With A$4 in the prize pot, the All-Star Mile at Caulfield has become a hugely sought after contest by both punters and online betting sites alike.

The calibre of horse was clear for all too see on Saturday and it was Pride of Jenni who came out on top in a thrilling contest.

Ciaron Maher continues to churn out the results for both punters and Aussie bookmakers in the Australian racing scene and he has done it again at Caulfield.

Pride of Jenni is a 6-year-old with a prestigious track record and who has always been well trained by Maher and she looks to be coming into her pomp at just the right time.

Favourite Mr Brightside simply could not handle the heat, as Pride of Jenni blitzed the 1600m trip to clinch the All-Star Mile crown, with predictions now being made for the season ahead.

Brimming with Pride

Ciaron Maher has long been one of the most outspoken trainers in the business and he was bigging up Pride of Jenni’s chances ahead of the race.

However, not many punters or online betting sites could see past Mr Brightside for All Star Mile glory at Caulfield and he was the hot favourite heading into the contest.

Pride of Jenni, however, displayed a devastating turn of speed, along with excellent endurance and stamina, to win impressively at Caulfield, with Maher and connections visibly moved by the performance at the end of the race.

Blank for Brightside

When a winning horse produces a run like that, there is very little the competition can do and Mr Brightside will certainly have his day in the sun once again.

However, watching a horse lay down the gauntlet to Mr Brightside from the off has never really been seen before and it is a timely reminder of just how competitive the Australian horse racing market currently is.

The Cox Plate and or the Melbourne Cup look like obvious choices for Mr Brightside, who will be eager to keep the momentum going through 2024 and beyond.

Delightful Declan

For all the superlatives levelled at such a special performance from Pride of Jenni, a semblance of credit must go to jockey Declan Bates.

The Irishman is a relative unknown with many Australian horse racing betting apps but he steered Pride of Jenni expertly around the Caulfield track.

He and Pride of Jenni could team up again in the Cox Plate too, with the 2000m trip the ultimate aim for the Pride of Jenni camp and it could be a partnership that continues to blossom.

Winning big races is what every horse owner and trainer dreams of and it was Pride of Jenni that produced the goods for Ciaron Maher in the All-Star-Mile at Caulfield. It was a performance that has been noted by many punters and online betting sites and Pride of Jenni looks to be a horse to keep an eye on through 2024 and beyond.
