The Los Angeles Lakers, fresh off of finessing the most shocking trade in NBA history, will be concluding their annual Grammy’s road trip by visiting their crosstown rival Los Angeles Clippers.

Just one game separates the Lakers and Clippers who find themselves in fifth and sixth place respectively in the West standings. The Lakers come into the game on a bit of a hot streak, winning eight of their last 10, but will be without the recently traded Anthony Davis and newly acquired Luka Doncic.

That will be a disadvantage against a healthy and available Clippers squad who are 8-1 in their last nine games hosting the Lake Show. The Clippers, especially in the Kawhi Leonard and Ty Lue era, have really had it out for their rivals.

In their last seven head-to-head matchups, the Over has been surpassed five times. Both teams come into this matchup hitting the Over in four of their last five games.

The key thing to consider here is that the Lakers will be very lacking defensively. They’ll be without defensive player of the year candidate Anthony Davis and also missing emerging 3-and-D starter Max Christie.

Dating back to mid-December, the Indiana Pacers have followed an interesting pattern. They’ve gone on alternating streaks of reaching the Over, then a similar run of hitting the Under.

Since December 15th, they have gone four straight Unders, five Overs in a row, then five more Unders. They were on a streak of four Overs while averaging over 127 points per game before starting their current Western Conference road trip.

The Trail Blazers, for their part, are 2-6, making the Over in back-to-backs. Expect both teams to struggle on little rest and put the smart money on the Over for this contest.
