Wests Tigers vs Canberra Raiders

In a battle between two teams from opposing ends of the table, the 13th-placed Tigers will host the second-placed Raiders at Campbelltown Stadium on Friday night. Betting apps, therefore, see the Raiders as the ultimate favourites in this clash, but what do we have the same view?

The Tigers’ loss to Penrith last week was their fourth consecutive defeat. On the contrary, the Raiders saw off the Rabbitohs when they were in action last time around, which was their fourth win in a row. The Raiders can match the Bulldogs’ 26-point tally should they win against the Raiders. With momentum swinging in their favour, we expect Canberra to extend their winning run with a victory over the Tigers.

New Zealand Warriors vs Penrith Panthers

Hoping to break into the finals zone for the first time this season, the Panthers will look to continue their resurgent run against a formidable Warriors side. After a nightmare start to their season, Penrith have steadied the ship (somewhat) with three wins in their last five games.

Ivan Cleary’s men face a stern test in their upcoming fixture, however, as they go to the Warrior’s den to play a side that sit third on the ladder and who are looking to pick up their third win in a row. The Panthers have shown remarkable defensive form in recent games, which could be the difference in this matchup. We’re not convinced they’ll get the W here, but back them to keep it tight at least.

Dolphins vs Newcastle Knights

The last two meetings between the Dolphins and Knights were both decided by a single point, but it doesn’t seem that we are going to see such a tight affair once again when these two sides meet on Saturday.

Something clearly clicked at the Dolphins camp after their loss to the Warriors last month. Since then, they’ve been ruthless—racking up 158 points across their last three games while holding each of their opponents to single-digit scores.

The Knights may sit 15th on the ladder, but there have been signs of a turnaround. They've held their opponents to under 30 points in each of their last six games, winning three of them. Still, they lack the firepower needed to halt the Dolphins, who have been a juggernaut in recent weeks.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Melbourne Storm

The Rabbitohs and Storm renew their rivalry two months after their first meeting of the season. The Storm won that match 24-16 in Melbourne, and as things stand, this clash may well follow a similar script in Sydney.

Craig Bellamy’s men have been one of the most in-form teams this season and they have kept their charge going with consecutive wins. The Rabbitohs, on the other hand, have lost the early flair they showed under Wayne Bennett in recent weeks. They will be hoping to avoid their fourth successive defeat when they walk out of the tunnel on Saturday night. We’re not confident they’ll do so.

Brisbane Broncos vs Cronulla Sharks

After snapping their respective losing streaks in their last game, the Broncos and Sharks are chasing back-to-back wins, but only one can take the next step forward. Brisbane enter the fray as slight favourites being the home side, but the Sharks will not be an easy team to beat.

The Cronulla outfit enjoyed a 22-12 win the last time they played away against the Broncos. Blayke Brailey, Braydon Trindall, Siosifa Talakai, and Sione Katoa were the try-scorers for the Sharks in that game, and all four of them are expected to line up against the Broncos at Suncorp on Sunday afternoon. We’re picking they’ll grab the points here against the odds.

Sydney Roosters vs North Queensland Cowboys

The Cowboys have looked out of gas in recent weeks and paid the price for their inefficiencies in a ruthless defeat to the Dolphins. Now, they face the tough task of regrouping against a Roosters side that’s growing in confidence.

The Roosters have won two of their last three games and will count themselves unlucky not to have edged the Raiders in a narrow 26-24 defeat earlier in the month. With the Cowboys out of sorts, they’ll back themselves to grab another win and strengthen their position in the top half of the table. The raucous Allianz Arena atmosphere could make the task even more daunting for the visiting Cowboys side.

Parramatta Eels vs Gold Coast Titans

The Eels and the Titans have been the two worst sides of the season so far and they will be facing off against each other in a potential wooden spoon decider on Sunday. Betting apps have assigned close odds for this match, which suggests this is going to be a nail-biter.

At this point, there seems little to separate the two sides. Both teams have won twice in their last five games. However, the Titans are the side that have tasted victory more recently. They defeated the Sea Eagles in their last match, while the Eels have suffered losses in their last two outings. However, we’re giving the Eels the benefit of the doubt, largely due to their home advantage.
