AFL 2023 Preliminary Finals – Betting tips & Predictions

AFL 2023 Preliminary Finals – Betting Tips & Predictions
Despite enjoying excellent regular season campaigns, both Melbourne and Port Adelaide faltered when it mattered most. Melbourne had been in sublime late season nick but lost the key battles to Carlton last weekend and found themselves on the scrap heap.
Port Adelaide meanwhile simply looked to run of steam at the end of the season and there were plenty of question marks emerging with old and new betting sites alike.
The GWS Giants had too much for them in the semi-finals and their reward is a tricky looking trip to Collingwood, whilst Brisbane host Carlton in an absolute blockbuster of a preliminary final.
Collingwood vs GWS Giants
Picking up a first AFL Premiership title since 2010 remains the aim for Collingwood, who have blazed a trail at the top of the AFL table this season.
From the outset, they have been amongst the favorites to go far with many AFL betting sites and they find themselves 2 games from AFL folklore.
Next up is a tricky looking tie against a GWS Giants side they dug deep to even reach the playoffs in the first place and are now thriving in the top 8.
Road wins at both St Kilda and Port Adelaide have the Giants fans believing that they could surpass their best ever AFL finish of 2nd back in 2009.
The MCG will be purring for this one, with an expectant crowd hoping to see Collingwood get over the line and whilst the GWS Giants will make it tough, the Magpies should prevail in this one.

Brisbane vs Carlton
Saturday pits Brisbane and Carlton against each other in what should be a battle for the ages. The Lions have really started to find their top gear, as they chase their first AFL title since 2003 and their two decades of pain hang in the balance of the next two fixtures.
Carlton meanwhile have endured an even longer wait to break their AFL title drought, with the last triumph coming back in 1995 and they have plenty on the line in this one.
The manner of their superb win at Melbourne last time out should surely give them confidence and they seem to be reveling their role of party poopers in the finals mix.
Calling this one with AFL punters, experts and fans looks to be no easy task but it is Brisbane who are the most fancied with many AFL betting sites.
Writing Carlton off completely would be a huge mistake, especially following their big win over Melbourne last weekend but Brisbane could just have too much quality in key areas.
| Bookmaker | Sam’s Tip | Odds |
| Total Points – Over 154.5 | $1.79 | |
| Winning Margin: Brisbane 1-12 | $5.50 | |
| Brisbane to win the match | $1.36 |
