For any AFL player, it is the key part of the season, as Preliminary Finals weekend gets underway.

Knowing that winning one game can book a place in the AFL Grand Final certainly adds to the intrigue surrounding these fixtures, with plenty of AFL betting sites seeing plenty of traction at this time of year.

Collingwood, Brisbane, Carlton and the GWS Giants are the four sides chasing glory in 2023 and all will believe they can go all the way and clinch the AFL Premiership title

Collingwood’s AFL title to lose?

Whilst finishing at the top of the regular season comes with no absolute guarantee, Collingwood’s performances throughout the 2023 campaign have been nothing short of outstanding.

Winning 17 games on the spin during the middle of the term saw them beat every single other side in the league, securing their place at the top of the pile.

Negotiating the playoffs as the side to beat is no easy task, with a target inevitably placed on their heads.

Collingwood remain the favoruites to go all the way and win the 2023 AFL title with many betting sites but they know all too well that they will have to be at the top of their game.

Two decade wait to end for Brisbane?

Winning three consecutive AFL titles between 2001 and 2003 was a period of unprecedented success for Brisbane, who haven’t been able to replicate it since.

The Lions have been a force to be reckoned with this term, picking up points regularly and turning The Gabba into a fortress once more.

Beating Port Adelaide in the qualification final was a real statement and they will believe that have enough to end their 20-year duck in 2023.

Next up is a battle with in-form Carlton, and should they negotiate that – they will play either Collingwood or the GWS Giants in the Grand Final.

Brisbane will be all too aware that they still have work to do but they look to be confident of creating history once again in 2023.

Can Carlton add to their tally or will GWS Giants pick up a maiden title?

1995 was the last time that the Carlton Blues won the AFL Premiership trophy and for long periods this season, that stat didn’t look like changing.

However, a superb late season run propelled them into the playoffs, which they backed up with finals wins over Melbourne and Sydney.

Winning the AFL title from 5th place in the regular season table is never an easy thing to do but few betting apps would go against Carlton currently, such is the form they are in.

The GWS Giants meanwhile have never lifted the AFL trophy and they have experienced a similar season of late blooming.

Sneaking into the playoffs at the 11th hour paid off, as they got past St Kilda and Port Adelaide to book their spot in the last 4.

Both sides have work to do, with Collingwood waiting for the Giants, whilst Carlton travel to Brisbane but both sides have excelled to get this far and will enjoy being able to play on the biggest AFL stage of all.
