EPL 2023/24 Matchweek 18

Whilst defending Premier League champions Manchester City are off at the FIFA Club World Cup, the rest of the Premier League are tackling business as usual.
Arsenal are now top of the pile, after City and Liverpool slipped up last weekend, whilst Aston Villa and Tottenham are gathering momentum in hot pursuit.

Game week 18 throws up some more belting fixtures, making it an unmissable round of fixtures for all Premier League punters.

Matchweek 18 Fixtures

Crystal Palace vs Brighton

Selhurst Park, 22nd December 2023 – 08.00

Two old foes go head-to-head in East London, as Crystal Palace take on rivals Brighton. This deep-rooted rivalry dates back to the Football League days for both sides and it should be a game well backed with most betting apps

Palace dug deep to pick up a point at Manchester City last time out and whilst they haven’t been at their fluent best this season, they remain a threat against anyone they play.

Brighton meanwhile can tell a similar story, not quite hitting their straps but they remain a good outfit, who should prevail here.

Aston Villa vs Sheffield United

Villa Park, 23rd December 2023 – 08.00

With a chance to head to the top of the Premier League table at Christmas, Aston Villa will be up for the challenge, as they take on Sheffield United.

Villa have been impressive all season under Unai Emery and they are starting to look capable of at least mounting a challenge for a top 4 spot or better.

They take on a Sheffield United side that are rebuilding under Chris Wilder and who have shown glimmers of a recovery but Villa should have way too much for them here.

West Ham United vs Manchester United

London Olympic Stadium, 24th December 2023 – 00.30

Having found form against Wolves last weekend, West Ham will be hoping to keep their good run going, as they take on Manchester United.

The Hammers are going pretty well under David Moyes and games such as these present a chance to have a crack at the big teams.

Manchester United meanwhile picked up a dogged point at Liverpool last time out and whilst they were resolute, they lacked a goal threat.

This should be a good one and a draw looks the likely outcome at the Olympic Stadium.

Nottingham Forest vs Bournemouth

City Ground, 24th December 2023 – 03.00

Managerless Nottingham Forest will be looking to get back on track, as they take on Bournemouth.

Forest sent Steve Cooper packing in the week, a decision that was backed by many soccer betting sites and are now looking for a new man to take the helm.

Bournemouth have been slowly improving in recent weeks and won’t fear this trip up North to Forest.

A new manager always changes the narrative and this could be an entertaining draw in the East Midlands.

Tottenham vs Everton

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, 24th December 2023 – 03.00

Two in-form sides face off in North London, as Tottenham take on Everton.

Spurs bounced back from three consecutive defeats in style recently and they are starting to justify their early season hype.

Everton meanwhile won well at Burnley last weekend and they are climbing away from trouble, despite their 10-point deduction.

This should be a very good game, with both sides sure to go at it and Tottenham should pick up another important win.

Fulham vs Burnley

Craven Cottage, 24th December 2023 – 03.00

Two sides eager to pull away from any potential relegation trouble do battle, as Burnley travel to Fulham.

The Cottagers have been hitting form in recent weeks, particularly at home and they will feel confident heading into this one.

Burnley meanwhile were well thumped by Everton last weekend, and they need to start picking up points if they are to avoid a basement scrap.

Fulham will fancy their chances here and they should come out on top at home.

Luton Town vs Newcastle United

Kenilworth Road, 24th December 2023 – 03.00

Having seen their captain collapse on the pitch last time out, the atmosphere at Kenilworth Road will be fully charged for Luton vs Newcastle United.

The Hatters are going pretty well this season, and they tend to ramp up their game when they take on the bigger sides.

Newcastle United meanwhile have been inconsistent this term but recent signs at St James’s Park have been pretty positive.

This should be a very good one, with Newcastle United surely too strong for Luton Town.

Liverpool vs Arsenal

Anfield, 24th December 2023 – 05.30

Two of the high flyers in the Premier League go at it, with Liverpool taking on Arsenal at Anfield.

Both sides are being backed to the hilt with many betting sites to win the league and they look well placed to challenge for honours this term.

Calling this one is tough and not losing may well be the priority, making this potentially a very entertaining draw.

Wolves vs Chelsea

Molineux, 25th December 2023 – 01.00

The final fixture before Christmas pitches Wolves against Chelsea, in what should be an excellent fixture at Molineux.

Wolves haven’t been able to generate any consistency this season but they are always a threat, particularly in front of their own fans at Molineux.

Chelsea will need to be up for this one but having beaten Sheffield United last time out, they should have some confidence in the camp.

This will be a good one and Chelsea will feel confident of picking up a win here.
