A huge amount has changed in the sport of golf over the past couple of seasons, with the emergence of LIV Golf certainly shaking up the status quo within the sport.

Less than 12 months ago, simply talking about moving to LIV Golf was a taboo subject, now it seems plenty of players are making the transition, with Tyrrell Hatton’s move the latest to catch the eye with punters and international betting sites alike.

Fiery Englishman Tyrrell Hatton has long been revered as one of European golf’s great hopes and despite an absence of major titles from this trophy cabinet, Hatton has proven himself to be one of the very best players on the planet.

Now aged 32, and seemingly at the peak of his powers, the lure of the LIV Golf Series has become too much for Hatton, who is the latest European star to opt for LIV, over the monotony of the DP World Tour.

With huge financial rewards on offer for Hatton, and his best friend Jon Rahm now his LIV team mate, it was a move that looked to make sense for all parties.

Fiery Figure

Having long been touted as one of the brightest prospects within the game of golf, both in Europe and further afield, Tyrrell Hatton’s talent and ability are unquestioned.

Yet for all his promise, Hatton has one solitary PGA Tour win to his name at the Arnold Palmer Invitational back in 2020 and he has never really been able to turn on his game in major tournament golf.

With his last win on the DP World Tour coming back in 2021, Hatton’s fiery side could occasionally get the better of him and a move to LIV Golf could give him a welcome change of scenery.

Life changing money

When quizzed on Tyrrell Hatton’s decision to move to LIV Golf, his European Ryder Cup team mate Rory McIlroy explained that Hatton had been offered ‘life changing money’ to join the LIV Golf Series.

Backed by the Saudi Government PIF, golfers who make the switch to LIV Golf tend to be remunerated handsomely and Hatton looks to fit within that category.

The prospect of teaming up with his buddy Jon Rahm will have also been a selling point for Hatton too, with the two men set to be star performers for Legion XIII with many online betting sites

Meronk on the move

Whilst Tyrrell Hatton’s switch has made plenty of headlines, another big name from European golf has moved over to LIV too.

Polish superstar Adrian Meronk has won 4 times on the DP World Tour over the past 18 months and his global profile has risen hugely as a result.

Teaming up with German Martin Kaymer, Meronk will be an integral part of the LIV Golf Series this year and his capture is seen as a coup for all involved in the project.

The lure of LIV Golf was once seen as poisoned fruit but now, players from all over the world are clambering for a piece of the action.

English Ryder Cup star Tyrrell Hatton is the latest player to move to LIV Golf and his presence in every event is sure to pique interest with many punters and online betting sites
