Saturday Racing Tips - Morphettville 11/05/24

Morphettville delivers a superb card on 11th May, with plenty of betting opportunities out there for punters.

The third offering of a busy day here at Morphettville is a Group 3 contest, which promises plenty of speed, drama and excitement over 1200m. The David Coles AM Stakes has some excellent horses in the mix, all chasing piece of the A$150,000 prize pot and it should be an excellent race, eagerly tracked by both punters, and Aussie bookmakers.

When exciting 2-year-olds line up for any contest, there is often a sense of unpredictability but some of the best rated youngsters in Australia take to the starting post here at Morphettville. 
Topping the betting in a congested field is Symphony Of Colour, a horse that has seriously looked the part in just two career outings, managing to win once and place in the other race and connections are very excited about how far it could go in the short-term and long-term future. 1200m looks to be the ideal distance for Symphony Of Colour and a win here at Group 3, would really press home its credentials and it is the one to beat at $2.90 with Playup. 

Big names continue to adorn the card here, and Flyer is another horse from serious stock, who is hoping to pick up a big win in this one. With 5 races under its belt, Flyer is a little more experienced than most in the field – something that should help it here and with some excellent prices being bandied about, Flyer looks to be one to keep an eye on at $4.40 with Bet365. 

In a race like this, there is always huge value to find and both Karavas and Colmar look to have the speed to win this one and both represent excellent offerings at $5.00 and $15.00 respectively with Punterspal.  

Stretching out to over 2100m, race 5 here at Morphettville should be another excellent contest, with so many big-name trainers and jockeys in the mix, all chasing some Autumn wins. Whilst the A$120,000 prize pot doesn’t jump off the page, the calibre of the horse involved does and this should be a massive race on Saturday, for both old and new betting sites alike.  
 
Centaurea Stakes 

A broad selection of horses line up for this fillies and mares handicap and with such variety of horses in the field, there are always plenty of options out there for both punters and Aussie bookmakers alike. This should be one of the more open contests of the day, outside of the favourite, who has been short odds for this contest for a while and who loves winning. 

That front runner is Sea What I See, the Irish flyer who has been in incredible form for Danny O’Brien of late, winning its last 6 outings at a relative canter. This will be a tougher test, not necessarily because of the field but because of the trip and the distance here in South Australia but See What I See comes from incredible racing stock and he should be too good for the rest here at $2.00 with Punterspal.  

Paddy Payne always has his selections raring to go here in South Australia and Seonee looks to be one of the very best in his yard at the moment. Winning here at Morphettville just 2 weeks ago is a good yard stick, albeit at a much shorter distance and Seonee could be worth a go here at $4.40 with Playup. 

Quality horses make up the rest of the field, with both Silent Surrente and Rivaport possessing plenty of quality and both can make decent claims at $7.00 and $14.00 respectively with Bet365. 

Group three contests continue to roll in at Morphettville and race 7 promises to be another excellent offering, for all levels of punter and Aussie horse racing bookmaker. There is A$220k in the prize pool for this one, another healthy pot for all involved and once again, plenty of high-quality horses find themselves chasing some glory here in South Australia. 
 
Hahn The Cummings Stakes 

Another batch of excellent horses take to the starting gate here in race 7, which should be one of the picks of the day on a busy card at Morphettville. The openness of the betting makes for intriguing reading and there are a whole host of horses that have the potential to prevail here. 

The market leader is the prolific Pounding, a horse that has always come up trumps for trainer Peter Moody and who continues to bring home the bacon in terms of prize money. Race wins have been few and far between of late, but Pounding remains a classy operator, with over A$1 million of career prize money banked and it is the one to beat here at $4.20 with Bet365. 

So many strong horses make claims too here, but Jimmy The Bear is perhaps the most solid of those, lining up for Paddy Payne once again and with conditions sure to suit, Jimmy The Bear looks to represent excellent value at $7.50 with Playup. 

Excellent prices can be found on plenty of horses here, a representation of how open this contest is and both Second To Nun and King Magnus know where the finishing line is and they both make very strong claims here at $8.00 and $8.50 respectively with Punterspal.
