Multi Bet of the Weekend

It should be a thrilling day of thoroughbred racing on Saturday and MyBettingAustralia is here to break down the very best meetings. I think Emphasize at Caulfield can run well in Race 2. Also, I want to see Rey Magnerio run well at Caulfield in Race 6. Then, the Saturday multi will conclude with Private Life in Race 9 at Caulfield. Looking at the track conditions for Caulfield, it should be nice with a good 4 rating. Here is the multi bet for Saturday!

Caulfield R2: Emphasize (#10) - Place

Emphasize First is my first selection in the Saturday multi, expected to kick things off well at Caulfield. Outstanding performance in its last start. Emphasize raced at Sale on 09/01/2025 over 1717m, placed 1st. The runner, backed at $3.30, carried 58kg under Thomas Stockdale. The contest was run on a good track in a Mdn class, with Emphasize (58kg) taking the win and Geemes (56kg) finishing second.

A tough effort two races ago highlights the ability of Emphasize. Has won from similar barriers before, so should be fine. On board Emphasize will be Craig Williams, one of my favourite jockeys to bet on.

Has been trained by T Busuttin & N Young and comes off some trial runs. Has handled heavier weight in the past and still performed well. Wins as often as it loses, so always a threat. A sneaky chance.

Caulfield R6: Rey Magnerio (#4) - Place

Caulfield R9: Private Life (#10) - Place

Last up in the multi, Private Life should be on your radar this Saturday. Private Life took on 1200m at Flemington on 09/11/2024, crossed the line 5th, beaten 1.2 lengths. Carrying 53.5kg under Damian Lane, the runner went off at $31.00 coming out of barrier 8. The contest was run on a good surface and was won by Sunshine In Paris (56.5kg), with Right To Party (56.5kg) taking second.

He is a reliable performer with a respectable strike rate, which includes a Group 1 win at this track before. Has performed well under similar weight conditions before as well. Damian Lane is in the saddle and in nice racing form. This should be a dangerous combo. A perfect barrier for this horse’s running style. Great each-way bet.

Stats and Insights

  • R2 Caulfield - Emphasize has kicked off his career with a 1st and 3rd. He has raced at Sale both times so this will be his first run at Caulfield.
  • R6 Caulfield - Rey Magnerio holds a career win percentage of 41.18%. He holds a career place percentage of 82.35% as well.
  • R9 Caulfield - In his career, Private Life has won at this track before in a Group 1 and has won first-up previously too.
  • A jockey to watch could be Blake Shinn (Caulfield) with some potential winners in R4 - Field Of Play, R6 - Insurrection, R8 - Chorlton Lane.

The CF Orr Stakes is the feature Group 1 race of the day at Caulfield Racecourse in Race 9. It should be a cracking contest between Mr Brightside and Another Wil. But I also like the look of Private Life to potentially cause an upset.
