Last start second place, proving competitive form. Fangirl stepped out at Randwick on 01/03/2025, finishing 2nd over 1600m. Might have to sit wide, but should still be competitive. With James McDonald on board, expect a tactically astute ride this Saturday. This jockey always brings out the best in their horse. With the experience and training of Chris Waller, Fangirl has everything it needs to succeed. Winless over 1500m so far, but could improve in the track conditions. Despite no wins yet at Rosehill, Fangirl has had some solid performances here. Strong chance to be in the frame.

THREAT - #3 Royal Patronage
Coming off an eye-catching win in its most recent run. Last start performance, Royal Patronage came 1st over 1300m at Randwick. Carried 59kg, guided by Tim Clark, and started at $20.00. There’s no doubt that Tim Clark is the right person for the job this Saturday. Royal Patronage is a product of Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott's exceptional training, and the results should speak for themselves. Still looking for its first win at the Rosehill track. Could be in the mix if it finds its stride.

ROUGHIE - #5 Gringotts
A solid third-place effort last race, handling conditions well. Jockey Tommy Berry will be in the saddle this Saturday. Has a great winning strike rate. From the Ciaron Maher Stable, you can expect a quality horse. Decent track record at Rosehill, with occasional flashes of form. he could well perform to expectations. A dark horse in this race, could cause an upset.

GET ON - #7 Skyhook
For my Saturday best bets, I like the chances of Skyhook for good reason. Skyhook has demonstrated remarkable consistency, placing in three straight races. Last time out, Skyhook competed over 1200m, placing 1st at Rosehill. Jumped from barrier 4, carried 55.5kg, and starting price of $2.90 odds. Has the ability to overcome a tricky gate with a well-timed run. In top form this Saturday, Kerrin McEvoy has a knack for getting the best out of their horses. Could be another winning run. Handles this distance of 1200m well, no surprise to see it fighting out the finish. This track is a favourite of Skyhook, and with a perfect record, it’s hard to see anything stopping him. If it gets a clean run, watch out!

THREAT - #8 Wodeton
Wodeton should be a smart each-way option with the potential to return a good payday. Only just denied victory last race, finishing a gallant second. Wodeton competed at Randwick over 1200m, finishing 2nd. Jumped from barrier 4, carried 55.5kg, and was ridden by James McDonald. Connections will get to watch their horse run around with James McDonald in the saddle on Saturday. This jockey has plenty of wins under their belt. Wodeton presents from the prestigious Chris Waller Stable. Untried at this trip but I think it will enjoy it. Goes well at this Rosehill track and has won half of its starts here. Yet to find success on this track rating, but gets a good chance to do so on Saturday. Go well again.

ROUGHIE - #1 Rivellino
Rivellino is one to watch at long odds – don’t underestimate its chances. Last race saw a brilliant performance, ending in victory. Last outing, Rivellino took on a 1200m race at Randwick and finished 1st. Carried 55.5kg, started at $5.50, and handled a good surface. A good starting gate that could give him the edge over the competition. Hugh Bowman is in the saddle and in decent racing form. This should be a dangerous combo. Coming from the trusted hands of Kris Lees, expect this horse to perform at a high level. Dominates at this distance (1200m) - a specialist over this trip. Has experience on good tracks, with 3 wins and a 100% place rate. A real shot!

GET ON - #13 Private Harry
Coming into this race, I like the look of Private Harry, likely the one to beat in Saturday’s race. Coming off a last-start win. Last start, Private Harry finished in the placings over 1100m at Sunshine Coast on 04/01/2025. Carried 57kg under Ashley Morgan, started at $5.00. Track rated soft. A good draw that should allow him to find cover and conserve energy early. Jockey Ashley Morgan gets the ride on Saturday. They're a talented jockey with a good race sense. This runner comes from the Nathan Doyle Stable. Never beaten over this trip 1100m - hard to look past it. He thrives on this track - a real specialist here, always delivering. With a proven record under these good track conditions, it’s well-placed to fire again. Undefeated so far and looking to keep the streak alive. Don’t count it out, could be a big contender.

THREAT - #14 Commemorative
I think Commemorative is flying under the radar and could deliver at juicy odds. Scored a strong victory last race. Last start performance, Commemorative came 1st over 1200m at Randwick. Carried 54kg, guided by Jason Collett, and started at $4.40. A strong gate position could help her control the tempo from the start. Zac Lloyd has the skills and race intelligence to make a big impact on Saturday. Looking forward to their performance. Trainer James Cummings has carefully prepared Commemorative for this event, and I believe she will give a strong account of itself. Solid strike rate at this trip (1100m), should be competitive, winning 2 times from 4 runs. Could be a real value play, don’t dismiss it.

ROUGHIE - #6 Growing Empire
I think you should have your eyes on this outsider, here is why. He fought on well to secure fourth last start, not far off. Growing Empire stepped out at Flemington on 08/03/2025, finishing 4th over 1200m. Raced on a good surface, carrying 55.5kg under Mark Zahra. The draw forces a tactical ride, but the horse has the ability to adapt. On Saturday, James McDonald will be guiding Growing Empire. Known for their precision, this combination should perform well. The training regime by Ciaron Maher has been rigorous, and this horse is ready to show its potential. This horse could pop up for a place at nice odds.
