Melbourne Storm vs Penrith Panthers
The Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers will recreate their 2024 NRL Grand Final clash at AAMI Park on Thursday evening.
The reigning premiers suffered their first defeat of the season in their last match as they fell six points short of the Roosters in a 38-32 upset. Now, they must go to a venue where they have won only once in nine visits.
The Storm have carried on their strong form from last season to their current campaign. They have dominated the Panthers at home historically. As things stand, it should be another win for Craig Bellamy’s troops.
Dylan Edwards will not be able to feature for the away side after picking up a groin injury. This further tips the balance toward the hosts in this matchup, and we’re tipping they’ll go big here.

New Zealand Warriors vs Sydney Roosters
The Warriors will look to build on their statement win against the Sea Eagles, as they step onto the Go Media Stadium pitch for a second successive home match.
This time, the New Zealanders will be locking horns with the Roosters, a team that also bounced back from their opening-round misery in the last game. The Sydney side picked up a remarkable win against the Panthers after their disastrous opener against the Broncos.
Betting sites are expecting this to be a close contest, but we’re siding with the Warriors because of their home advantage. The Roosters did complete the double over the Warriors last year, but the Kiwi side seem to be in better shape this year.

Brisbane Broncos vs North Queensland Cowboys
The high-flying Broncos crashed down to earth against the Raiders last week. After two matches on the road, the Broncos will play their first home match of the season. Michael Maguire’s men will be confident of picking up an easy win in front of their fans as they host a Cowboys side searching for their first win.
The Cowboys suffered heavy defeats to the Sea Eagles and Sharks in their first two matches of the season. So, the chances of them ending their three-year wait for a Queensland derby win on Friday night are looking slim.
Official Squads
Broncos: 1. Reece Walsh 2. Selwyn Cobbo 3. Deine Mariner 4. Gehamat Shibasaki 5. Jesse Arthars 6. Ben Hunt 7. Adam Reynolds 8. Patrick Carrigan 9. Cory Paix 10. Payne Haas 11. Brendan Piakura 12. Kai O'Donnell 13. Reuben Cotter 14. Jeremiah Nanai 15. Jason Taumalolo 16. Griffin Neame 17. Coen Hess
Cronulla Sharks vs South Sydney Rabbitohs
Wayne Bennett will take his rejuvenated Rabbitohs side to Shark Park this weekend. The South Sydney outfit appear determined to leave their disastrous 2024 campaign behind and have started the new season with back-to-back wins.
The Sharks, meanwhile, have a win and a loss to show for their first two outings. After a narrow defeat to the Panthers, the 2016 champions broke their duck against a dismal Cowboys side in their last match.
While Cronulla won both home and away against the Rabbitohs last season, they have lost three of their last five home games against the South Sydney side. The Rabbitohs look excellent under Bennett this season, so we will back a Rabbitohs win here.
Official Squads
Sharks: 1. William Kennedy 2. Samuel Stonestreet 3. Jesse Ramien 4. Kayal Iro 5. Ronaldo Mulitalo 6. Braydon Trindall 7. Nicho Hynes 8. Addin Fonua-Blake 9. Blayke Brailey 10. Oregon Kaufusi 11. Briton Nikora 12. Teig Wilton 13. Cameron McInnes 14. Daniel Atkinson 15. Siosifa Talakai 16. Braden Hamlin-Uele 17. Thomas Hazelton
Rabbitohs: 1. Jye Gray 2. Isaiah Tass 3. Jack Wighton 4. Campbell Graham 5. Mikaele Ravalawa 6. Cody Walker 7. Jamie Humphreys 8. Sean Keppie 9. Peter Mamouzelos 10. Davvy Moale 11. Keaon Koloamatangi 12. Jai Arrow 13. Siliva Havili 14. Jayden Sullivan 15. Tevita Tatola 16. Jacob Host 17. Liam Le Blanc
Redcliffe Dolphins vs Wests Tigers
The Dolphins are set to host last year’s Wooden Spoon winners for some Saturday evening footy as they seek to pick up their first win of the season after two demoralising defeats.
The Tigers have found a new lease of life under Benji Marshall who assumed head coach duties this year after serving as an assistant coach at the club since 2022. After a narrow defeat to the Knights in their season opener, the Tigers handed the Eels a 32-6 thrashing.
Momentum is with Wests, so we expect them to claim the bragging rights in this one.
Official Squads
Dolphins: 1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow 2. Jamayne Isaako 3. Jake Averillo 4. Herbie Farnworth 5. Jack Bostock 6. Kodi Nikorima 7. Isaiya Katoa 8. Daniel Saifiti 9. Jeremy Marshall-King 10. Felise Kaufusi 11. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki 12. Max Plath 13. Tom Gilbert 14. Kurt Donoghoe 15. Oryn Keeley 16. Mark Nicholls 17. Ray Stone
Tigers: 1. Jahream Bula 2. Sunia Turuva 3. Adam Doueihi 4. Starford To'a 5. Jeral Skelton 6. Lachlan Galvin 7. Jarome Luai 8. Terrell May 9. Apisai Koroisau 10. Fonua Pole 11. Samuela Fainu 12. Alex Seyfarth 13. Alex Twal 14. Tallyn Da Silva 15. Royce Hunt 16. Jack Bird 17. Sione Fainu
Gold Coast Titans vs Newcastle Knights
The Gold Coast Titans suffered another winless start to their campaign as the Bulldogs punished their lethargic approach in the first game. Now, they are up against a Knights team that will be looking to secure their third win on the trot.
Newcastle skipper Kalyn Ponga was instrumental in the Knights’ first two wins and will be hoping to retain his form this week to help styme recent criticism of him.
This should be a straightforward win for Knights as the Titans still seem to lack cohesion.
Official Squads
Titans: 1. Keano Kini 2. 3. Brian Kelly 4. Phillip Sami 5. Jojo Fifita 6. AJ Brimson 7. Jayden Campbell 8. Moeaki Fotuaika 9. Sam Verrills 10. Reagan Campbell-Gillard 11. Klese Haas 12. Beau Fermor 13. Tino Fa'asuamaleaui 14. Chris Randall 15. David Fifita 16. Jaimin Jolliffe 17. Josiah Pahulu
Knights: 1. Kalyn Ponga 2. James Schiller 3. Dane Gagai 4. Bradman Best 5. Greg Marzhew 6. Fletcher Sharpe 7. Jack Cogger 8. Jacob Saifiti 9. Phoenix Crossland 10. Leo Thompson 11. Dylan Lucas 12. Brodie Jones 13. Tyson Frizell 14. Jayden Brailey 15. Jack Hetherington 16. Adam Elliott 17. Mathew Croker
Parramatta Eels vs Canterbury Bulldogs
The bottom-placed Eels will welcome the Bulldogs on Sunday evening. They have an incredible home record against the Bulldogs, but their recent form is far from inspiring.
Canterbury has had a flying start to its 2025 campaign. After winning their first two games, Cameron Ciraldo’s men will look to avoid their sixth successive defeat on the Eels’ home turf.
The hosts are about to get back some key players including Josh Addo-Carr. However, we don’t think they would be able to halt the Bulldogs' momentum.
Bookmaker | Bren’s Tip | Odds |
![]() | Eels not to score 3+ tries | $2.85 |

Jacob Preston 13. Kurt Mann 14. Drew Hutchison 15. Sitili Tupouniua 16. Harry Hayes 17. Daniel Suluka-Fifita
Manly Sea Eagles vs Canberra Raiders
The Sea Eagles and Raiders will play the final match of the week. This is a clash between two sides that have alternated wins in their last nine meetings. If that pattern is to hold, the Raiders are about to win this one.
Recent form also hints toward the same outcome. The Raiders have won both of their matches so far. On the contrary, the Sea Eagles have lost their last two games across all competitions. So, we expect the Raiders to win this match.
Official Squads
Sea Eagles: 1. Lehi Hopoate 2. Jason Saab 3. Tolutau Koula 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Tommy Talau 6. Luke Brooks 7. Daly Cherry-Evans 8. Taniela Paseka 9. Jazz Tevaga 10. Siosiua Taukeiaho 11.
