GET ON - #8 Need Some Luck
I think Need Some Luck has the strongest chance on the Saturday card. Strong last-start win, proving this runner is in great shape. Last time out, Need Some Luck competed over 1400m, placing 1st at Rosehill. Jumped from barrier 8, carried 58.5kg, and starting price of $5.00 odds. An awkward barrier, but with the right run, it’s still a winning chance. Tommy Berry will guide Need Some Luck and given their record, they’ll give the horse every chance to shine. With a good bloodline, I think this horse can give a good showing. Decent record when racing over this distance so I don't mind its chances. Capable of delivering a strong performance here.

THREAT - #9 Countyourblessings
Countyourblessings presents excellent value for those looking beyond the favourites. Came home outside the top four, showing competitive spirit but lacking consistency. Countyourblessings stepped out at Gold Coast on 17/01/2025, finishing 8th over 1300m. Raced on a good surface, carrying 55.5kg under Tommy Berry. Good enough in soft conditions, but faces some tough competition on Saturday. An ideal gate that could allow this horse to settle closer to the leaders early. With Kerrin McEvoy on board, expect a tactically astute ride this Saturday. This jockey always brings out the best in their horse. The attention to detail in John O'Shea & Tom Charlton's training methods makes Countyourblessings a contender. Each-way chance I reckon.

ROUGHIE - #6 City Of Lights
City Of Lights should be a dark horse in this race. She’s back from a spell and has won first-up twice before. She also likes soft track conditions and Randwick should be right up her alley.

GET ON - #3 Encap
I think Encap is an excellent best bet for Saturday and let me explain why. Produced a commendable third last start, keeping on strongly to the post. Last start performance, Encap came 3rd over 1600m at Randwick. Carried 51kg, guided by Reece Jones, and started at $51.00. A soft track debut, but everything points to a solid performance. A perfect draw that will allow him to settle into stride without burning too much energy. In the saddle will be Reece Jones on Saturday. They are a skilled jockey that I have full confidence in. Under the watchful eye of G Portelli, Encap has shown a lot of promise leading up to this race. Yet to crack it at this track (Randwick) - will this race be the one? One for the multiples, don’t leave it out.

THREAT - #6 New Endeavour
I think New Endeavour is flying under the radar and could deliver at juicy odds. Finished a close second last race, right on the winner’s heels. New Endeavour competed at Rosehill over 1500m, finishing 2nd. Jumped from barrier 1, carried 56kg, and was ridden by Rachel King. A tricky starting spot, but plenty of good horses win from out there. At this stage, Tim Clark is listed to ride him on Saturday. They should settle nicely into this race. This runner comes from the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Stable. The distance is a bit of a query as it hasn't won before over 2000m, but this could be the race. No wins at Randwick yet, but this could be the day New Endeavour turns things around. Has never raced on soft before, but has the right attributes to excel. One to respect, has the ability to surprise.

ROUGHIE - #2 Bois D'argent
Bois D'argent is usually an unpredictable runner that can spring a surprise result. Missed the top four in his last run but showed enough to suggest a stronger performance is near. Last outing, Bois D'argent took on a 2000m race at Rosehill and finished 6th. Carried 58kg, started at $16.00, and handled a heavy surface. Performs well enough on soft tracks to be a genuine contender. Has experience on soft tracks, with a career 50% win percentage and a 90% place percentage. Has the speed to make use of an outside barrier. With Ethan Brown on board, expect a tactically astute ride this Saturday. This jockey always brings out the best in their horse. Trainer Annabel Neasham is confident that he can run well. Ready to make a move late in the race.

Randwick - Race 7 (1600m)

GET ON - #7 Within The Law
I believe that Within The Law will get strong support and will be my prime Saturday bet of the day. Chased hard to secure third last time out, proving determination. The barrier draw looks great for this runner, she will start in the 3 Barrier. Kerrin McEvoy brings solid experience to the saddle this Saturday, and their timing in races has earned them plenty of respect. This runner has been expertly prepared by Bjorn Baker, known for bringing out the best in their horses. At this track, the record is positive. Familiarity with the Randwick track should give her an advantage. At this venue, has a career record of 2-1-1, including 2 victories. Wins as often as it loses, so always a threat. Looks well placed to make an impact.

THREAT - #3 Buffalo
Buffalo could be overlooked by some, so that offers strong value for Saturday’s races. A competitive third-place effort last start, proving reliable. Buffalo raced recently, placing 3rd in a 1400m event at Randwick. Jockey Zac Purton guided the runner, carrying 56.5kg. Started at $18.00 odds. Hasn’t encountered soft going yet, but there’s every reason to be optimistic. Drawn ideally to stay out of trouble and position up nicely. Connections will get to witness their horse racing with Jason Collett in the saddle on Saturday. This jockey has plenty of wins under their belt. Buffalo has been fine-tuned by D I Atkins for this race, and I expect a strong performance. Track record isn’t inspiring, but anything can happen at Randwick on Saturday. Looks primed for a big effort.

ROUGHIE - #8 Bellazaine
Bellazaine could shake things up if it runs to its best. Didn’t place in the top four, but certain aspects of the run suggested improvement is coming. Last start, Bellazaine finished in the placings over 1400m at Randwick on 05/04/2025. Carried 54.5kg under Tim Clark, started at $11.00. Track rated good. Drawn well in a barrier that should provide a good run. At this stage, Tim Clark is listed to ride her on Saturday. They should settle nicely into this race. Trainer Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott has carefully prepared Bellazaine for this event, and I believe she will give a strong account of itself. Track form is hit-or-miss, but capable on its best day and I think the Randwick conditions suit. If it gets a clean run, watch out!
