Are Manchester United ready to turn things around this season?

News Insights

  • Manchester United endured a tough start to the 2023/24 EPL season.
  • The Red Devils have won their last 3 EPL games however and have climbed to 6th.
  • Erik ten Hag has entrusted younger players, and the tide looks to be turning.
  • The current Manchester United squad is the most expensively assembled in football history.

After winning the Carabao Cup last season and finishing in 3rd place in the Premier League, many punters and EPL betting sites expected Manchester United to kick on this term.

However, the Red Devils have lacked consistency this term, with new signings failing to settle and the pressure has been ramped up on Erik ten Hag.

However, progressing to the last 16 of the FA Cup and stringing some Premier League wins together of late could prove to be just the tonic for Manchester United this term.

Early season struggles

With 20 games played this term, Manchester United had lost 9 of them and they were firmly immersed in the mid-table battle.

New signings had failed to settle, with Rasmus Hojlund struggling for goals and Antony looking continually lost in attacking areas.

A 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth was a real low point, with some fans inside Old Trafford calling for change and Erik ten Hag was in the hunt for the sack with EPL betting sites

Money, money, money

Off-field change at Old Trafford was seen to be a new dawn, but the Red Devils were not translating that optimism onto the pitch.

Spending over £1 billion over the past decade has yet to have the desired effect, with the Carabao Cup of 2023 the only major trophy won by the club since 2017.

Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez are just three of a whole ream of recent acquisitions that have spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch.

Is the tide turning?

Yet for all the relative pessimism surrounding Manchester United, they are in the hunt for a top 4 spot again this season.

Wins over Wolves, West Ham United and Aston Villa have propelled the Red Devils back into the hunt and they have both Tottenham and Aston Villa in their sights.

With Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund now scoring regularly, United are going well and could well be in the top 4 shakeup come the end of the season at $13.00 with BoomBet
