NRL Multi Bet of the Weekend

9 weeks into the NRL season and what a season it has been! This week was just as exciting as previous weeks, with moments such as the Tigers securing a heroic victory against the Panthers and the Raiders edging the Dolphins in golden point. After hitting our multi at over $7 last week, we are back this week at Magic Round and we have found some value across Betting Sites on the Panthers looking to bounce back, the well-rested Storm and a struggling Dragons side.

New Zealand Warriors vs Penrith Panthers

May 6th, 15:00, Suncorp Stadium

The Warriors face off against the Panthers to kick off our Super Saturday at Magic Round. The Panthers are coming off a very disappointing loss to the Tigers in the pouring rain, putting them at a surprisingly disappointing 4-4 record, sitting all the way down at 7th place. While the Warriors were flying high, sitting in the top 4, they have now picked up back-to-back losses and are sitting at 8th spot after failing to score against the Roosters.

While the Panthers were poor, I will cut them some slack due to the rain. They were unable to play their usual expansive footy, with the game being about competition and tough runs through the middle. This week the Panthers could be welcoming back star prop James Fisher Harris while the Warriors are still suffering heavily from injury, missing Harris, Nicoll-Klokstad, Tevaga and many more. The Panthers have won all of their last 8 games against the Warriors and should have a point to prove on Saturday. For these reasons I am taking the Panthers halftime/fulltime double @1.65 on PlayUp.

Melbourne Storm vs South Sydney Rabbitohs

May 6th, 19:45, Suncorp Stadium

Our Saturday night game is the game of the round as we have a top 4 clash with the Storm facing the Rabbitohs. Both sides are true contenders this season, with the Rabbitohs in incredible form, winning 4 in a row on the back of Latrell Mitchell, Cody Walker and star center Campbell Graham. The Storm are coming into this game well rested, having the bye last week. While the bye may seem insignificant, the Storm have had an extra week to prepare for this tough fixture and teams coming off the bye are 6-2 so far this year.

While the Rabbitohs stars have been on absolute fire, if there is any coach who can formulate a game plan to shut them down it is Craig Bellamy. The Storm got the victory in this fixture in Round 5 away at Accor Stadium and have held the Rabbitohs to 18 points or less in 7 of their last 8 games. I think Melbourne should be well prepared and come out with a strict plan to shut down the Rabbitohs, in particular Latrell Mitchell and that is why I am taking the Rabbitohs team total under 20.5 @1.85 on Bet365.

Wests Tigers vs St George Illawarra Dragons

May 7th, 13:50, Suncorp Stadium

For our final leg of our Multi of the Week, we look at the Tigers facing off against the Dragons. These sides couldn’t have had more contrasting weeks last week, with the Tigers getting their first win of the year against the Panthers of all teams, while the Dragons lost against a very depleted Bulldogs side. Both sides currently sit in the bottom 3 but I would argue their seasons have been very different.

The Dragons are currently on a 4-game losing streak, however, they have lost by a combined 11 points across the 4 games! The Dragons have been very competitive in each of their matches with positive signs from star Ben Hunt as well as promising performances from young fullback Tyrell Sloan. The Dragons have been very unlucky to be in the situation they currently are and will see this fixture as an absolute must win. The Tigers on the other hand will likely be very drained after an emotional victory and I think it will be hard for them to back up their performance. In the dry conditions I like the Dragons to win @1.71 on BoomBet.
