Can the GWS Giants break their AFL duck in 2024?

News Insights

  • Two big wins have got the GWS Giants off to a great start to the season.
  • Not many people expected the GWS Giants to pull up too many trees this term.
  • The Giants opened up with a huge win over defending champions Collingwood.
  • They backed that up with an equally impressive triumph over North Melbourne.

Gauging where sides are at the beginning of the AFL season is never an easy thing to do and there is always one side that upsets the applecart.

Following a very good end to the 2023 campaign, the GWS Giants have been able to continue their good run and they now look like one of the front runners for the AFL Premiership in 2024 AFL betting sites.

Two from two

On paper, the start of the season could not have been much tougher for the GWS Giants, who were paired against defending champions Collingwood in their opener.

However, the GWS Giants defied plenty of pre-season predictions with the biggest AFL betting sites and made light work of the Magpies.

That result was backed up with a solid win against North Melbourne and consequently, the GWS Giants have made the perfect start to the season.

Points on the board

Many of the issues for the GWS Giants last season came in attacking areas, as they struggled to trouble opposition defences.

However, the GWS Giants have been flying in their opening two games and look to be a side rejuvenated.

Bagging over 110 points in both games, including a whopping 114-point haul against Collingwood, the GWS Giants look to have their attacking game on point currently.

Plenty of others in the mix

Whilst the GWS Giants are sat at the top of the table, there have been plenty of other sides that have started the season brightly.

Both Sydney and Carlton have been tipped by many AFL betting apps and they too have won two out of their two games played this season.

Meanwhile, Gold Coast have also been in good form in their opening two games and they too will be dreaming of a successful campaign in 2024.
