EPL 2023/24 Matchweek 36

With Aston Villa now the only English representative in European football this season, attention now fully turns to the final weeks of the Premier League with all EPL betting sites. Arsenal and Manchester City look to be locked in a title battle, whilst 2 from Luton Town, Burnley and Nottingham Forest will be joining Sheffield United in the Championship next season.

Matchweek 36 Fixtures

Luton Town vs Everton

Kenilworth Road, 4th May 2024 – 08.00

Three wins on the spin have enabled Everton to secure their Premier League status for next season and they will want to end the campaign strongly on the road at Luton Town here. For the hosts, the picture continues to become murkier, with Nottingham Forest above them and Burnley below them ramping the pressure up and they are now one of the favourites for the drop with many soccer betting sites. Calling this one is tough, with Luton having plenty to play for and in theory, Everton not and consequently, this could turn out to be a draw in Berkshire.

Arsenal vs Bournemouth

Emirates Stadium, 5th May 2024 – 00.30

Arsenal will need to make the first move in the title race again this weekend, as they take on Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners have found resolve in places they haven’t been able to previously and are pushing Manchester City all the way at the top of the table. Meanwhile, Bournemouth will be looking to continue their excellent recent form and usurp the Gunners in their time of need. This should be a good game and whilst Bournemouth will make this tough, Arsenal should prevail comfortably.

Brentford vs Fulham

Gtech Community Stadium, 5th May 2024 – 03.00

A West London derby is on the agenda for Brentford and Fulham, two sides that looks to be eying up next season already. Brentford have secured their EPL status for next season but continue to struggle for consistency and they will want to put on show here for their home fans. Meanwhile Fulham, have been going along nicely for most of the campaign but they too have struggled for consistency at key moments in the season. This should be a good game, with a score draw potentially on the cards.

Burnley vs Newcastle United

Turf Moor, 5th May 2024 – 03.00

A recent resurgence has seen Burnley fire themselves back into contention to stay in the Premier League this season and they welcome Newcastle United to Lancashire next. The Clarets looked dead and buried until a few games ago, but they now look ready to push on in pursuit of both Luton Town and Nottingham Forest above them. Newcastle meanwhile are pushing hard to finish in the top 6 this season, despite some inconsistent away form of late. This will be a good one, with a draw looking likely.

Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest

Bramall Lane, 5th May 2024 – 03.00

Already relegated Sheffield United will be looking to salvage an inch of pride, as they take on fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest. The Blades have struggled with every aspect of the Premier League this season and they look to have a huge rebuilding job on their hands in the Championship next year. Nottingham Forest meanwhile still have their fate in their own hands, but they know that they need to start picking up points quickly in their survival push. This will be cagey, but Forest need a win and they should get one here.

Manchester City vs Wolves

Etihad Stadium, 5th May 2024 – 05.30

Champions Manchester City are in action once again, as they look to take another big step towards the Premier League title against Wolves. City dug deep to overcome Nottingham Forest last weekend and they know that 4 more wins would make them champions, for the 4th season in a row. Wolves meanwhile did manage to beat City earlier in the season, but they have struggled for form of late and City should just about squeeze past them and move a step closer to Arsenal above them.

Chelsea vs West Ham United

Stamford Bridge, 6th May 2024 – 02.00

A London derby between Chelsea and West Ham is always a big date in the calendar but with these two sides lacking things to play for, its usual bite may not be present here. Chelsea showed real heart at Aston Villa last time out to pick up a point, but they have been inconsistent all season and backing them in any game is a complete and utter lottery. West Ham meanwhile have been plugging away under David Moyes, but they have run their race for the season, with a summer rebuild ahead. This will be a good one, with Chelsea maybe likely to come out on top.

Brighton vs Aston Villa

AMEX Stadium, 6th May 2024 – 02.00

Brighton will be looking to salvage a modicum of pride from their season, as they take on Aston Villa at the AMEX. The Seagulls have been in awful form of late, with goals shipping in defensively and they look as if they want the season to come to an end. Aston Villa meanwhile cannot seem to make 4th spot their own, as they keep giving chances to Tottenham in behind them, but this could be a decisive weekend, with Villa ready to pick up an important win on the road at Brighton.

Liverpool vs Tottenham

Anfield, 6th May 2024 – 04.30

The wheels have fallen off dramatically for Liverpool of late in the Premier League title race and they will want to get back on track here against Tottenham. Few could have foreseen the way in which Liverpool have struggled over the past few games, but they now are fully reliant on slips from both Arsenal and Manchester City. Tottenham are in the same boat, waiting for Aston Villa to falter above them each week but they know that their time is running out in their top 4 push. Anfield will be pumped for this one and t should be a comfortable Liverpool win.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

Selhurst Park,7th May 2024 – 08.00

In a week where Manchester United are apparently looking for a complete squad rebuild; their current bunch must find some inspiration from within to take on Crystal Palace. The Eagles are buzzing under Oliver Glasner, and they look like a side capable of at least challenging in the top half of the Premier League next season. Manchester United look completely lost under Erik ten Hag, with so much uncertainty surrounding the club and every fixture is a soap opera of sorts. This will be a good watch though, with a draw potentially on the cards.
