European nights in the Spring have become an institution for football clubs and their fans, with the Champions League gripping the footballing world for decades.

The drama was there for all to see once again in the 2024 quarter finals, with some of the biggest and best in the game going head-to-head, with only 4 sides now left in the competition.

Defending a Champions League title is often regarded as one of the toughest things to do in football and so it has proved to be for Manchester City.

The City juggernaut looked well on its way to another title, especially with Pep Guardiola’s side confirmed as the best team in the world at the Club World Cup in 2023.

However, Real Madrid found a way, as they so often do, to knockout City and they progress to the last 4, along with Bayern Munich, PSG and Borussia Dortmund, in what should be a compelling end to the campaign for all punters and betting sites

Real Drama

The association between Real Madrid and the Champions League is long fabled and once again, the Champions League gods conspired to help Madrid on their way in 2024.

Two deflected goals in the first leg in Madrid gave Real a sniff heading to the Etihad but with the tie locked at 3-3, very few people expected anything other than a City progression.

However, Real dug deep, displaying defensive prowess seldom seen by a Carlo Ancelotti side and they managed to squeeze past City on penalties, booking their passage to the last 4.

Bayern Bouncing Back

Over in Germany, much of the talk this season has been about the regression of Bayern Munich under Thomas Tuchel.

With their Bundesliga title having gone to Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern looked to be somewhat of a spent force this season.

However, the Bavarians showed incredible grit, to overcome Arsenal over two legs and book their place in the last 4, where they will play Real Madrid, in what should be an absolute whopper.

PSG to break their UCL duck?

Heavy investment at PSG for the past decade has still not yielded a Champions League trophy but there is momentum building with many football betting sites that this could be their year.

PSG overcame Barcelona in a chaotically brilliant last 8 tie and they know that they now stand 3 games away from Champions League folklore.

They will play Borussia Dortmund for a place in the final, with the Germans producing an incredible performance of their own to knockout Atletico Madrid.

The race for the 2024 Champions League title is very much on, with teams from Germany, France and Spain left in the competition.

Real Madrid will take on Bayern Munich over two legs, whilst PSG will play Borussia Dortmund, with the victors progressing to the Champions League final at Wembley on June 1st.
