AFL 2023 Semi Finals – Betting Tips & Predictions

AFL 2023 Semi Finals
The brutality of the elimination finals was laid bare in the AFL last weekend, with Sydney and St Kilda having to pack their bags and look ahead to next season.
Winning the title remains the key aim for the remaining 6 and the intrigue around the AFL finals period is creating plenty of action with old and new betting sites alike. For Collingwood and Brisbane both booked their places in the last 4 over the weekend, leaving Melbourne and Carlton to battle it out – as well as Port Adelaide and the GWS Giants.
There is no margin for error now and the final games of the season promise to bring drama every step of the way.
Melbourne vs Carlton
The MCG will be rocking for this one, as old foes Melbourne and Carlton go hard at it, with a place in the 2023 AFL play-off finals on the line.
Melbourne have steadily gone about their business this season, picking up plenty of impressive results, enabling them to finish 4th in the regular season table.
Defeat to Collingwood last weekend was tight and could prove costly, as energy conservation is often the key component for any side as they look to build their AFL finals run.
However, there were plenty of positives for Melbourne to take from their defeat and they will be bang up for this against Carlton.
For the Blues meanwhile, overcoming Sydney was their first hurdle, something they managed to just about do and they are now being well fancied by many AFL betting sites.
Being the underdogs in this one won’t concern them at all and whilst they know they will be up against it here, they beat Melbourne merely a few weeks ago during the regular AFL season and will believe that they can do it again.
Calling this one is tough, with not much between the sides but Carlton may just fancy their chances of an upset and take their opportunity.

Port Adelaide vs GWS Giants
It is a similar story at the Adelaide Oval, with one of the Port Adelaide Suns or the GWS Giants having to pack their bags after this one.
The early season performances of the Port Adelaide Suns created a real splash with many AFL betting sites, as they stormed through the opening weeks of the season to sit pretty at the top of the tree with Collingwood.
Results have waned a little since, but the Suns are playing some exciting stuff and should have a raucous crowd backing them here, as they look to bounce back from the qualification finals defeat to Brisbane.
For the GWS Giants meanwhile, this is a chance they haven’t had for the best part of a decade, and they look to be loving every second of it. Beating St Kilda on the road last weekend was a real marker in the sand and they are playing with a renewed sense of freedom here.
Upsets can always happen at this stage of the season and the GWS Giants should be firmly in the mix, but Port Adelaide have been good this year and should be able to sneak through to the semi-finals.
