Selections:
#2 South Of India - $6.50
#4 Grand Larceny - $4.50
#7 Hi Dubai - $9.00
GET ON - #2 South Of India
South Of India is expected to deliver on Saturday, let's talk about his form. Impressive finishing speed sealed a last-start win. Last time out, South Of India competed over 1100m, placing 1st at Rosehill. Jumped from barrier 4, carried 57kg, and starting price of $6.50 odds. A deep barrier means he will need luck to slot into a good position. I’m confident that Jace Mcmurray will ride a calculated race this Saturday. Their history of strong performances makes them a reliable choice. This runner has been expertly prepared by Ross McConville, known for bringing out the best in their horses. Decent track record at Randwick, with occasional flashes of form. He could well perform to expectations. Ready to make a move late in the race.
THREAT - #4 Grand Larceny
I believe that Grand Larceny represents great value in the betting markets and could surprise. With three straight placings, Grand Larceny continues to show its reliability and skill. Last start, Grand Larceny finished in the placings over 1000m at Caulfield Heath on 07/05/2025. Carried 60kg under Blake Shinn, started at $2.35. Track rated good. A tough gate, but strong early speed could help overcome it. Tyler Schiller brings solid experience to the saddle this Saturday, and their timing in races has earned them plenty of respect. The attention to detail in M, W & J Hawkes's training methods makes Grand Larceny a contender. Has won half its races - dangerous if things go right. Although yet to race on a heavy track, it could relish the softer conditions. Each-way chance I reckon.
ROUGHIE - #7 Hi Dubai
Hi Dubai is usually an unpredictable runner that can spring a surprise result. A game fourth-place effort last race, battling all the way at Randwick. Last outing, Hi Dubai took on a 1000m race at Kembla Grange and finished 4th. Carried 57.5kg, started at $9.50, and handled a good surface. Can handle heavy ground and has shown enough to be a serious runner in these conditions. It’s not the easiest draw, but the horse is capable of overcoming it. Braith Nock has the skills and race intelligence to make a big impact on Saturday. Looking forward to their performance. Ciaron Maher is known for nurturing talented horses, and Hi Dubai has certainly benefited from their expertise. Yet to win at this trip (1000m) - will need to prove itself. I think it will. Could hit the line hard, watch for it late.
Selections:
#8 Zaphod - $4.50
#6 Collect Your Cash - $8.00
#9 Jamberoo - $9.00
GET ON - #8 Zaphod
I think Zaphod is an excellent best bet for Saturday and let me explain why. A close finish saw this runner take second place last start. Last start performance, Zaphod came 2nd over 1800m at Randwick. Carried 54kg, guided by Dylan Gibbons, and started at $7.00. A well-drawn horse that should get the perfect passage in running. Dylan Gibbons is in the saddle and in decent racing form. This should be a dangerous combo. Trainer Kris Lees is confident that he can run well. Hasn’t cracked this distance yet, but stranger things have happened. Winless at Randwick - needs to lift to turn that around, this could be his race to do it. One to respect, has the ability to surprise.
THREAT - #6 Collect Your Cash
Collect Your Cash presents excellent value for those looking beyond the favourites. Last race winner, so I think it is ready to back it up with another big run. Collect Your Cash raced at Randwick-Kensington last start, covering 1800m and finishing 1st. Carried 59kg with Anna Roper aboard. Track was soft. A favourable barrier that could give him the chance to stay out of traffic and find clear running. Jockey Anna Roper gets the ride on Saturday. They're a talented jockey with a solid race sense. Trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott. Hasn’t raced on a heavy track yet, but its build and style suggest it should adapt well. Has the turn of foot to make an impact.
ROUGHIE - #9 Jamberoo
Jamberoo is not among the favourites but has the ability to cause an upset. Scored a strong victory last race. Jamberoo competed at Hawkesbury over 1800m, finishing 1st. Jumped from barrier 7, carried 57kg, and was ridden by Zac Wadick. Likely to settle back from this draw and run home strongly. A great combination of experience and skill, Zac Wadick is more than capable of guiding Jamberoo to a top finish. Trainer John O'Shea & Tom Charlton has carefully prepared Jamberoo for this event, and I believe he will give a strong account of itself. Unproven at this distance (2000m) but could surprise with the right run.
Selections:
#10 She's Unusual - $5.00
#13 Miss Kim Kar - $5.50
#7 Flying Thinker - $10.00
GET ON - #10 She's Unusual
I think She's Unusual has the strongest chance on the Saturday card. Went close last start, falling just short of victory in second place. She's Unusual stepped out at Randwick-Kensington on 25/04/2025, finishing 2nd over 1400m. Raced on a soft surface, carrying 55kg under Kerrin McEvoy. A challenging draw, but if the pace is strong, it could play into her hands. With Zac Lloyd on board, expect a tactically astute ride this Saturday. This jockey always brings out the best in their horse. Trainer John O'Shea & Tom Charlton has a reputation for getting the best out of horses like She's Unusual. This horse has decent stats on heavy ground, often putting in solid efforts when the going is tough. Has raced 4 times on heavy tracks, winning 50% and placing in 100%.
THREAT - #13 Miss Kim Kar
Miss Kim Kar could be overlooked by some, so that offers strong value for Saturday’s races. Third place last start, indicating good racing form. Has shown the ability to perform well from similar wide barriers before. Expect Dylan Gibbons to be in control this Saturday. Their experience and race craft make them a strong contender for the win. Miss Kim Kar, trained by the capable Bjorn Baker, is sure to be a strong competitor on Saturday. Perfect record over this distance (1400m), loves every step of it. If luck goes its way, could be right in the finish.
ROUGHIE - #7 Flying Thinker
If you’re looking for a roughie, Flying Thinker has some upside. A respectable fourth-place effort last time, proving to be in good order. Flying Thinker stepped out at Warwick Farm on 07/05/2025, finishing 4th over 1300m. Raced on a soft surface, carrying 61.5kg under Tom Sherry. The 11 Barrier might not be ideal, but it suits certain running styles. Connections will get to watch their horse run around with Andrew Adkins in the saddle on Saturday. This jockey has plenty of wins under their belt. Under the watchful eye of Peter & Paul Snowden, Flying Thinker has shown a lot of promise leading up to this race. Don’t count it out, could be a big contender.

Adam is my jockey to watch on Saturday at Randwick Racecourse. He has a loaded slate with runners in almost every race. His top chances should be Cool Jakey in Race 8, Sisu Spirit (R4) and Storm The Ramparts racing in Race 10.
South Of India has the best win percentage in Race 6, so it should be a safe bet to place. Zaphod has a 80% place career record and has placed in both runs at this track, should run well again. She's Unusual in the last at Randwick offers the best distance record, having placed or won in 5 of 6 career starts.
