Race name

Selections:
#6 - Alabama Lass - $2.70
#7 - Daggers - $7.00
#13 - Amelita - $15.00

GET ON - #6 Alabama Lass
I believe that Alabama Lass will get strong support and will be my prime Saturday bet of the day. Three consecutive placings highlight the form of Alabama Lass and ability to stay near the front. Last time out, Alabama Lass competed over 1200m, placing 1st at Ellerslie. Jumped from barrier 3, carried 53kg, and starting price of $1.70 odds. This draw gives her the chance to settle comfortably and strike late. A great combination of experience and skill, Craig Williams is more than capable of guiding Alabama Lass to a top finish. Alabama Lass is a product of K & B Kelso's exceptional training, and the results should speak for themselves. Dominates at this distance (1100m) - a specialist over this trip. Has raced 2 times over this distance, winning 100% and placing in 100%. Dominates on good tracks and looks well-placed to continue that trend. At this surface, has a career record of 3-1-0, including 3 victories. Could hit the line hard, watch for it late.

THREAT - #7 Daggers
Daggers is a well-priced contender with the ability to upset the field. Wasn’t far off last start, finishing in second with a strong performance. On 01/03/2025, Daggers lined up at Flemington, finishing 2nd over 1200m. Backed at $8.50, jumped from barrier 12, and carried 58kg under Ethan Brown. The barrier draw looks ideal for this runner, it usually likes a wide run. In top form this Saturday, Ethan Brown has a knack for getting the best out of their horses. Could be another winning run. Has been trained by T Busuttin & N Young and comes off some trial runs. Track record isn’t inspiring, but anything can happen at Flemington on Saturday. Yet to find success on this track rating, but gets a good chance to do so on Saturday. Not to be overlooked, this one’s got form.

ROUGHIE - #13 Amelita
If you’re looking for a roughie, Amelita has some upside. Runner-up in the previous race, displaying strong potential. Last outing, Amelita took on a 1200m race at Moonee Valley and finished 2nd. Carried 58.5kg, started at $10.00, and handled a soft surface. A favourable barrier that could give her the chance to stay out of traffic and find clear running. Jockey Jye Mcneil gets the ride on Saturday. They're a talented jockey with a decent race sense. The attention to detail in Chris Waller's training methods makes Amelita a contender. Distance stats: 2-1-0, with a win rate of 50% and a place rate of 75%. Loves racing at the Flemington track and should go close again. An occasional winner, will Saturday be one of those times? This one’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Flemington - Race 8 (2000m)

Selections:
#6 - Pride Of Jenni - $3.40
#4 - Middle Earth - $4.80
#1 - Light Infantry Man - $9.50

GET ON - #6 Pride Of Jenni
Pride Of Jenni is rated as the best bet of the day, let me tell you why. Eased to victory in its previous race. Last start, Pride Of Jenni finished in the placings over 1800m at Caulfield on 15/03/2025. Carried 57kg under Craig Newitt, started at $3.80. Track rated good. This gate should allow her to get into a rhythm without using too much energy. This runner has been expertly prepared by Ciaron Maher, known for bringing out the best in their horses. Occasional winner at 2000m - needs things to go its way. Handles this track well, boasting 2 wins from 11 runs. Winning form is rare but possible with the right setup. This one’s knocking on the door for a big run.

THREAT - #4 Middle Earth
I believe that Middle Earth represents great value in the betting markets and could surprise. This runner delivered in style last start and could go back-to-back. Middle Earth ran at Flemington on 08/03/2025, finishing 1st in a 2000m event. Jockey Mark Zahra was aboard, carrying 57.5kg. Track was rated good. The draw might not be ideal, but it all depends on how the race unfolds. Mark Zahra brings solid experience to the saddle this Saturday, and their timing in races has earned them plenty of respect. This runner comes from the Ciaron Maher Stable. 2000m distance suits - right in the mix. This track is a favourite of Middle Earth, and with a perfect record, it’s hard to see anything stopping him. Winning is familiar to this horse, but not guaranteed. Will be running on.

ROUGHIE - #1 Light Infantry Man
Light Infantry Man is a roughie with the potential to surprise at big odds. A tenacious third last race, showing plenty of grit. Last start performance, Light Infantry Man came 3rd over 1600m at Flemington. Carried 59kg, guided by Ethan Brown, and started at $26.00. A low draw should allow him to save ground and be in a good position turning for home. Ethan Brown will guide Light Infantry Man and given their record, they’ll give the horse every chance to shine. Having been trained by Ciaron Maher, Light Infantry Man comes into this race well-prepared and confident. At this track, the record is positive. Familiarity with the Flemington track should give him an advantage. Shaping up as a live chance, expect a bold showing.

Flemington - Race 9 (2600m)

Selections:
#3 - Deakin - $2.25
#4 - Silent Surrente - $8.00
#7 - Garachico - $16.00

GET ON - #3 Deakin
Deakin is carrying high expectations but I think it can deliver. Deakin has been a consistent performer, placing in three consecutive races without fail. Deakin competed at Moonee Valley over 2500m, finishing 1st. Jumped from barrier 8, carried 54kg, and was ridden by Daniel Stackhouse. Starting from the 3 Barrier should give this runner every chance to perform well. On Saturday, Daniel Stackhouse will get to ride this one. A strong run between these two will be key. With a decent bloodline, I think this horse can make this a day to remember. Despite no wins yet at Flemington, Deakin has had some solid performances here. In solid form, wouldn’t be a shock to see it win.

THREAT - #4 Silent Surrente
At generous odds, Silent Surrente could be the value pick of the day. With a record of three straight placings, Silent Surrente is showing it can keep up with the best. Silent Surrente stepped out at Morphettville on 10/03/2025, finishing 1st over 3200m. Raced on a good surface, carrying 53.5kg under Rochelle Milnes. The outside draw gives the jockey options depending on how the race unfolds. On Saturday, Craig Williams will be guiding Silent Surrente. Known for their precision, this combination should perform well. Silent Surrente has been under the wing of W Clarken & N O'Shea. Unproven at this distance (2600m) but could surprise with the right run. Each-way chance I reckon.

ROUGHIE - #7 Garachico
Garachico could shake things up if it runs to its best. Finished a close second last race, right on the winner’s heels. Garachico raced at Moonee Valley last start, covering 2500m and finishing 2nd. Carried 54.5kg with Michael Dee aboard. Track was good. A good draw too, gets to run from the 1 Barrier. Jockey Billy Egan gets the ride on Saturday. They're a talented jockey with a pretty good race sense. Garachico, trained by the capable Dominic Sutton, is sure to be a strong competitor on Saturday. If it gets the right run, it’s in with a shot.

Multi Tips For Flemington

Alabama Lass is hard to fault, she has never finished outside the top 2 in her 8 career starts. She also loves the trip and track conditions. The Australian Cup in Race 8 should be a tough race, but it’s hard to back against Pride of Jenni on the inside. The vet loves races at Flemington. Deakin should add some insurance in Race 9.
