Few Premier League goalkeepers in the history of the competition have been as prolific as Hugo Lloris.

Whilst his Tottenham side famously never lifted the trophy, in his 11 seasons at the club, Lloris has always been considered as one of the best keepers in the league.

However, with age catching up on the Frenchman and new arrivals overtaking him in the pecking order at Spurs, Hugo Lloris has left Tottenham and is set to join MLS behemoths LAFC.

Legendary Lloris

Having first joined the club in the summer of 2012, Hugo Lloris arrived from France with a fearsome reputation.

A shot stopper extraordinaire, who was able to play with his feet too, Lloris’s consistency for Tottenham in the Premier League saw him gain the captaincy in 2017.

He was instrumental in Tottenham reaching the Champions League final in 2019, as well as finishing 2nd in the Premier League in 2016 and his association with Tottenham will be long held.

World Cup winner

The ultimate accolade for any international footballer is to win the World Cup and in 2018, Hugo Lloris captained his French side to victory in Russia.

With the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba firing, France were comfortably the best side in the tournament, and they justified their favourtism with many betting apps

Following a 4-2 win over Croatia in the final, Lloris lifted the World Cup trophy, as France won the FIFA World Cup for the second time.

Ange’s Spurs Revolution

The demise of Hugo Lloris at Tottenham began last season but the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager saw Lloris demoted to 3rd choice keeper.

Guglielmo Vicario has been signed from Empoli in the summer and the Italian international has been getting rave reviews for his performances.

England keeper Fraser Forster is currently number two at Spurs and with both men at the peak of their powers, they have ousted Lloris within the Tottenham setup.

Postecoglou has enjoyed an instant impact at Tottenham Hotspur and Spurs are currently well placed to finish in the Premier League’s top 4 at $2.50 with GetSetBet
