Having been agonisingly edged out in the Cox Plate at the back end of 2023, Mr Brightside needed a good start to 2024. 

Trained by the Hayes clan, Mr Brightside was the standout pick in the betting for the CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield and although he was run close, he came good, much to the relief of punters and online betting sites alike. 

Throughout 2023, many Aussie bookmakers and punters were wowed by the performances of Mr Brightside, with multiple Group 1 wins and for being part of a nail-biting finish in the Cox Plate.

Taking the plaudits for winning will rightfully heading the way of Mr Brightside but having been pushed all the way by the likes of Pride of Jenni and Buffalo River – both horses look to have a very bright future ahead of them. 
Big races to come 

Mr Brightside is a horse that will always catch the attention of punters and betting apps, with connections hoping that 2024 will be a big season for a horse in peak condition. 
Following the win at the CF Orr Stakes, JD Hayes earmarked the Futurity Stakes and the All-Star Mile as Group 1 contests in the not-too-distant future that are within reach. 
Beyond that, the Australian Cup at Flemington is also on the agenda, making the 2024 season a very busy one indeed for Mr Brightside.
