The NBA playoffs are upon us, and this weekend’s multi bet focuses on the pair of three vs. six matchups in the league. With New York hosting the Pistons, we’re watching for the playoff hardened Knicks to handle business in the end despite an expected big scoring output from Cade Cunningham. In the West, we like Luka Doncic’s history of filling it up against Minnesota to continue in a projected 25+ point scoring effort.

NBA Tips and Multi bet of the Weekend| April 20
New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons
April 19, 8:00, Madison Square Garden
In the first of the two three vs. six matchups today the third-seeded New York Knicks play host to the sixth-seeded Detroit Pistons. The Pistons have won the last three meetings between the two, however prior to that, New York had won 16 straight dating back to 2020.
Neither side is particularly hot right now, as the Knicks have two wins in their last five and the Pistons just one.
The overall numbers don’t point in one particular direction, but New York has one massive advantage, playoff experience. Their roster is riddled with it, while many of the Pistons will be making their playoff debuts. The postseason is just a different animal, and given the huge advantage New York has in that department, plus their home court advantage, we like the Knicks ML at $1.33.
New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons
April 19, 8:00, Madison Square Garden
We’re going back to the same matchup here, but this time eyeing a player prop. Cade Cunningham has had a breakout season this year, and is the main catalyst behind Detroit’s massive turnaround from last season.
In four matchups against New York this year, the former number one pick has averaged 30.75 ppg. In his last five games of the regular season, he scored 35+ four times and 25 in the other game.
He’s taken his game to another level at just the right time, and we don’t expect that to change. However, given that it is his first playoff game, and pushing the limits on NBA parlays can lead to agony, we like him for a cool 25+ at $1.38, a number he has cleared in 12 of his last 14.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
April 19, 10:30, Crypto.com Arena
We now move to the Western Conference three-six matchup where the Los Angeles Lakers are taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
There are plenty of storylines and potential bets that could be talked about in this series but one in particular stands out to us.
Luka Doncic feasted on the Timberwolves defense last season in the Western Conference Finals. He averaged 32.4 ppg, scoring 28+ in each of the five games en route to a series victory. We’re betting on him continuing this trend, but given that he has less of the offensive burden in LA than he did with Dallas, we like a conservative line of 25+.
NBA betting sites are still offering solid value for Luka scoring 25 or more, and at $1.26 on PlayUp, we’re taking the safe pick.
