Best Australian Open Multi Bet This Friday

Four men remain in the 2024 Australian Open, and that number is soon to be cut in half again. Friday sees two brilliant semi-final matches scheduled at Melbourne Park, with Novak Djokovic taking on Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev facing Alexander Zverev. Here are our tips for the most lucrative multi betting on these matches.

Novak Djokovic vs Jannik Sinner

Melbourne Park, 26th January 2024, time TBC

Djokovic to win @ 1.44 (bet365)

Last season was billed as the year of Djokovic vs Alcaraz. While that rivalry certainly produced some classic matches, another quietly blossomed behind the scenes as well. Sinner and Djokovic played on four occasions in 2023, splitting the meetings 2-2.

Arguably, Sinner has been the form player of the 2024 Australian Open. The Italian is yet to drop a set across five matches, impressively running past number 15 seed Karen Khachanov and number five seed Andrey Rublev most recently.

Djokovic, on the other hand, is on a 33-match winning streak in Melbourne. The 10-time Australian Open champion simply knows how to produce his best tennis on these courts. He also showed late last year that he knows how to beat Sinner when it really matters, dismantling him 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the Nitto ATP Finals.

We say the experience and killer instinct of Djokovic gets him across the line here.

Total games to be over 39.5 @ 1.83 (bet365)

While Djokovic should win this clash, it won’t be without a fight. Sinner has won two of their past three matches, both of which went down to the wire in the final set. Their Turin meeting in November, for example, was an incredible 38 games—and that was only a best of three match.
Adding to this, Djokovic initially struggled with the heat against Taylor Fritz in his quarter-final. Chances are this match will be played with some initial sun on the court as well. Combine this with the fact that Sinner is fresh coming into the semi-finals, and the groundwork has been laid for a lengthy clash.

Daniil Medvedev vs Alexander Zverev

Melbourne Park, 26th January 2024, time TBC

Medvedev to win @ 1.61 (bet365)

This is the semi-final that few saw coming, with Zverev stunning Carlos Alcaraz in his quarter-final. Nevertheless, we have another Medvedev v Zverev clash, again.

These two met an incredible six times in 2023, with Medvedev winning five of those encounters. Despite both playing a similar style of baseline grinding, it’s clear that the Russian has his opponent’s number in this match up over recent years. Given Medvedev’s hard-court prowess and stronger nerves when it comes to the back end of Grand Slams, we say he’ll extend his edge in this head-to-head on Friday.

Total games to be under 40.5 @ 1.83 (bet365)

Interestingly, international betting sites are picking this match to be a long one. Fair enough—both Medvedev and Zverev have played two five-setters and two four-setters so far this tournament.

Despite the trend so far this Australian Open, we believe this clash will fizzle slightly in terms of its length. Simply put, something’s got to give. Zverev will be coming into this clash on empty having played over seven hours across his past two matches. We’ve seen him flop in such situations in the past, and the prospect of that happening again here is strong. Medvedev has also won their last two meetings in straight sets.

Betting on this to be under 40.5 games allows two scenarios to get paid. Zverev could win the opening set then fade steeply across the remaining three, or he could simply get swept 3-0 sets.
