By:Katherine Mouradian

VolcanoBet has already established itself as one of the top betting platforms going around. They clearly care about creating a positive betting experience for punters and I expect them to continue to add to their range of features over the next few years. Live chat and a range of racing markets are two of their key drawcards.

They could do with adding more sports and more markets for those sports, along with live betting and streaming. But for the most part, VolcanoBet has a lot of the same offerings you would find with some of the bigger players in the market. Their graphics are a cut above, meaning they are easily distinguishable. VolcanoBet is worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new bookie.

VolcanoBet Full Review

Katherine Mouradian
By:Katherine Mouradian

If you’re looking for something new and fresh, VolcanoBet is a great option! They launched in 2023 and this VolcanoBet review will take you through every aspect of the betting site that you need to know, so you can make a more informed decision about whether this is the bookie for you.

One of the first things you might notice about VolcanoBet is its similarity to some of the other bookmakers launched around the same time. While a similar layout is used across some of the newly launched bookies, there is still a lot that is different about this bookie that makes it interesting.

There is a lot to like about VolcanoBet, especially if you’re looking for a bookie that’s got an interesting theme. VolcanoBet certainly isn’t plain and boring like some of the other bookies operating in Australia, that’s for sure! I’ve done all the heavy lifting, so all you need to do is read and make a judgement call if VolcanoBet is for you.

About VolcanoBet

VolcanoBet is a new player in the game and they are licensed by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission, making them one of the ideal Victorian betting sites going around. There’s plenty on offer from VolcanoBet that I think punters will love.

At this stage, VolcanoBet is Australian only and isn’t one of the few international betting sites going around. I think this can be seen as a good thing because it means that VolcanoBet can focus on specialising on providing exactly what Australians want from their betting site and/ or app.

VolcanoBet is standing out from the crowd thanks to the graphics on its website and app. With a volcano betting theme, you’ll love the interesting and engaging VolcanoBet graphics. I’ve never seen these types of graphics used for a betting site before, so if you’re into something a little quirky, you’ll like this bookie.

While the website and app look good, it also functions as you would expect. Both load quickly and it’s easy to navigate your way, finding what you need in just a couple of clicks. You’ll find a normal selection of markets but they offer great fixed odds, especially their racing odds. There is now also tote betting available.

Their sports-related odds aren’t as crash-hot and there aren’t too many sports to bet on as well, so it’s pretty clear they are putting more effort into getting their racing product up and running. This could change in the future as VolcanoBet is one of the new betting sites going around.

VolcanoBet join now

Over the last couple of years, I have seen Volcanobet work on their website and app to provide a better experience for their users. They have a solid range of promotions and their customer service is among some of the best in the industry.

While there are certainly different ways VolcanoBet can improve further, what they are offering right now is good enough for any bettor to consider. They seem to do all the basics right and do more than enough to keep their users happy with different unique features.

VolcanoBet Key Rankings

Betting Variety ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The betting variety available at VolcanoBet is quite reasonable. They offer the majority of the same markets across racing and heaps of sports markets as well.

Platform Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It’s easy to navigate around the VolcanoBet website and app. You can place your bets with just a couple of clicks.

Customer Support ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The customer support is decent at VolcanoBet and they offer live chat as a communication method, which is one of the most ideal methods.

Banking Options ⭐⭐⭐

One area I think VolcanoBet can improve on is the range of banking options available. Adding a few more will reach a wider range of bettors.

Payout Speed ⭐⭐⭐

Along with the banking options available, there is also room for improvement with VolcanoBet’s payout speed.

Security ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

VolcanoBet is a safe place to bet with. They are licensed by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission.

VolcanoBet Review Pros & Cons + Verdict

When it comes to VolcanoBet online, there are a few pros and cons each punter should be aware of before signing up. It’s always a good idea to have all the information possible about a bookie, so you can make an informed decision about whether they are right for you.

Even the best betting sites aren’t perfect, so you just need to work out if the positives outweigh the negatives! Keep reading to see all the pros and cons I found with VocanoBet Australia:

VolcanoBet Strengths

The important pros of VolcanoBet that you should know include:

  • Competitive odds for racing markets - After comparing some of the odds of some upcoming races, VolcanoBet is reasonably competitive.
  • Blended odds and Same Game Multi markets - They offer a solid range of markets for racing, including more than the simple fixed win and place bets.
  • Easy navigation and unique graphics - It is very easy to find your way around the VolcanoBet app and website.
  • Live chat - If you ever run into an issue, the VolcanoBet customer service team is reachable through live chat.
  • Fast app - I am yet to find an issue with the app and it is quite fast as well, meaning you can place your bets in a matter of seconds.

VolcanoBet Weaknesses

The important cons of VolcanoBet that you should know include:

  • Limited banking options, especially for withdrawal - When it comes to withdrawals at VolcanoBet, the only option is bank transfer.
  • No phone customer support - While they do offer live chat, there isn’t a phone number available to speak with a customer service representative.
  • Not as strong odds for sports events - I found their sports-related odds to not stack up as much as their racing odds.

VolcanoBet Verdict

For a new betting site, VolcanoBet ticks a lot of the key boxes. They have good odds for racing markets, but the trade-off is that their odds for sports events aren’t as strong. VolcanoBet is a great bookie for anyone who sticks with the standard bet types and most popular racing and sports events.

I expect that VolcanoBet will continue to grow and add more features and products to its offering. For one of the newer betting sites on the market, they have a standard offering. Their graphics are quite unique, which is a stand-out point for VolcanoBet and you can easily navigate through their website and/ or app.

VolcanoBet Features

Throughout my time checking out VolcanoBet, I’ve found several key features that I enjoyed and think you will too. There are four features in particular that I want to highlight in this VolcanoBet review as I think it is what makes the bookie stand out.

New betting site - Volcanobet

Runner Highlights

VolcanoBet has nailed its racing product and most of its best features relate to racing, including its runner highlights feature! This feature is simple to understand, so it appeals to new punters as well. When looking at racing markets, users will be provided with key statistics including; Best Rated, Strong Finisher, Roughie, Track Specialist and more.

While they could take this a little further by adding more in-depth horse racing tips, I think the quick insights are a great start. It’s perfect for those looking to place a last-minute bet and may not necessarily have time to properly read through tips. The quick insights offer bite-sized pieces of information.

Live Chat

Live chat is available with this betting site as well. I’ve found that not all betting sites offer a live chat feature, so to see a new bookie offering this feature is awesome. If you ever are stuck, you can start a conversation with the customer support team and they will work to get your issue resolved as fast as they can.

I find live chat is usually the best option when reaching out to any customer service team as I usually get a faster response. It is easy to start a live chat as well, which can be done through either the website or app. If you need a response quickly, live chat is usually the way to go.

Blended Odds

Blended odds is another great racing feature that’s on offer with VolcanoBet. With blended odds, you are essentially combining the odds price if you select multiple runners. This feature is great if you don’t think the favourite is going to win, so you choose other runners in the market.

If you’re looking to try something a little different, then blended odds could be a good option. This is just one of the many great racing-related features that are offered by VolcanoBet and it gives you more options to explore something new that you might not have even considered previously.

Competitive Fixed Racing Odds

The addition of this feature ensures VolcanoBet is quickly becoming one of the best horse racing betting sites around. When I compared some of the odds for upcoming races, I found that the odds on offer here were just as, if not more competitive. It still does pay to shop around because you never know when better odds are going to be available.

Those who like to bet on horse racing should really appreciate what VolcanoBet has to offer. Comparing the odds is an easy way to get more bang for your buck because you’ll usually find different odds for the same runner. If you bet fairly regularly, this can all stack up over time and make a significant difference.

VolcanoBet Racing Offering

I’ve mentioned this already in my review of VolcanoBet, but I do believe they are focusing more on their racing offering. I think VolcanoBet is excelling more with their racing offering compared to their sports offering. A quick glance at their homepage shows just how much they are focusing on racing.

All the key real estate above the fold is all racing related. At the top of the page, you’ll see three upcoming races which can be from either horse racing, greyhound racing or harness racing. They offer domestic and international markets for all three racing codes, which is pretty much the same that you’ll see with the biggest bookies in the market.

They also offer the market for all the top runners in an upcoming feature race. This makes it very easy to click on a specific runner and that bet gets added straight to your betslip on the right. Once the bet is in your betslip, it’s very easy to place your bet (you’ll have to be logged into your account).

As previously mentioned, VolcanoBet offers quick insights, which is a great way to get bite-sized pieces of information about each runner. The range of markets available is usually on par with some of the more established bookies in the market and includes all the fixed markets and exotics you have come to know and love.

Their fixed racing odds are quite competitive as well and this is one of the reasons I would consider VolcanoBet one of the up-and-coming greyhound betting sites going around. You’ll also enjoy their range of racing-related promotions, but I’ll talk more about this in greater detail later on in this review.

For a bookie that has only been around a couple of years to already start to rival some of the biggest players in the game is certainly a massive plus. I would love to see VolcanoBet offer live streaming for horse racing, but I do understand getting the rights to racing streams can be quite expensive.

market-variety

VolcanoBet Sports Offering

It seems as though racing is where VolcanoBet seems to excel, but that doesn’t mean they have completely forgotten about sports. When heading to the VolcanoBet website or app, you can use the toggle button in the top left-hand side to switch across to sports-related markets and more.

Volcano Bet Racing

VolcanoBet also lists all the main upcoming sports in the main menu, making it easy to find what you’re looking for. While I think VolcanoBet can improve by adding more sports to their offering (for example, they aren’t one of the many esports betting sites in Australia), they do a good job with the sports they do offer.

I had a look at basketball as an example and they have markets for some of the biggest leagues going around, like the NBA. On top of this, they cover other leagues in countries from right around the world, including Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, Greece and more.

For the biggest leagues, like the NBA, they have a great selection of markets for each game. One upcoming NBA game I looked into for this review had over 600 markets available to choose from. The range of markets available makes VolcanoBet one of the best NBA betting sites in my eyes.

If you’re looking for some of the best AFL betting sites or NRL betting sites, VolcanoBet does stack up in terms of the range of markets available. You’ll find markets available for every game of the season and most will have well over 300 markets available! If you like to have a lot of options at your disposal, VolcanoBet is a great option.

I would even say they are making a name for themselves as one of the up-and-coming tennis betting sites due to the range of tournaments they offer markets on. They also offer markets on other sports like cricket, soccer, ice hockey and more.

I’ll talk more about these aspects later on in my review, but I would consider the sports odds and promotions to be quite standard. Most of the time, the odds on offer for sporting markets is on par or slightly lower to what you’ll find with others. In terms of their promotions, they have a decent range, but I wouldn’t say they are doing anything industry-leading.

One area where I think VolcanoBet could make some easy improvements is to add quick insights to the most popular sporting leagues, similar to what they already do for racing. Adding in EPL tips, NRL tips, AFL tips and NBA tips, for example, would probably be well received.

VolcanoBet Odds

As I just touched on earlier in this VolcanoBet review, their fixed racing odds are quite competitive. I found that on several occasions their odds were just as competitive as some of the bigger players in the market. They also now offer best tote, so punters can get the best return out of all three TAB dividends.

While they have made some serious progress in terms of their racing odds, their odds for sports seem to be lacking slightly. Some of the more popular markets in sports have decent enough odds, but if you are looking for something a little more obscure, their odds are usually worse than competitors.

If you usually stick to betting on sporting events, I would still recommend checking out VolcanoBet, though, because you never know when you’ll find a little nugget of gold. Just a couple of minutes of additional checking could mean an increase in your payout if your bet ends up being successful.

I always recommend shopping around, no matter what you are thinking about betting on. Odds comparison tools can really help speed up the process, but they usually won’t have all the bookies available for you to compare the odds, so sometimes there is a little bit of manual work required.

It should all be worth it, especially in the long run as it all adds up. So, even a few cents difference here and there can make a huge difference. I usually find that new betting sites don’t always offer the most competitive odds, but it seems as though VolcanoBet does partly buck this trend, especially with their fixed racing odds.

features

VolcanoBet Australia Markets & Bet Types

VolcanoBet has decent coverage with racing and sports markets. It is important for a betting site to offer a wide range of markets, to appeal to as many punters as possible. For racing especially, VolcanoBet offers a great selection. Punters can find both Aussie and international racing events.

The bet types available for racing are fairly comprehensive as well. They have markets like fixed win/ place, Same Race Multis, blended odds, quinella, exacta, trifecta and first four. This selection of bet types is what you’d also find with some of the bigger bookies.

If you’re betting on racing with VolcanoBet, I would say that they have pretty much everything you could need and offer a very similar range of markets to the more established Australian bookies. Also, the same range of racing events is usually found at VolcanoBet, across all three racing codes.

When it comes to sports, their offering aren’t as widespread. They cover all the main sports and upcoming events. For example, when I checked VolcanoBet, the Euros had just started, so you’ll find Euro betting markets available. Obviously, the range of sports they offer markets for will change depending on the time of the year.

Exploring the VolcanoBet App

For the bigger sports, like AFL and NRL, they have the most markets available. AFL and NRL betting is easy with VolcanoBet and they even have Same Game Multis available, if you’re looking to ramp up your potential payout. The layout of VolcanoBet’s platform also makes it easy to create and place your Same Game Multi.

Even leagues like the NBA, NFL and more, you’ll find hundreds upon hundreds of markets available. So, it doesn’t matter if you want to stick with the main head-to-head market or shake things up a little bit with player props, it’s all available to you with VolcanoBet. I think it would be fairly difficult for you to find a market that isn’t available with VolcanoBet.

Some of the key sports that you’ll be able to bet on with VolcanoBet include:

  • American Football
  • Australian Rules
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Darts
  • Ice Hockey
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Soccer
  • Sports Futures
  • Tennis

live-streaming

VolcanoBet Live Betting

If you’ve been a regular bettor for a little while now, you’ve likely seen live betting markets and maybe even tried your hand at a live bet! Live betting involves betting on events that are “in-play”. The range of markets available is usually more limited compared to if you were betting before the game started.

In Australia, to place a live bet, you are required to call up a bookmaker and speak with a customer service representative. This process can take a minute or two, so you’ll usually find that live betting markets are only available for sports, as there is more time between the start and end of the match.

Not all betting sites offer live betting due to the strict requirements involved in bettors placing live bets and it looks like VolcanoBet is one of the bookies that doesn’t offer this feature. Remember, VolcanoBet is still relatively new in the market and it wouldn’t surprise me to see them adding this feature in the future.

I have placed live bets in the past and while it does add another level of excitement, especially if you believe you’ve locked in good odds, I wouldn’t consider this to be an essential feature. There are plenty of other areas that VolcanoBet excels in and I wouldn’t avoid them just because they don’t offer live betting.

betting-apps

VolcanoBet App

I am pleased to confirm that the VolcanoBet app is super easy to download and available from the App Store or Google Play Store. It only takes a couple of minutes to sign up (if you don’t already have an account) and then you can start betting!

So, what makes VolcanoBet’s app one of the best online betting apps going around? Well, it is easy to get around and so far, I haven’t found any glitches or bugs with the app. The same unique design from the website is also on the app and it’s easy to get around. If you’re the kind of punter who prefers to bet on the go, you should check out the VolcanoBet app.

As time goes on, I expect VolcanoBet’s app to evolve and they likely add in new features. Remember, they are a new bookie, so this is just one of their initial versions of the app. Everything users find on the website, users will also be able to find on the app.

The app is a direct reflection of the website, so all the features and more that you’ll find on the website are also available on the app. The app is intuitively designed, meaning it is very easy to place your bets, which is perfect if you’ve ended up leaving things to the last minute.

I have found that most people prefer to use their phones to place bets, even if they have access to a computer. The process of placing bets is more streamlined and with the optimised experience you’ll get with VolcanoBet, why wouldn’t you?

I’ve looked at VolcanoBet’s app rating in the Apple Store and in the Google Play Store, which you can also find below:

  • Apple Store rating - 4.1/5
  • Google Play Store rating - 4.7/5

VolcanoBet app hp

bonuses

VolcanoBet Promotions

We all want something for nothing, so what VolcanoBet promotions are on offer? Well, it’s important to note that VolcanoBet (and all other Aussie bookies) cannot offer sign-up inducements for new customers due to regulations. But there is a range of promotions on offer from VolcanoBet for existing customers.

To see the range of promotions available with VolcanoBet, you’ll have to be logged into your account. In my opinion, they have a greater range of promotions for racing events, so if you are primarily a racing punter, VolcanoBet should be one of your top choices.

One of the things I love about VolcanoBet is how they keep changing things up. They always have a different promotion they are running, so it’s a good idea to keep checking your account to see what’s new. A lot of their promotions are event-based as well, so for example, if a major horse racing event is coming up, they’ll likely have an offer available.

When it comes to betting sites with bonuses, I would probably place VolcanoBet in the middle of the pack. They have a stack of worthwhile promotions available, meaning it is easy to get more bang for your buck, but I wouldn’t really consider them industry-leading (they are more of a follower, which is totally fine by me).

Taking advantage of all the promotions different betting sites have to offer is always a good idea to help stretch your dollar even further. Also, if you are using different betting strategies, like arbitrage betting, promotions can potentially make this strategy more successful.

payment-methods

VolcanoBet Payment Methods

The payment methods currently available with VolcanoBet include:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Bank Transfer

We don’t usually see the newer betting sites excel when it comes to withdrawal and deposit options. I’m here to report that this is also the case for VolcanoBet. They have limited options for both withdrawals and deposits, so if extensive banking options are a dealbreaker for you, VolcanoBet may not be the best choice.

For withdrawals, the only option available for punters is bank transfer. This method is generally not too fast either, so you’ll have to wait a day or so until the cash is in your bank account. This means that VolcanoBet is definitely not one of the fastest withdrawal betting sites, especially when you consider that some bookies offer instant withdrawals.

When it comes to deposits, you have the choice of debit cards or bank transfer. If you opt to deposit using your debit card you can expect an instant deposit of funds into your betting account. For bank transfers, it can take a little longer, usually at least a day for your account to be credited.

So, it’s pretty clear they don’t have a wide offering with payment options. This doesn’t really matter if the options you use are listed in this section. However, I’ve found that more punters want a greater variety of options to choose from.

On top of this, fast withdrawals are a major drawcard that punters are on the lookout for. I would also like to see VolcanoBet add some more payment options and for them to become one of the many BPAY betting sites and PayPal betting sites.

customer-support

VolcanoBet Customer Support

There are usually three ways a punter can get in touch with a betting site; phone, email or live chat. VolcanoBet Australia offers two of those three options; email and live chat. For a bookie that’s only been around since 2023, it’s pretty good to see they offer live chat as this is one of the methods used to get any issues resolved as quickly as possible.

If you need to get in touch with VolcanoBet’s customer support team, more details on your options include:

  • Live chat (through the website and app)
  • Email (service@volcanobet.com.au)

I personally prefer speaking with customer support through live chat because it is less time-consuming and my issue usually gets fixed up easily. The VolcanoBet live chat team is available every day between 7am and 9pm (AEST).

To take things up another notch, VolcanoBet should consider extending the hours of their live chat support at least. There are other bookies in Australia that offer 24/7 customer support. There are racing and sporting events on 24/7 and at any given time you could run into a snag.

So, it would be great if any potential issues get resolved as quickly as possible instead of waiting around for the customer support team to start working. Also, adding in a phone number would be helpful for those bettors who prefer to speak with someone over the phone to get their query resolved.

FAQs About VolcanoBet

If you have any final questions you want answered about the bookie that is Volcano Bet, you’ve come to the right place! After conducting all my research, I found some common questions people have. Check out all the FAQs below:

After doing some research, I wasn’t able to find out a lot about who specifically owns VolcanoBet. All I was able to find is that VolcanoBet is owned by a company called Volcano (Aust) Pty Ltd.

Yes, VolcanoBet is certainly legit! VolcanoBet is licensed by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission which means you can safely bet with them. You know they follow all the proper rules and regulations in this country.

There is a fairly decent range of markets available with VolcanoBet, especially for racing where you can choose from markets like Same Race Multi and blended odds. The range of sports markets isn’t as extensive as some of the major players in the market, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are working on that now!

There is a good range of promotions available with VolcanoBet, but for you to access any of the promotions that are on offer, you’ll need to be logged into your account. Once you have logged in, head over to the “Promotions” page to see where you can get some more bang for your buck.

Unfortunately, at this stage, VolcanoBet doesn’t offer live streaming or live betting. I’ve found that the majority of new betting sites don’t offer live streaming or betting. VolcanoBet might offer this in the future though, so keep your eyes peeled.
