BBL 13 has seen plenty of good performances from English players.

English stars have enjoyed a big impact on BBL 13

News Insights

  • BBL 13 has housed plenty of international stars once more.
  • The long British winter has led more Englishmen to BBL 13.
  • T20 World Cup champions England have a wealth of talent at their disposal.
  • Plenty of players on the periphery have staked a claim for the England team in BBL 13.

Franchise T20 cricket always attracts superstars from all over the world and BBL 13 has been absolutely no different.

A competition that has captivated both punters and online betting sites over the past few weeks, the global appeal of the Big Bash continues to grow.

Playing a huge part in that is the impact that overseas players are having on Big Bash cricket and BBL 13 has been graced by some of the up-and-coming English stars, who are all looking to force their way into the international side.

Tall Paul

Despite having their progress checked in the qualifying final, the regular BBL 13 season was all about the Brisbane Heat.

With just one loss during the campaign, Brisbane Heat were in electrifying form and Englishman Paul Walter was a huge part of that.

Coined ‘Tall Paul’ by the Brisbane faithful, Walter’s contribution with bat, ball and in the field has been huge for the Heat.

Such performances have led to clamours for him to be considered for the England T20 World Cup squad in 2024.

Excellent Evans

Having enjoyed a distinguished county career with Warwickshire and Surrey, Laurie Evans has rebranded himself as one of the best T20 batters in the world.

Playing franchise cricket across Asia, the Middle East and England, has enabled Evans to fine tune his hitting and he has been integral to the Perth Scorchers once more in BBL 13.

Aged 36, he may struggle to break into the England fold, but he enjoys a fierce reputation with the bat and his consistency of runs for the Perth Scorchers has made him somewhat of a folk hero in Western Australia.

In-Vince-able

Another man that has long been on the England radar is James Vince and he too has enjoyed another excellent BBL campaign.

With his gun-ho approach at the top of the order for the Sydney Sixers, Vince is undoubtedly a huge talent, but he has never really been able to translate that to the international stage.

If he can help the Sydney Sixers go all the way in BBL 13, his stock will continue to rise even further, as he looks to force his way back into English international reckoning.
