Dabble Full Review

Katherine Mouradian
By:Katherine Mouradian

Dabble is one of the new betting sites after being founded in 2020. While they might be on the newer side, they have quickly become one of the biggest bookies in Australia, mainly thanks to their innovative social-first betting features.

This Dabble betting review goes through all the key aspects of the bookie, providing you with unique insights. If you’re interested in giving this bookmaker a spin, then you have come to the right place. You’ll find out everything you could ever need to know about Dabble right on this page!

About Dabble

Let me start things off by saying that I previously worked at Dabble. Read into that as you will, but I certainly am in a good position to provide a unique review on this betting app! Dabble has come a long way in a short amount of time and they are leading the way with their social betting approach.

If imitation is the best form of flattery, Dabble is certainly getting a lot of praise. Over the last couple of years, we’ve all seen some of the biggest betting apps in the industry produce their own version of Dabble’s products/ features and they are certainly one of the best Victorian betting sites going around.

They are an app-only bookie (you cannot bet on their website) and it’s very clear that community is at the centre of everything they do. Their app combines social media with betting, which allows punters to follow others, copy bets and even banter with each other.

More recently, Dabble has gone international, so we can now say they are one of the few international betting sites going around. But their headquarters are in Australia and they are an Australian-owned betting site.

You can follow your mates or even get behind some of the biggest sports stars in the industry. At any given time, they have a range of former sportspeople and sports commentators on the books. You can also catch some of these stars in Dabble’s live streams, which are on most days.

Dabble Click

Dabble is 100% Australian owned and they have offices all around Australia. They are constantly looking for the next big feature and are always listening to what their users have to say. If you’ve got any feedback or ideas for them, there’s a specific banter channel you can express yourself!

Dabble Key Rankings

Betting Variety ⭐⭐⭐⭐(+½)

The betting variety is something that Dabble have worked on to improve in recent years and they have a great variety.

Platform Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dabble doesn't offer a website for betting, so all their resources are geared towards creating the best app platform experience going around.

Customer Support ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dabble offers a decent customer support platform, however, they could benefit by offering 24/7 customer support hours.

Banking Options ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Among the best in the industry, they offer a wide variety of deposit methods but could use more withdrawal options.

Payout Speed ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The payout speed is excellent at Dabble, pretty much the best in the industry, with some bettors getting their withdrawal funds in a matter of seconds.

Security ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nothing to worry about here, Dabble is a fully licensed bookmaker in Australia, so you should feel safe betting with them.

Dabble Review Pros & Cons + Verdict

When it comes to choosing a bookie in Australia, there are several important factors to consider. It is unlikely that the best sports and horse racing betting sites or apps will only have positives, as there are usually areas that are lacking.

You just have to think about what is important to you and judge accordingly. I have gone through Dabble and put together a list of the top pros and cons of the app, which you can see in this section.

Dabble Strengths

The key pros of Dabble that you should know include:

  • First to market with social betting - This includes the likes of; follow others, banter and copy bets.
  • Solid range of betting markets - Great selection of betting markets across both sports and racing events (including same race/ game multis).
  • Instant withdrawals - Some bettors have reported withdrawals as quick as a few seconds.
  • Live streaming - You can stream a variety of racing events through the Dabble app.
  • SGM tracker - Follow along and see how your SGM is going by using the tracker.

Dabble Weaknesses

The key pros of Dabble that you should know include:

  • No desktop betting - If you prefer to bet using your desktop computer, this isn’t available at Dabble.
  • No live betting - Live betting markets also aren’t currently available through the Dabble app.

Dabble Verdict

Dabble is truly leading and pushing the big bookies further than any other of the small betting sites. The big boys are even copying some of the social betting features that Dabble features. If you’re into something a little out of the box, Dabble is perfect.

They offer a good range of markets, with everything you could need with a bookie, but also provide unique social betting features. So, if you love betting but also doing it in a more social setting, Dabble should be at the top of your list.

star

Dabble Features

My Dabble betting review will now take a look at all the main features this betting app has to offer. There are certainly a lot of unique features on offer with Dabble, but some of the main features that I think you’ll find the most interesting can be found here in this section.

Follow Others

Whether you want to follow your mates, a tipster or a well-known sports star, like Dane Swan, the choice is yours. Once you follow a Dabbler, their activity will show up in your feed (similar to that of a social media feed), making it easier to copy their bets. You can also set notifications up so that you are more connected with everything they are doing.

It is easy to see what they are betting on as well as see how many others have jumped on the bandwagon as well. You can even work on your own profile and see if you can become a star on the app in your own right. It’s easy to stay connected with the people you want on Dabble.

Betting Feed

This allows you to see the feed of everyone you follow. Dabble has also recently updated the feed to allow for new suggestions of people you might like to follow. Your feed is your go-to place to easily see what everyone in your network is betting on.

Your betting feed works similar to that of a social media feed and it is intuitive, showing you things that they think you want to see. You’ll not only get easy access to everyone you already follow but also opportunities to expand your connections and improve your Dabble experience.

Copy Bet

Another social betting feature, copy bet allows you to easily copy anyone else’s bet. No matter the type of bet they’ve made, you’ll be able to copy it in just a few clicks. You’ll also be able to see how many others have copied that particular bet as well. If you don’t want people seeing what you’re betting on, you can set your profile to private.

The copy bet feature has been very influential in the success of Dabble. You might notice that some of the other major bookies in Australia also have this feature after seeing what Dabble was able to do. Along with copying bets, you can also leave comments on the bet, which you’ll see a lot of, especially if the bet gets up.

Banter Channels

One of the things I love the most about Dabble is the banter channels. You can easily connect with like-minded punters and discuss all the action. There are plenty of banter channels, which are broken down by sport and you can share your bets with others in the relevant channel.

It wouldn’t be a social-first betting company without a little bit of banter! Even if you’re solo betting, you can still feel like you are part of a community by heading to the relevant banter channel. Dabble offers a channel for a variety of sports and racing, of course.

Dabble Racing Offering

Dabble’s racing offering is certainly right up there with some of the best in the industry. When you are on the app, simply navigate to the “Betting” tab and all the next to jump races will be displayed. It is also easy to filter, so you can find the exact race you are looking for.

There is a decent range of markets across all three racing codes and they have events from both Australia and internationally. If Dabble offers live streaming for a specific race, you will see the “Sky” logo next to the event before tapping on it.

On each specific race screen, there are two main tabs, “Markets” and “Activity”. The “Markets” tab provides all the different markets available for the event like; win/ place, trifecta, quaddie, exacta and more.

As well as this, you can check out the fluctuations of each runner, statistics, comments and the speed map. This is a great addition that we see the majority of the biggest bookies in Australia offer and it certainly helps bettors make their decision.

In the “Activity” tab, you can see what others have bet on for the race. If other Dabblers have left a comment about the bet, you can see that as well, along with how many others have copied that bet. This effectively acts as horse racing tips, which makes Dabble an easy place to bet on racing.

Another reason that Dabble is one of the best horse racing betting sites or greyhound betting sites is their promotions. They offer a truly unique range of promotions, along with all the typical racing promotions that you can find across the board. I’ll talk more about the bonuses and promotions available with Dabble later in this review.

I had a quick look around at some of the racing odds on offer and most of the time, Dabble’s odds were on par with some of the other biggest bookies in the market. There weren’t many times that I found Dabble’s odds were better, but they weren’t usually worse.

Overall, Dabble’s racing offering really shines. They offer a unique approach thanks to their social betting features that are fully integrated with their racing offering. If you’re interested in more than just simply betting on the races but want to be a part of something bigger, Dabble is a great option.

market-variety

Dabble Sports Offering

Racing isn’t the only area that Dabble excels in. If you’re more of a sports bettor, Dabble has a lot to offer. Once you’re in the “Betting” section of their app, flick over to the “Sports” option at the top of the screen. There, you will be treated to a wide variety of different sports to choose from.

One of the newly introduced options in the Pick’Em markets, where you can pick more or less on player stats and win up to 1,500x your stake. They also provide “Daily Dabble” which includes special markets across different sporting events like NRL and AFL.

I would consider Dabble to be one of the best NBA betting sites and tennis betting sites due to the range of markets available and the social-first aspects like the NBA and tennis-related banter channels and “Activity” tab where you can see what everyone else is betting on.

Dabble even offers a wide variety of markets for esports as well, so if you’re on the hunt for one of the premier esports betting sites in Australia, Dabble should be one of your top considerations. You’ll find sports like golf, MMA, motorsport, darts, cricket, soccer, snooker and more available at Dabble.

dabble screenshot

As I mentioned previously, each event will have an “Activity” tab, so you can see what others are betting on and this sort of acts like your tips for the event. Where Dabble can improve is adding more insights, stats and tips from professionals. For example, adding NBA tips, EPL tips, AFL tips and NRL tips, would be a great place to start.

Much like the case for racing, Dabble offers some unique promotions available for sports events, especially for the more popular sports like AFL and NRL. Their odds are also usually on par with some of the biggest players in the game. I’ll talk more about these two aspects in more detail soon!

In the end, Dabble’s social betting aspect is where they shine for their sports offering. Put simply, they offer things that others don’t and that others are starting to copy. So, if you want to stick with the original social betting bookie for all things sports betting, it has to be Dabble.

Dabble Odds

When push comes to shove, the most important aspect that bettors believe bookies offer is their odds. You could have all the funky features in the world, but if your odds are significantly lower than your competitors, it’s not worth betting.

If you look across any sports or racing event, you’ll notice that different bookies offer different odds for the same market. There are a lot of aspects that will impact the odds and because they are different regularly, it can certainly pay to shop around.

While you may not think a small difference in the odds won’t make a major impact, if you are a regular bettor, it can really add up over time. On top of this, if you like to splash your cash, the difference between $2.00 and $2.05 in the odds can also add up.

When it comes to Dabble online betting, it’s important to see how their odds stack up with their competitors. Honestly, Dabble’s odds are nothing to write home about, but you can sometimes find a few markets that have decent odds that are worth jumping on.

There are many areas that Dabble will exceed your expectations in, but you probably won’t come to Dabble for its hyper-competitive odds, you come to Dabble for the innovative social betting features, which makes you feel like you are a part of something bigger.

Looking at AFL and NRL specifically, for the head-to-head market, I’ve found they do sometimes have a decent odds offering. For racing, I found they were usually on par with the odds for the favourite. So, make sure you keep your eyes peeled as you never know when you are going to find a difference in odds that is worth jumping on.

features

Dabble Australia Markets & Bet Types

When reviewing bookies, another important aspect is the betting markets on offer. The more markets available, the wider the appeal of the bookie. Not only does Dabble cover a solid range of sports and racing codes, but the range of bet types is growing as well.

Dabble offers all the typical markets you would expect when it comes to racing, including exotic bet types. You can place bets on horse, greyhound and harness racing with Dabble. On top of this, you can live stream racing, which is easy to do while placing your bets.

Dabble have also recently introduced quaddies to their selection of markets available for racing events. Dabblers were asking for quaddies and Dabble delivered, putting them on par with many of the other major betting sites.

They also have “Daily Dabbles” markets which are offered across multiple different areas like AFL, racing, NRL and golf. When looking at the AFL and NRL in particular, the market offered is jersey bingo, where you bet on all jersey numbers to score a goal or try in a specific round.

As previously mentioned, Dabble also offers Pick’Em markets, which is a completely new approach to betting. With Pick’Em markets, what you have to do is pick whether a player’s stats will go over or under the pre-selected target.

Pick’Em markets are across a variety of sports like the NBA, AFL, NRL, IPL and more. The specific stats you can choose from when putting together your Pick’Em selections include the likes of; points, rebounds, assists, disposals, goals and more (this will depend on the sport you are selecting from).

Throughout my Dabble review process, I’ve found the range of sports they cover is constantly growing and they cover sports like:

  • AFL
  • NRL
  • American Football
  • Basketball
  • Golf
  • Soccer
  • MMA/ Boxing
  • Tennis
  • eSports
  • Darts
  • Motorsports
  • Volleyball

The number of markets available for each specific event may not be at a level you would expect with some of the biggest players in the market, but there is still certainly enough to get by. Their Same Game Multi market is available for major sporting codes like AFL and NRL.

live-streaming

Dabble Live Betting

While it may not be a make-or-break inclusion, more and more bettors are looking for betting sites that offer live betting. These days, live betting is becoming quite popular as it adds another dimension to your betting experience.

Live betting is mostly available for sports-related events as there is more in-play time for you to get your bets sorted. When betting live, you must call the bookmaker, so there needs to be enough time for that process to be placed (which isn’t something we usually see in racing events).

This feature can be quite resource heavy and that is one of the main reasons that not all Australian bookmakers offer it. At this stage, Dabble doesn’t offer live betting to their customers. While it would be a great addition to what is already a quality offering, I don’t think it is a make-or-break feature.

Live betting is more of a nice-to-have feature and there are plenty of other markets available at Dabble, so it’s not like you are missing out on anything major. If you’re the kind of person who prefers to bet live, or place live bets regularly, then you might want to explore options other than Dabble.

betting-apps

Dabble App

If you’re the kind of person who is always on the go, a betting app is essential. The audience that Dabble targets (i.e. the younger audience) is more likely to use their mobile to bet compared to a desktop. If you’re looking for a highly-optimised app experience, Dabble is right up there.

While there is no Dabble betting site where you can place your bets, their app makes up for this! The Dabble app is one of the most well-designed I have ever seen and I know just how much time they put in to ensure everything is pixel perfect.

Dabble Live Stream

The app strikes a perfect balance of betting and social, so if you don’t care much for all the social aspects, you can still easily place your bets. The Dabble community is highlighted well through the app, mainly thanks to the user-friendly design.

Even first-time punters will be able to find what they are looking for without a hitch. Undoubtedly one of the best betting apps, Dabble provides a lot of information to help punters put their best foot forward. From form guide information to bet descriptions from other Dabblers, it’s the place to be!

Live streaming is also available through the app and over time they have developed this into a more user-friendly experience. It is now very easy to place your bets all while watching the latest races live. Dabble takes user feedback seriously and is constantly looking for ways to make their app better.

Dabble is constantly updating their app and it’s more than just simple bug fixes. They even have a banter channel open where Dabblers can provide feedback. There is a lot to like about the app and unlike other bookies, all their resources are funneled into the app and not spread across a website and app.

bonuses

Dabble Promotions

If you’re looking for betting sites with bonuses, Dabble is lacking slightly in the promotions department and you’ll probably find they don’t have as many betting sites bonuses or promotions as some of the major players in the game. But the promotions they do offer are fairly unique, on top of the common offers that are available with almost every bookie.

While I’ve already covered that Dabble offers SGMs, now you can multi your SGM for high odds! This can be done on a variety of sports including AFL, which is why Dabble is known as one of the best AFL betting sites going around.

Another promotion offered is their copy-back special, where you get cash back if your runner finishes second or third in selected races. You don’t need a Dabble betting promo code to claim any of these promotions, you just need to be an existing customer.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve seen Dabble add in more promotions and they are usually pretty unique in the industry. So, if you want something a little different, it is worth checking Dabble out, especially if you’re into arbitrage betting because taking advantage of bonuses can be very helpful.

payment-methods

Dabble Payment Methods

The payment methods currently available with Dabble include:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • PayID
  • Bank Transfer
  • Apple Pay
  • PayPal
  • Google Pay
  • BPAY

Dabble’s withdrawals are so fast, I needed to create an entire section about it! I found their withdrawals to be almost instant and by the time you log in to your bank account, the funds are already there. Dabble proudly states that they are one of the fastest withdrawal betting sites and you can receive withdrawals as fast as 8.74 seconds.

In terms of the options available to punters to withdraw funds, they are quite limited, with just bank transfers available. Your bank needs to be connected to the OSKO payment platform to be eligible for fast withdrawals.

Dabble has just introduced PayPal and BPAY, so they are quickly becoming one of the best PayPal betting sites and BPAY betting sites. However, it is important to note that at this stage, the PayPal deposit method is only available for punters with a Visa.

Dabble has greatly improved with the range of payment methods offered as of late and they offer among some of the biggest range of deposit options. One of the areas that they could improve on is their withdrawal options.

They were one of the first bookmakers to offer almost instant withdrawals and it was an immediate hit with bettors. I believe this to be one of Dabble’s biggest draw cards as not all other bookies offer this, especially the new betting sites that offer withdrawals in one to three business days!

While fast withdrawals aren't going to be make-or-break, the fact that it usually takes just 10 seconds for your withdrawal to hit your bank account is insane. Like with many of the other bookies, Dabble’s deposit options provide instant transactions and there usually aren’t any fees associated with them.

customer-support

Dabble Customer Support

The Dabble support team is always there to lend a helping hand and you can get in touch with them in a variety of different ways. I found the customer service team to be quite responsive and helpful. Others mention the friendly customer service team as well, which is a trend I have seen in their app reviews.

After conducting my Dabble review, the three ways you can get in touch with them include:

  • Live chat (through the app only)
  • Phone (1800 322 253)
  • Email (support@dabble.com.au)

The live chat feature is particularly good and they are available for a significant amount of the day. The turnaround for any of the three above methods of contact is completely reasonable and they are genuinely friendly people who will do their best to get your issue sorted out as quickly as possible.

Dabble’s customer support hours are as follows:

  • Sunday to Wednesday - 8:30am - 8:00pm AEST
  • Thursday - 8:30am - 10:30pm AEST
  • Friday and Saturday - 8:30am - 11:00pm AEST

It would be good to see Dabble’s support hours increase to 24/7, like some of the other more established betting sites in Australia. As we all know, a problem doesn’t wait until normal hours to arise, so having 24/7 customer service would be a big step in the right direction and be helpful to many bettors.

FAQs About Dabble

If you still have some burning questions about the Dabble online betting app, then you have come to the right place! I’ve compiled a list of all the top questions people have when it comes to a Dabble review.

Yes, Dabble is legit! They are licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory Racing Commission. They are not only one of the best Victorian betting sites but also one of the best bookies in Australia, thanks to their unique social betting approach.

As Dabble has the proper licence, they are safe for all Aussies to use. If you have any issues with Dabble, it is easy to get in touch with the customer support team and they will work to resolve your issue as quickly as possible.

TAB recently bought a 20% stake in Dabble and the current CEO of this bookie is Tom Rundle (who is also a co-founder). The other co-founds of Dabble include; Jonathan Robin, Dave Robin and Scott Hutchens.

The Dabble app works just like any other betting app. Once you have downloaded the app, you need to sign up or log in. After you’ve done this, you can deposit funds and choose the sport you want to bet on. NRL is quite popular on Dabble and they have become one of the best NRL betting sites going around.

No, Dabble (or any bookie, for that matter) doesn’t offer sign-up bonuses. Dabble does, however, have heaps of unique promotions that are available for existing customers. You won’t be able to see the majority of these promotions until you log in to your account.

The first thing you need to do is find the sport and market you wish to bet on. Once you’ve found the market you want, click on it and you’ll be shown your bet slip. Finalise how much you wish to stake and if you want to include a bet description, then confirm your bet.
