Last weekend’s Premier League action saw both Liverpool and Arsenal solidify their spots in the top two, with third-placed Nottingham Forest losing for the second time in their last three games, while Bournemouth jumped inside the top five after both Chelsea and Newcastle were battered by hefty margins. They both have intriguing matchups this weekend against Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest respectively, but the best is saved for last in Matchweek 26, with the in-form Man City taking on Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. Take a look at our EPL tips and predictions for every game below.

Leicester City vs Brentford
We ease into the weekend’s action with what looms as a relatively benign clash between Leicester City and Brentford, both of whom find themselves in the bottom half of the table. But while Leicester City are up against it to avoid relegation, Brentford is in the midst of a much-improved season relative to the last one and after two wins in their last three games, is in with a chance of recording their best ever season at the top level.
Another win in this game would certainly help that cause, and they should be expecting to record exactly that. Leicester City were gallant for 80 minutes against Arsenal but ultimately went down 2-0, marking their fourth failure to score in their last five Premier League games. Brentford, meanwhile, were solid in beating West Ham 1-0, and can record another clean sheet en route to a third win in four games.

Everton vs Manchester United
Out of the blue, Everton is just about the most in-form team in the Premier League. After knocking off Crystal Palace 2-1 on the weekend, they have now won four of their last five games, with the only other result in that time an impressive 2-2 draw against Liverpool. They’re still only in 14th place, but given they were at risk of relegation a month ago they will be pretty happy with how things stand.
Manchester United is just one spot back in 15th, but things haven’t been quite so rosy at Old Trafford. They’ve lost their past two games against two bottom-eight teams in Tottenham and Crystal Palace, failing to score in either of them. It's been a thoroughly disappointing season for Man U, and based on the respective forms of these two teams it might be about to get even worse.

Southampton vs Brighton and Hove Albion
As expected, Southampton’s winning ways did not last long, with their second victory of the season – which came against Ipswich Town – being followed by a 3-1 loss to Bournemouth last weekend. They remain firmly entrenched in bottom spot, and won’t likely be making any inroads this Saturday if Brighton’s most recent performance is anything to go by.
The visitors in this game responded to a humiliating 7-0 thrashing at the hands of Nottingham Forest in the most emphatic way possible, beating Chelsea 3-0 on the back of a Yankuba Minteh double. Back in 10th they are probably in no-mans land this season, but with only two games separating them from Bournemouth in 5th, a nice stretch of form could get them in the conversation for those spots. They do, of course, have to win games like this to do that, but they should have no problems getting the points.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace
Fulham has quietly hit a nice little patch of form over the past month, moving to within just 4 points of fifth place as a result. Things could easily have gone the other way with their last two games coming against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, but they have been super impressive in winning them both 2-1, and they now go into another game which most EPL predictions would have them winning.
Crystal Palace is far from the worst team in the league and had been in solid form with three wins from four games prior to last weekend, but that was a relatively soft run of games. They became the latest victim of Everton’s complete 180, going down 2-1 last Saturday, and though they don’t often go down without a fight, Fulham should be too good on their home turf.

Arsenal vs West Ham United
Arsenal had a solid start to life without Kai Havertz, with their leading goalscorer joining Gabriel Jesus on the sidelines for the rest of the season following a knee injury. They failed to score for 80 minutes against Leicester City in their first game without him, but sub Mikel Merino delivered when it mattered most with two goals in the space of six minutes to ensure the Gunners kept touch with Liverpool.
Though they weren’t exactly emphatic in that victory, they should be picking up a fourth in a row this weekend. West Ham have not won in over a month, picking up three losses and a draw from their past four games, and though Arsenal still need to find a consistent new avenue to goal, they should be able to get the chocolates against West Ham.

Ipswich Town vs Tottenham
Just when Ange Postecoglou needed it most, his chargers have pulled through. They secured a 1-0 win over Manchester United last weekend to back up their 2-0 defeat of Brentford a couple of weeks earlier, and with a clash against the second-to-bottom Ipswich Town this weekend they could easily make it three from three. They needed it, too, because prior to that they had lost four in a row and the writing was beginning to form on the wall for their previously much-loved head coach.
That writing will again solidify if they lose this weekend, but they really shouldn’t. Ipswich Town managed a 1-1 draw against Villa last Saturday, but had lost four in a row prior to that including one against Southampton, who had to that point won just once all season. Tottenham have not exactly set the world on fire this season, but this is a great opportunity to win three in a row for the first time in 2024-25.

Bournemouth vs Wolverhampton
Bournemouth is officially in the top five. Their 3-1 win over Southampton was made even sweeter by thumping defeats for both Chelsea and Newcastle, results which saw Bournemouth leapfrog them both into fifth spot. They have now scored multiple goals in four of their last five games, a period during which they have a 3-1-1 record, and they should have no problems finding the back of the net a couple more times against a team that has conceded more goals than all but two others.
Wolverhampton was far from disgraced against Liverpool last weekend and won the game prior to that, but they conceded 10 goals in their four previous games and lost all of them. The way Bournemouth is playing, the visitors will struggle to keep them at bay. Expect at least a couple of goals to the home side in this one, and a relatively comfortable win to consolidate their spot in the top five.

Aston Villa vs Chelsea
Neither of these two teams had a particularly good last weekend. Villa have had a solid season to date, but they picked up just a measly point over their past two games against potential relegation pair in the Wolves and Ipswich Town. Chelsea, clearly, will pose a much more difficult test, though they are not exactly in glittering form themselves after last weekend’s effort.
They dropped from 4th to 6th in the Premier League standings following a disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton, their second loss by multiple goals in their last three games. This won’t be an easy one either, with West Ham having dropped just one game at home all season. Both teams will be eager to get back on the winners’ list after their recent efforts, but they might both be kept off it for another week. A draw here would be no surprise.

Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest
There are two games scheduled for Sunday in the EPL, and they are probably the best two of the weekend. The first will see 7th place Newcastle take on 3rd place Nottingham Forest, though neither of them are playing at the level those table positions would suggest. Newcastle was abysmal last weekend, conceding three goals in the first half and ultimately going down 4-0 to Manchester City, making it two losses in a row after Fulham beat them a couple of weeks earlier.
Nottingham Forest are not going much better. They went down 2-1 to Fulham to make it two losses from three games and lose touch with the top two – though bizarrely the result sandwiched in the middle of those two defeats was a 7-0 win over Brighton. The erratic nature of their recent play makes EPL tips difficult when they are playing, and Newcastle aren’t much better in that regard. All three results are very possible in this one, but back at St. James’ Park in front of a crowd that will be desperate for an improved performance, Newcastle can sneak over the line.

Manchester City vs Liverpool
The last game of the weekend is one not to be missed. Manchester City suffered a humiliating 5-1 loss to Arsenal a couple of weeks ago, but that aside they haven’t lost since December and bounced back with a scintillating 4-0 win over Newcastle last weekend. That result was set up by a 14-minute hattrick from Omar Marmoush, but impressive as they were in that game they will not be able to score with nearly the same ease against Liverpool.
The Reds have had a busy February, with EFL Cup and FA Cup games as well as Wednesday night EPL affairs in consecutive weeks, and they haven’t been quite as dominant as usual of late – a 2-2 draw against Everton followed by a just-enough performance against the Wolves. They’ll need to be better than that against Manchester City if they’re to avoid their first defeat since September. A loss for them would certainly spice things up at the top from a neutral perspective, and if ever it was going to happen this could be the game. This will be a high-quality, pulsating affair, and Manchester City might just be able to get the points.
