There are more unbeaten records on the line in the AFL this season, following Geelong’s defeat to Melbourne last weekend and things remain all to play for. The race for the league leader’s shield, the playoffs and to avoid the wooden spoon this season all come into sharp focus with AFL punters and AFL betting sites.

Carlton vs Melbourne

Two sides chasing down a playoff spot hard this season meet here, as old foes Carlton and Melbourne square off. For the blues, addressing their recent blip in form will be their priority but they remain one of the favourites for the AFL Premiership with some punters and AFL betting sites. Meanwhile, Melbourne are a side going places, exemplified by their win over Geelong last weekend and they will need to back that up here. That said, Carlton are going well at home, and they should pick up an important win in this one.

Geelong vs Port Adelaide

Bouncing back will be the order of the day here for Geelong, who take on Port Adelaide in an intriguing clash at GMHBA. The Cats saw their 100% record winning streak come to an end against Melbourne last weekend, but they are still in the running for the AFL title with many plenty punters and small betting sites. Port Adelaide meanwhile will be reeling from their Adelaide derby thumping last weekend and they need a response here too. With both sides needing wins, Geelong’s quality could see them over the line.

Fremantle vs Sydney

Following their impressive Sydney derby last weekend, the Swans hit the road here to take on Fremantle. A stunning start to the season has been checked a little by Fremantle in recent weeks but the playoffs do look to be well within reach for the Dockers. Sydney meanwhile are ticking along superbly this term, and they look to have the makings of a side that could also go all the way in AFL 2024. This should be a belter, with the Sydney Swans perhaps having the knowhow to pick up the win.

Hawthorn vs St Kilda

Following their impressive win on the road at the Western Bulldogs last weekend, Hawthorn will be out to build upon that against St Kilda. The Hawks have shown glimmers of hope this season, but their lack of consistency does look to be an issue for them in 2024. Meanwhile, St Kilda have hit a bit of a wall themselves and they need to get back to winning ways quickly this term. This should be a good one, with St Kilda potentially having the firepower to succeed and they are the favourites for this one with many punters and AFL betting sites.

Essendon vs GWS Giants

A pair of sides that could do with a win face off here, as Essendon take on the GWS Giants. For the Bombers, building on their recently improved showings and displaying consistency is their aim, in a game that should suit their playing style. The GWS Giants meanwhile lost heavily to old foes the Sydney Swans last time out, a result they are sure to still be reeling from. This should be a very good game, with home advantage potentially telling for Essendon.

Gold Coast vs North Melbourne

The picture at North Melbourne continues to get bleaker and they look to be struggling to pick up a win at any stage of this season in the eyes of many punters and AFL betting sites. Next up is a trip to Gold Coast, a side that have flattered to deceive a little this season and who themselves need to start stringing results together. This one won’t be as one-sided as the odds suggest but Gold Coast should have too much about them for this struggling North Melbourne outfit.

Richmond vs Western Bulldogs

Another pair of sides struggling for consistency and form meet here, as Richmond host the Western Bulldogs. Richmond have just one win on the card this season and are looking low on confidence, but they know that there is plenty of footy to be played and they have time to turn things around. A loss to Hawthorn last weekend came as a shock to all connected with the Western Bulldogs and they know they need to bounce back in this one. This could be cagey, with the Bulldogs potentially having enough in the tank to win it.

Collingwood vs West Coast

Defending AFL champions Collingwood have endured some rough luck at the start of the 2024 season, but they continue to show resolve. Next up is a tie against the West Coast Eagles, a side who are constantly improving and who should be bang up for this challenge against the Magpies. That said, Collingwood do look to be turning the corner and in front of their home fans, how they would love to run riot here and rack up some serious points on the board.

Adelaide vs Brisbane

Two sides with identical records in the AFL table finish off the weekly programme here, as Adelaide take on Brisbane. The Crows thrashed local rivals Port Adelaide last weekend and have been saving their best performances for the big teams in the division this season. Meanwhile, the Brisbane Lions got back to winning ways last week, but they remain in a bit of a funk, and they will want to pick up a win here. This is a tough one to call, with neither side in great form but perhaps Adelaide could get the job done at home,
