Top betting sites are ready with their NRL odds as we approach the eighth round of action in 2025. The Bulldogs have established themselves as the team to beat and they are expected to outclass an erratic Broncos squad. Meanwhile, Penrith, the reigning champions, will be keen to register back-to-back wins for the first time this season after a rocky start. Brisbane Broncos vs Canterbury Bulldogs

Right now, no team in the NRL is generating more buzz than the Bulldogs. Their defence, in particular, has been nothing short of elite. They have shipped only 58 points across the season, which works out to less than 10 a game.

A spirited but under-strength Warriors outfit overpowered and outworked the Broncos last week. While Brisbane will enjoy a break from Auckland’s wet and wild weather, they’ll still be up against a Bulldogs side brimming with form and confidence.

Michael Maguire’s men will look to play an attacking brand of footy in front of their home crowd at Suncorp, but breaching the Bulldogs' watertight defence may prove a tall order.

Sydney Roosters vs St George Illawarra Dragons

The Roosters were up against fellow strugglers Penrith Panthers last round, but they failed to capitalise on the chance to complete a season double against the reigning premiers. After a 40-12 hammering last weekend, the Tri Colours are now preparing to host the seventh-placed Dragons.

The Dragons edged out the Sea Eagles 20-18 at Brookvale Oval on Thursday, handing them their third loss in a row. Shane Flanagan's team has now won three of their last four, heading into this next tie with plenty of confidence.

The Roosters are on an eight-match winning streak at home against the Dragons, but it’s impossible to deny the current form of the two teams. So, we are expecting the Dragons to win here.

New Zealand Warriors vs Newcastle Knights

In one of the wildest finishes in recent memory, Luke Metcalf nailed a golden point penalty from halfway to hand the Warriors a dramatic win over Brisbane. After that sensational result, the Warriors are set to return to action this Friday.

They will be favourites against a Knights team that has suffered four defeats in a row. Adam O’Brien faces mounting pressure to halt the slide, but recent history offers little comfort – his side has lost their last three away games against the Warriors.

The return of Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad to the Warriors squad should make it easier for the hosts to cruise to a win and we like their odds on NRL betting sites.

Melbourne Storm vs South Sydney Rabbitohs

Storm coach Craig Bellamy was left speechless after watching his side race to an early lead with three tries, only to collapse and concede the next seven in a heavy defeat to the Dolphins on Friday night. Bellamy, visibly shocked, admitted he hadn’t witnessed a collapse like that in the last 23 years.

The Storm will be eager to get back on track against the Rabbitohs, who were held scoreless by a disciplined Bulldogs defence in their most recent match. South Sydney had been in good form prior to that and will want to put that performance behind them.

Melbourne should be too strong for the Rabbitohs, so Wayne Bennett’s team might have to wait a bit longer for their redemption win.

North Queensland Cowboys vs Gold Coast Titans

The Cowboys, aiming for a fourth straight win, will meet the Titans on Saturday at Queensland Country Bank Stadium. The Queensland side benefits from a week off, providing them with a rest advantage over a 2-4 Titans team.

In stark contrast to their Saturday hosts, Gold Coast have lost their last three games. The Titans have missed the likes of David Fifita and Jayden Campbell in recent weeks. While there have been individual flashes of brilliance, they need to find the right chemistry to get out of their losing streak.

With the teams heading in completely different directions form-wise, it’s hard to see anything but a Cowboys victory here.

Penrith Panthers vs Manly Sea Eagles

Panthers fans are still coming to terms with their team’s place near the foot of the ladder, just above the Roosters and Eels. That said, their emphatic 40-12 win over the Roosters last weekend might just be the spark they need to turn things around.

The result will ease some pressure off Ivan Cleary’s shoulders, as his side lit up the second half with four tries, including memorable firsts for Isaiah Papali’i and Blaize Talagi, to blow past the Roosters.

Manly’s form, meanwhile, has dipped sharply with three losses in a row, and they'll need to find immediate solutions to their piling problems.

A spirited second half comeback against the Dragons at 4 Pines Park last week did not prove enough to avoid another defeat. The absence of Tom Trbojevic was glaring under the Thursday night lights, but the fullback could offer a timely boost with a return on the cards this weekend.

This one could go either way, but with Trbojevic back in the mix, the Sea Eagles might just have too much firepower for a Panthers side still searching for top form.

Canberra Raiders vs Dolphins

A dominant display from Hudson Young propelled Canberra to a 30-20 victory over the Gold Coast Titans and catapulted Ricky Stuart’s team into third place. Now, they must see off the Dolphins to keep their winning run alive.

Thanks to Hudson Young’s incredible scoring streak, the Raiders look unstoppable, having netted no less than 104 points in their last three matches. However, their Sunday afternoon visitors are also in impressive attacking form, with 108 points scored over their last three matches.

This is shaping up to be an incredible points-fest that could go either way. Wagering on the over market is a must in this one.

Wests Tigers vs Cronulla Sharks

Despite winning three games this season, the Wests Tigers have failed to clinch a victory in front of their own fans. Coach Benji Marshall watched his side suffer another home loss last weekend, with the team falling to the Eels, who are at the bottom of the table.

The Tigers will be eager to end their home ground woes and secure a crucial victory against the Sharks. Cronulla, on the other hand, are aiming to extend their winning run to three matches.

The Sharks have won four of the last five editions of this fixture. It also has been a high-scoring affair, with one team reaching 30 points or more in each of the past five meetings, so we like the over market on betting apps for this one too.
