as champions while Southampton, Ipswich Town and Leicester City will be relegated, but there is still a lot of jostling going on for spots in Europe. More than likely the top seven will qualify for European leagues, and those top seven teams are already confirmed. But with only the top five making it to the coveted Champions League, and just four points separating Newcastle in 3rd from Nottingham Forest in 7th, there is still a lot of water to go under the bridge over the next couple of weeks. That means there are numerous huge games this weekend, and below you can check out our EPL tips and predictions ten scheduled for Matchweek 37.

Aston Villa vs Tottenham
Aston Villa continued their impressive climb up the Premier League standings with a seventh win in just eight games, knocking off Bournemouth 1-0 courtesy of a goal deep in first-half extra time. They now find themselves in 6th spot, but they are only out of the coveted top five and a subsequent Champions League spot on goal difference, and with only a game separating them from Newcastle in 3rd they are a great chance of jumping up another spot if they win their last two games. They will be backing themselves to tick that box this week.
Tottenham’s disappointing Premier League continued with a 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend, but we can forgive them for that. They earned their way into the Europa League final just two days earlier with a 2-0 win over Bodø/Glimt, and with that final against Manchester United set to take place next Thursday, it’s likely that their focus will again be elsewhere this weekend. Aston Villa would likely be able to take care of them at home regardless, but with Tottenham having nothing to play for and pre-occupied with a far more important game next week, and everything on the line for Villa, it’s hard to see the home side failing to get the three points here.

Chelsea vs Manchester United
This edition of the rivalry between old foes Chelsea and Manchester United might not quite have its usual sting given that Man U are in the midst of their worst Premier League season in history by some way, but there is still plenty for Chelsea to play for outside of pure pride this weekend. A 2-0 loss to Newcastle last weekend saw them drop to 5th, and while they could still very feasibly finish as high as 3rd, their spot in the Champions League is far from guaranteed. Their game against Nottingham Forest in two weeks’ time will likely decide their fortune, but they do first have to get the points in a game they really should be winning this weekend.
Manchester United’s disappointing season continued with a 2-0 loss to West Ham last weekend, but like Tottenham they have an excuse for that one having advanced to the Europa League final with a 4-1 win over Athletic Club just two days earlier. Also like Tottenham, they have nothing to achieve over the next two weeks in the EPL, but a potential Europa League victory and subsequent Champions League spot next year is on the line next Thursday, and all of their focus will be pointed towards that. This is much the same setup as the first game of the weekend, with the home team fighting for a top five spot and the visitors more focused on the Europa League final the next week, and the result will likely also be a comfortable win for the home side.

Everton vs Southampton
Everton enjoyed a solid win on the weekend, coming back from a 1-0 deficit against Fulham to win 3-1, and though they have nothing tangible to play for they will be very keen to make it two wins in a row this weekend as they say farewell to Goodison Park. With their new stadium ready to host from next season onwards, this will be their last Premier League game at the place which they have called home for an incredible 133 years. They will be pretty confident in their ability to do just that.
Southampton have just two games left in this stint in the Premier League, having proven unable to deal with the step up in quality and winning just two of their 36 games to date. They find themselves dead last as a result, though they did at least manage a sixth draw of the season last week – and against a Manchester City side with plenty to play for, at that. That result was a reminder that no results are guaranteed in the Premier League, but with Everton likely to be playing on a whole lot of emotion they should be able to slip through a couple more goals into the Goodison Park nets and record another win.

West Ham vs Nottingham Forest
West Ham have not had a particularly exciting season by any means, but they have done enough to avoid relegation relatively comfortably and will be looking to end their season on a positive note after a strong 2-0 win over Manchester United last weekend. They haven’t been easy to beat at home in recent weeks, though their opponent in this game will have plenty of reason to try to buck that trend.
Nottingham Forest have all but officially qualified for a European league next season, but while that is a great result in itself, with only a point separating them from a Champions League spot they will not be celebrating too hard just yet. With a game against Chelsea to come next week, two wins will likely see them jump into the top five, but they can ill-afford to slip up in this one. Unfortunately, they are easily playing the worst of all those top seven teams at the moment, and last weekend couldn’t even dispose of Leicester City as they failed to win for the third straight week. Theoretically they should be winning this game, but it’s easy to see it finishing in a stalemate.

Brentford vs Fulham
is proving to be very impressive regardless. They have won four games on the trot and haven’t lost in well over a month, and though their latest win was not exactly one to write home about as they crept over Ipswich Town 1-0, it nonetheless kept the winning streak going. Seven points in arrears of 7th with two games to go, the top seven is out of their grasp, but that doesn’t appear to be stopping them.
Fulham’s form, meanwhile, has taken a bit of a turn for the worse over recent weeks. Since beating Liverpool 3-2 a little over a month ago, they have lost four of their five games, the latest a disappointing 3-1 loss to Everton after they scored the first goal of the game. A month or two ago they might have entered this game as favourites, but given the respective form lines of these two teams, this looms as a likely fifth consecutive victory for the home team.

Leicester City vs Ipswich Town
It has been a relatively grim season for both of these teams, but at least they will each get a chance to earn a rare victory in their penultimate game in the Premier League until at least the 2026-27 season. Leicester City has actually had an okay couple of weeks, beating Southampton a fortnight ago before drawing with Nottingham Forest last weekend, and given their struggles finding the back of the net over the past few months, it must feel like Christmas for their fans with the four goals they’ve managed in the past two weeks.
Ipswich Town, meanwhile, found themselves back on the losers’ list last weekend with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford a week after they drew with Everton, and that result saw their opponents in this game draw level with them on points for the season. They will finish 18th and 19th and it doesn’t really matter in which order, though at least bragging rights give this game a much-needed injection of relevance. Still, you might as well be trying to pick a winner out of the hat with this one, and with little reason to back either team over the other we’ll take a punt on the draw.

Arsenal vs Newcastle
The game of the weekend will see 2nd placed Arsenal host 3rd placed Newcastle, and while both teams are well-placed to secure a top five spot and qualify for the Champions League, if either of them loses this game it will come down to the final week of the season for that spot to be assured. Arsenal is five points clear of 6th so really should be safe, particularly given they play Southampton next week, but with even a draw enough to secure their spot they will be keen to pick up at least a point in this one.
Newcastle is a couple of points further back, but they have been playing really well of late and after their 2-0 defeat of Chelsea last weekend, have their fortune in their own hands. If they lose this game they could theoretically end up equal on points with 6th place, though with a superior goal difference they would remain in the top five regardless. But that would, of course, make next week’s game against Tottenham a must-win for them to play in Europe’s biggest league. This will be a hard-fought and high-quality game between two very good teams with a lot to play for, and while Arsenal will have the benefit of the home crowd behind them, Newcastle are playing so well of late that at well over $3 with both local and international betting sites, a victory for them looks like one of the better value EPL predictions this weekend.

Brighton vs Liverpool
Brighton have had their moments this season, but they are going to end it around the middle parts of the Premier League table. At their best they looked like a really good team and appeared likely to push towards the top seven that will qualify for Europe, but have faltered over the latter stages of the season. Their 2-0 win over the Wolves last week was their second in three weeks, but it’s too little too late and this weekend’s game will prove a whole lot harder.
Liverpool has just two more games until they can officially celebrate their title, and while they have already secured it they will still be keen to finish off their championship-winning season on a positive note. Not that they need all that much motivation to beat most teams; they are so good that even at 70 or 80% they would win a lot more than they lose, and that is likely to be the case this weekend. After suffering a draw and a loss since their lead in first spot became unassailable, they can get back on the winners’ list against Brighton this weekend, and at significantly better than even money they look like one of the better EPL tips for Matchweek 37.

Crystal Palace vs Wolverhampton
Both of these teams have had surprise streaks without losing a game in the latter stages of the season, with Crystal Palace extending theirs to four last weekend. Previously it was also a winless streak – they had picked up three consecutive draws – but last weekend finally got reward for a pretty solid run of form when they beat Tottenham 2-0.
The Wolves won six games themselves through March and April, but impressive as it was it also came during an unbelievably soft run which saw them play virtually all the bottom teams in succession, and unsurprisingly they have not been able to keep it going with some sterner opposition over the last couple of weeks. They went down 2-0 to Brighton last weekend, and while this is a slightly easier matchup, Crystal Palace has taken it up to some good teams of late. On their home turf, they can win a second consecutive game this weekend.

Manchester City vs Bournemouth
Manchester City remains two points clear inside the top five with two games to go and whether they qualify for the Champions League is in their own hands, but they will be extremely disappointed to not have made it a whole lot easier for themselves last weekend. A week after knocking off the Wolves 1-0, they faced the worst team in the league in Southampton but failed to find the back of the net, being forced to settle for a nil-all draw despite dominating the game. That ended a four-game winning streak for City right at the wrong time, and with Bournemouth and Fulham to come they are far from guaranteed victory in either of their last two games.
Bournemouth has been a solid team this year and prior to last weekend had not lost a game for five weeks, a stretch which included a 2-1 win over Arsenal, but while they were gallant against the in-form Aston Villa, they ultimately went down 1-0. They enter this game as underdogs and for good reason against a quality team, but don’t expect them to go down without a fight against their more highly fancied opposition. This should be a competitive game and Manchester City will be forced to work for their spoils, but with plenty on the line they can eke out a tight win to make it that much more likely that they finish top five and qualify for the Champions League.
