It’s round two of the NRL already, and there’s plenty of action coming up this weekend. The Melbourne Storm stormed to the top of the table after round one with a dominant win against the Eels. But they won’t be part of the proceedings this week, so the NRL top spot is up for grabs. Here are our expert NRL predictions and tips ahead of this week’s games from the best betting apps.

Newcastle Knights vs Redcliffe Dolphins
After experiencing opposite fates in tight two-point battles in round one, the Knights and Dolphins clash again in a matchup known for its nail-biting finishes. Betting sites, however, believe the hosts are the favourites to bag the bragging rights in this one.
Newcastle could not go ahead of Wests Tigers over the first hour of their match last week, but they held on to the momentum Greg Marzhew gave them in the 67th minute with a fabulous try. The Dolphins, meanwhile, put in a strong showing but were ultimately overrun late by the Rabbitohs.
The Knights are on a three-match winning streak against the Dolphins. Also, they have won their first match and will be playing in front of their home crowd. This should be another victory for Adam O'Brien’s men.

New Zealand Warriors vs Manly Sea Eagles
After storming past the Cowboys, the high-flying Sea Eagles cross the Tasman to take on a Warriors side that are still looking for their first win of the campaign.
A Tom Trbojevic-powered display helped the Manly outfit thrash Cowboys 42-12 at home. Haumole Olakau'atu, Reuben Garrick and Jason Saab combined for six line breaks and over 400 metres of run metres.
Las Vegas did not prove to be a lucky destination for the Warriors as their Stateside adventure ended with a 30-8 defeat to the Raiders. Shaun Johnson’s absence was harshly felt as the Warriors attack struggled to find rhythm throughout the game.
Andrew Webster will hope to see more resilience from his team on home turf. That said, the Warriors have only one victory to show for their last six outings against the Sea Eagles.
We feel more confident backing an away win in this one.

Penrith Panthers vs Sydney Roosters
We correctly predicted the Roosters' easy defeat to the Broncos last week. That said, even we were surprised by their free-falling defence against Brisbane. After conceding 50 points to the Broncos, the Roosters likely aren’t eager to face the defending premiers, as Penrith aim to build on their gritty round one win over the Sharks.
The Sydney outfit endured a tough night at home against a red-hot Broncos side, with veteran forward Victor Radley’s injury worsening their woes.
With 11 days of rest and preparation since their 28-22 win over the Sharks in Vegas, the Panthers are ready to go. Ivan Cleary still has some absentees in his squad, but Brian To'o will return to the starting lineup to give their backline a boost.
The Panthers should be able to carry on the momentum against a fragile Roosters unit. We also expect Izack Tago, who has scored three tries in his last four matches at CommBank Stadium, to score anytime.
Official Squads
Panthers: 1. Dylan Edwards 2. Casey McLean 3. Izack Tago 4. Paul Alamoti 5. Brian To'o 6. Jack Cole 7. Nathan Cleary 8. Moses Leota 9. Mitch Kenny 10. Lindsay Smith 11. Scott Sorensen 12. St George Illawarra Dragons vs South Sydney Rabbitohs
After christening his return to the Rabbitohs with a battling win, Wayne Bennett takes his team to the Dragons’ den. The Dragons were also part of a tight clash against the Bulldogs in round one, but could not prevail till the final whistle.
Jye Gray's immense contribution at fullback, with 25 carries for 280 meters, propelled the Rabbitohs to victory over the Dolphins. Unfortunately, they will have to face the Dragons without Tyrone Munro, who suffered a collarbone injury.
The Dragons displayed flashes of genuine potential against the Bulldogs. But they ultimately faltered under the weight of 15 handling errors and a completion rate below 70%.
This should be a close contest, but a revitalised Rabbitohs under Bennett will likely get the win.
Official Squads
Dragons: 1. Clinton Gutherson 2. Mathew Feagai 3. Moses Suli 4. Valentine Holmes 5. Christian Tuipulotu 6. Kyle Flanagan 7. Lachlan Ilias 8. Toby Couchman 9. Damien Cook 10. Emre Guler 11. North Queensland Cowboys vs Cronulla Sharks
After a heavy defeat at Brookvale, the Cowboys return to Townsville eager to bounce back in front of their home crowd and restore some pride.
Though they were the underdogs against Manly, few could have predicted the onslaught that followed. The Cowboys were 16 points behind by the time the clock reached 10 minutes. The final score read a whopping 42-12 for the hosts at 4 Pines Park.
Despite another defeat to the reigning Premiers, Cronulla can draw considerable encouragement from their performance against the Panthers in Las Vegas.
We fancy the Sharks cruising to an away win against the Cowboys.
Official Squads
Cowboys: 1. Scott Drinkwater 2. Braidon Burns 3. Jaxon Purdue 4. Viliami Vailea 5. Murray Taulagi 6. Tom Dearden 7. Thomas Duffy 8. Jordan McLean 9. Reece Robson 10. Sam McIntyre 11. John Bateman 12. Canberra Raiders vs Brisbane Broncos
The Raiders and Broncos will hope to maintain a 100% record in the new NRL season at each other’s expense on Saturday evening at GIO Stadium.
Payne Haas, Pat Carrigan, and Xavier Willison, fresh from a combined 552-meter rushing performance against the Roosters, will be key for the Broncos as they target the Raiders' forward pack, which is without the suspended Joe Tapine.
Corey Horsburgh and Hudson Young delivered outstanding performances for the Raiders in Las Vegas. The duo will look to cover for the suspended Tapine, who is out until the Sea Eagles’ match in the fourth round.
Raiders have won three out of their last four matches at GIO Stadium. But we feel the Broncos have the upper hand in this battle, having lost to the capital side only once in their last four meetings.
Official Squads
Raiders: 1. Kaeo Weekes 2. Savelio Tamale 3. Matthew Timoko 4. Sebastian Kris 5. Albert Hopoate 6. Ethan Strange 7. Jamal Fogarty 8. Josh Papali'i 9. Tom Starling 10. Corey Horsburgh 11. Parramatta Eels vs Wests Tigers
Both the Eels and Wests Tigers are coming off opening-round defeats, but the manner of their losses couldn’t have been more different.
After a strong showing against Newcastle, the revamped Tigers will be further strengthened by the return of their inspirational leader, Api Koroisau.
Unlike the Tigers, the Eels were completely dismantled by Melbourne, and were down 46-6 at half time. The final score was 56-18, and they missed 41 tackles.
The Eels might find it difficult to get the better of a confident Tigers side, but this one is a bit too close to call. Instead, new betting sites are offering great odds on Parramatta crossing over first and Zac Lomax dotting down.
Official Squads
Eels: 1. Isaiah Iongi 2. Sean Russell 3. Viliami Penisini 4. Zac Lomax 5. Jordan Samrani 6. Dylan Brown 7. Ronald Volkman 8. Joe Ofahengaue 9. Brendan Hands 10. Junior Paulo 11. Shaun Lane 12. Canterbury Bulldogs vs Gold Coast Titans
After a three-week hiatus since their last trial match, the Titans are finally set to begin their season, facing a formidable challenge against the Bulldogs at Belmore.
Canterbury return home after surviving a slugfest against the Dragons at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. They will welcome back Josh Curran from suspension, bolstering a forward pack that set the platform for their first round victory.
The Titans are yet to kick off their campaign, but based on their pre-season form, we doubt they can halt the Bulldogs on their home turf.
Official Squads
Bulldogs: 1. Connor Tracey 2. Blake Wilson 3. Bronson Xerri 4. Stephen Crichton 5. Marcelo Montoya 6. Matt Burton 7. Toby Sexton 8. Max King 9. Reed Mahoney 10. Daniel Suluka-Fifita 11.
