What does the future hold for David Moyes and West Ham?

News Insights

  • David Moyes has enjoyed a successful second spell as West Ham manager.
  • The Scot oversaw West Ham’s Europa Conference Lague win in 2023.
  • Pressure appears to be mounting on Moyes, however.
  • Replacements are lining up at the London Olympic Stadium.

David Moyes has carved out a reputation and career as one of the most prolific managers in the Premier League for the best part of two decades.

At Everton and now West Ham, Moyes’s inimitable style of play has seen his sides move up the table pragmatically.

However, his time at West Ham looks to be coming to an end, following a stagnant season and the future looks uncertain for both Moyes and the Hammers.

Magic Moyes

With the exception of his ill-fated spell at Manchester United in 2013-14, David Moyes has been an undeniable success in every job he has taken.

Since returning to West ham in 2019, David Moyes has overseen a period of stability at the club – who had been dropping into the Championship with regularity prior to his arrival.

West Ham currently sit 9th in the Premier League table and qualification for Europe next season is still an outside shot for many punters and EPL betting sites

Hammers folklore

Whatever happens from here on in for David Moyes, his achievements at the London Olympic Stadium cannot be understated.

He oversaw the first European trophy in the club’s rich and fabled history, winning the Europa Conference League title in 2023.

Consequently, his place within the annuls of West Ham will always be secured but there is a feeling within the club that they need to progress further.

What next for West Ham?

David Moyes will see things out until the remainder of the season, with West Ham still to play Manchester City, in a game that could impact the title race with all EPL betting sites

However, former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui is being rumoured to be lined up to replace Moyes in the West Ham hotseat.

Whether he can improve the feeling around West Ham remains to be seen, as the Hammers seek a return to European football from next season onwards.
