GET ON - #4 Damien

I think Damien has the strongest chance on the Saturday card. Won convincingly in its most recent outing. Damien competed at Doomben over 1200m, finishing 1st. Jumped from barrier 4, carried 59kg, and was ridden by Alana Mallyon. If it can slot in without using too much energy, the draw won’t be an issue. On board Damien will be Tommy Berry, one of my favourite jockeys to bet on. Has been trained by Kris Lees and comes off some trial runs. Knows how to handle some cut in the ground, so expect a fair showing. Wins as often as it loses, so always a threat. Could hit the line hard, watch for it late.

THREAT - #10 Isti Star

I think Isti Star is flying under the radar and could deliver at juicy odds. Showed great turn of foot to claim victory last race. Isti Star ran at Gold Coast on 23/05/2025, finishing 1st in a 1000m event. Jockey Michael Rodd was aboard, carrying 55kg. Track was rated soft. A favourable draw should ensure she gets an economical run. On Saturday, Michael Rodd will be guiding Isti Star. Known for their precision, this combination should perform well. The training regime by P L Shailer has been rigorous, and this horse is ready to show its potential. Untried at this trip but I think it will enjoy it. Despite no wins yet at Eagle Farm, Isti Star has had some solid performances here. Reliable performer with a respectable strike rate. Could be in the mix if it finds its stride.

ROUGHIE - #12 Hi Barbie

Hi Barbie is worth considering for those looking to back an underdog. Missed the top four in her last run but showed enough to suggest a stronger performance is near. Soft track debut, but no reason to doubt. A good draw too, gets to run from the 3 Barrier. On Saturday, Kerrin McEvoy will get to ride this one. A strong run between these two will be key. Hi Barbie, under the guidance of Tony Gollan, has shown great potential in recent workouts. Winless over 1200m so far, but could improve in the track conditions. No wins at Eagle Farm yet, but this could be the day Hi Barbie turns things around. Could be a surprise package.

GET ON - #1 Cool Archie

Cool Archie is expected to deliver on Saturday, let's talk about his form. Placed in the top three in its last three starts, Cool Archie is proving to be a consistent contender. On 31/05/2025, Cool Archie lined up at Eagle Farm, finishing 1st over 1400m. Backed at $7.00, jumped from barrier 10, and carried 57kg under Martin Harley. Has the speed to make use of an outside barrier. With Martin Harley on board, expect a tactically astute ride this Saturday. This jockey always brings out the best in their horse. Under the watchful eye of Chris & Corey Munce, Cool Archie has shown a lot of promise leading up to this race. Track stats: 2-1-0, with a win rate of 50% and place rate of 75%. Winning is familiar to this horse, but not guaranteed. If the race plays out right, it’ll be there at the finish.

THREAT - #10 Navy Pilot

Navy Pilot is expected to outperform market expectations, making it a strong value play. Claimed third place last start, running on well to the line. Could need some luck from this gate, but stranger things have happened. Jockey Ryan Maloney will ride this runner. This jockey is known for his ability to time the run perfectly. Coming from the trusted hands of Ciaron Maher, expect this horse to perform at a high level. Navy Pilot has been competitive here, and with a solid record, another top run isn’t out of the question. I like the way it’s been going lately.

ROUGHIE - #6 Aerodrome

Aerodrome could shake things up if it runs to its best. Finished outside the top four in his last race but had moments that hinted at better performances ahead. Aerodrome stepped out at Eagle Farm on 31/05/2025, finishing 7th over 1400m. Raced on a heavy surface, carrying 57kg under Regan Bayliss. Not the perfect draw, but race-day tactics will be key. A great combination of experience and skill, Regan Bayliss is more than capable of guiding Aerodrome to a top finish. With the experience and training of Michael Freedman, Aerodrome has everything it needs to succeed. Hasn’t won at Eagle Farm yet, but might be ready to change that. One to watch, could put in a career-best effort.

GET ON - #7 War Machine

Coming into this race, I like the look of War Machine, likely the one to beat in Saturday’s race. He has placed in three consecutive races and will look to continue the momentum. War Machine raced at Doomben last start, covering 1350m and finishing 1st. Carried 56.5kg with Blake Shinn aboard. Track was good. An outside draw means he may have to do more work early to get across. Tim Clark brings solid experience to the saddle this Saturday, and their timing in races has earned them plenty of respect. War Machine is a product of Ben, Will & JD Hayes's exceptional training, and the results should speak for themselves. If it gets a clean run, watch out!

THREAT - #1 Private Eye

Private Eye is a solid chance at good odds, here is why. Firstly, he has shown his ability at this track already, winning once before and placing as well in 4 starts. Nash Rawiller gets the ride and these two have been good together previously. They have 2 wins in 9 starts and should enjoy running fresh. He loves running first-up with 4 wins in its career and has trialled well before Saturday’s start.

ROUGHIE - #14 The Instructor

The Instructor is one to watch at long odds – don’t underestimate its chances. Proved too strong in the previous race. The Instructor competed at Scone over 1300m, finishing 1st. Jumped from barrier 15, carried 56kg, and was ridden by Adam Hyeronimus. The barrier draw looks ideal for this runner, it usually likes a wide run. Expect Jett Stanley to be in control this Saturday. Their experience and race craft make them a strong contender for the win. Trained under the expert eye of Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, expect nothing less than top performance from The Instructor. Has won at this distance of 1400m before but doesn’t do it often. Despite no wins yet at Eagle Farm, The Instructor has had some solid performances here. Expect a strong finish from this one.

Here is my Saturday multi at Eagle Farm. Damien is a tough competitor who secured the win in the last start. Cool Archie has the best track record in Race 6 and has placed in the top three in its last three starts. War Machine rates highly in Race 8.
