I'm a big fan of One Hard Lady at Flemington in Race 4. Tanglewood looks a nice bet in Race 10 at Randwick as well. Then, the Saturday multi will conclude with Pisanello in Race 2 at Eagle Farm. At Flemington, the track has been rated a soft 6. While at Randwick, try and punt on runners that love the wet as the track is going to be heavy. On Saturday, the track at Eagle Farm will be a bit soft under foot, take that into account. Lets go!

At Flemington, One Hard Lady should be a vital runner in multi-bets. One Hard Lady has placed in three straight races, showcasing consistency and form. Last outing, One Hard Lady took on a 1100m race at Flemington and finished 2nd. Carried 54kg, started at $4.40, and handled a soft surface. The barrier draw looks great for this runner, she will start in the 1 Barrier. Jockey Blaike McDougall will ride this runner. This jockey is known for his ability to time the run perfectly. One Hard Lady is in good hands with Ms D Scott, a trainer with a track record for producing top-tier horses. Winless over 1100m so far, but could improve in the track conditions. Yet to crack it at this track (Flemington) - will this race be the one? More wins than most - one to take seriously. Won on a soft track before, no reason it can’t do it again. One to watch, could put in a career-best effort.

Multi-bet punters will be counting on Tanglewood to keep things going. Came in beyond the top four last start, but still showing signs of promise. Last start performance, Tanglewood came 8th over 1100m at Scone. Carried 60kg, guided by Anna Roper, and started at $9.00. Inconsistent on heavy ground, but capable of a competitive performance at Randwick. Has the speed to make use of an inside barrier. Anna Roper will guide Tanglewood and given their record, they’ll give the horse every chance to shine. With a nice bloodline, I think this horse can make this a day to remember. Consistent performer at 1000m, has the stats to back it up. Has experience at this distance, with 3 wins in 4 starts. Each-way chance I reckon.

On Saturday, Pisanello could play an important role in multi bets. A finish outside the top four, but not without merit - could be one to watch. On 17/05/2025, Pisanello lined up at Scone, finishing 5th over 1100m. Backed at $5.50, jumped from barrier 14, and carried 55kg under Kerrin McEvoy. Would prefer more favourable conditions, but its past wins prove it can overcome. This horse has the versatility to make the most of a difficult gate. There’s no doubt that James McDonald is the right person for the job this Saturday. With a solid record, they’ll play a major role. From the James Cummings Stable, you can expect a quality horse. Has raced 4 times over this distance, winning 50% and placing in 50%. A sneaky chance.

The QLD Winter racing carnival continues at Eagle Farm this weekend. The feature race will be the Queensland Oaks and it’s a fairly open race at the moment. So there could be a good chance for an upset. Enjoy the day punters and hope you back a winner!
