English Premier League 2024/25 Matchweek 25 – Betting tips & Predictions

After a week off from the Premier League for most teams, normal programming resumes with ten games across three days this weekend. Don’t expect much to change right at the top of the table with both Liverpool and Arsenal set for what should be easy wins, though nothing is guaranteed at this level. The game of the week will see Manchester City take on Newcastle in a game with major top-five implications, while Friday night’s clash between Chelsea and Brighton also looms as an intriguing one. It’s been a solid season for Brighton to date, but things have taken a bit of a turn following consecutive losses – the second of which was a humiliating 7-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest. Those defeats have seen them slip out of reach of the top five, though they did at least bounce back with a 2-1 FA Cup win just a couple of days ago against the team they will resume their EPL campaign against this Friday night.

Arsenal might have had their EFL Cup hopes ended by Newcastle last week, but as far as the Premier League goes they are humming along pretty nicely. The Gunners haven’t lost an EPL game since the beginning of November – incidentally also against Newcastle – and won their most recent game 5-1 against Manchester City. They get a great opportunity to secure another big win and keep touch with Liverpool this weekend.

Bournemouth have had an incredibly tough last few weeks of football, with their last four EPL games all coming against top six teams. But they rose to that challenge in impressive fashion, picking up a 2-2 draw against Chelsea before beating Newcastle 4-1 and then Nottingham Forest 5-0 (!). That run came crashing to an end when Liverpool beat them 2-0, but still, a 2-1-1 record with a 11-5 aggregate score during that stretch was mighty impressive, and they now get a chance to record what should be a much easier win.
