  • Big names assemble in pursuit of Rosehill Guineas glory once more in 2024.

First ran back in 1910, the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas contest is a race that has always held plenty of grandeur with both punters and online betting sites alike.

The 2024 edition promises to be no different and it is the Chris Waller trained, Riff Rocket, who looks to be the horse to beat.

It has been a superb rise to prominence for Riff Rocket, who has become one of the most reliable Chris Waller horses in recent times in the eyes of both punters and Aussie bookmakers

With 5 wins from 9 career outings, the 3-year-old has really come of age in 2024, with a sublime win in the CS Hayes Stakes earlier this year an undoubted highlight.

Waller has primed Riff Rocket for the Rosehill Guineas, one of the most prestigious contests of the calendar year, and it should be a fascinating battle over 2000m on Saturday 23rd March.

Rocket to soar?

Ever since making his debut as a 2-year-old, Riff Rocket has always looked the part for Chris Waller, producing superb victories in established fields.

It was the victory in the CS Hayes Stakes at Flemington in February however that made plenty of punters and online betting sites stand up and take note and Riff Rocket looks set to kick on from there.

The 2000m trip in the Rosehill Guineas will be a serious test but Waller is confident that Riff Rocket can get the job done in this one.

Stuck in Sydney

Curiously, despite 5 wins from 9 career starts being a headline for Riff Rocket, he has only managed to win a race in New South Wales once.

All 4 of Riff Rocket’s other triumphs have come in Victoria, a statistic that Chris Waller is keen to see come to an abrupt end at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

Going for Guineas glory

Whilst Riff Rocket is generating plenty of attention with all of the biggest and best Australian horse racing betting apps, there are plenty of big-name trainers and jockeys in the mix here for the Rosehill Guineas.

Tom Kitten is a serious contender for James Cummings, whilst King Colorado will benefit from having the experienced Mark Zahra on board over the Rosehill trip.

Elsewhere, Ganbare is the outside shot for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, whilst Riff Rocket’s stablemate Cap Ferrat is also in with a decent shot in this one.

Group 1 contests always get pulses racing with punters and online betting sites and Riff Rocket looks to be the horse to beat in the Rosehill Guineas in 2024.

Chris Waller has high hopes for the 3-year-old, who has picked up some impressive career wins so far and how he would love him to add the Rosehill Guineas to his collection.
