Group 1 racing is well underway in the 2023 season and the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield promises to be one for the ages.

Memsie Stakes Day at Caulfield always houses plenty of exciting races and the W.W Cockram Stakes looks to be a high calibre Group 3 outing, with A$200,000 in the prize pot.

Some seriously quick horses pack the field in the W.W Cockram Stakes at Caulfield, with all of the biggest Australian betting apps seeing plenty of traction across their sites. 

The 1200m dash has some of the best in the business in the field, in terms of owners, trainers and jockeys and this promises to be a high quality contest.

The lightly raced C’est Magique is another horse that looks to have the potential to fly in this race, with the 1200m trip ideal for plenty in the field. The two horses above it in the betting are far more proven but at $6.50 with Punterspal it is a horse with more than a decent chance.

Another impressive card at Caulfield springs to the attention of old and new betting sites alike, with The Heath. Raced over the even brisker 1100m, The Heath has a strong history of housing winners that go on to bigger and better things and connections will be hoping for the same of the crop of 2023.

Speed will be the determining factor in this one here at Caulfield, with plenty of solid horses looking to hit the gas from the outset. Asfoora is the eye-catching market leader, with the 5-year old travelling over to Australia following some impressive showings back in the UK.

Plenty of speedsters make up the field in The Heath at Caulfield in 2023 and Magic Time is another horse that fits exactly that bracket. Whilst it perhaps doesn’t have the pedigree of some of its rivals at the gate, connections have high hopes for a horse that has won 75% of starts.

The remaining market in The Heath is packed with potential and Sigh and Kallos are two horses that both looked to be well priced in this one. Kiwi flyer Mr Brightside has been churning out the wins for the past few seasons and once again, it looks to be the firm favourite for this one. Winning at Caulfield last month will prove to be the perfect preparation for a race such as this and Mr Brightside is the rightful favourite for the Memsie Stakes at $3.10 with Bet365.

Up on the rails is fellow Kiwi offering I Wish I Win, who also has an excellent record over both course and distance. Speed won’t be an issue for his lightning quick 5-year old but whether it will be enough remains to be seen at $4.40 with Playup.

The prestige of the Memsie Stakes makes it a huge draw every season and Alligator Blood and Princess Grace are two offerings that could certainly challenge here in this Group 1 offering. Coming in at $5.00 and $7.00 respectively, both horses look to be in with more than a shot with Punterspal.
