I think Alalcance is an excellent best bet for Saturday and let me explain why. With three consecutive placings, Alalcance has shown its ability to stay competitive. Last start performance, Alalcance came 1st over 2600m at Randwick. Carried 56.5kg, guided by Tim Clark, and started at $2.70. A tough draw but has the ability to handle it. Tim Clark is in the saddle and in decent racing form. This should be a dangerous combo. Alalcance is a product of Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott's exceptional training, and the results should speak for themselves. Competitive at this track, placing in 3 of 3 starts, with 2 wins. Tends to hit the mark just as often as it misses. Has managed a win in these conditions previously, but will need to improve.

THREAT - #15 Birdman
Punters searching for value should take a close look at Birdman. Showed plenty of heart last start, finishing a credible second. Birdman raced at Randwick last start, covering 2600m and finishing 2nd. Carried 53kg with Jamie Melham aboard. Track was soft. A perfect barrier for this horse’s running style. In top form this Saturday, Zac Lloyd has a knack for getting the best out of their horses. Could be another winning run. Having been trained by Chris Waller, Birdman comes into this race well-prepared and confident. One to keep on side, has a real chance.

ROUGHIE - #13 Mostly Cloudy
If you’re looking for a roughie, Mostly Cloudy has some upside. A tenacious third last race, showing plenty of grit. Last outing, Mostly Cloudy took on a 2600m race at Flemington and finished 3rd. Carried 56kg, started at $7.00, and handled a good surface. He has the ability to overcome a tricky gate with a well-timed run. Connections will get to watch their horse run around with Braith Nock in the saddle on Saturday. This jockey has plenty of wins under their belt. Mostly Cloudy, trained by the capable T Busuttin & N Young, is sure to be a strong competitor on Saturday. One win from a few tries at this 3200m trip. Hasn’t won at Randwick yet, but might be ready to change that. A dark horse in this race, could cause an upset.

GET ON - #12 Via Sistina
I believe that Via Sistina will get strong support and will be my prime Saturday bet of the day. Dominated the field last start for a well-deserved win. A favourable barrier that could give her the chance to stay out of traffic and find clear running. In the saddle will be James McDonald on Saturday. They are a skilled jockey that I have full confidence in. The training regime by Chris Waller has been rigorous, and this horse is ready to show its potential. Has had some good results at Randwick, so she has the ability to perform well again. Has experience at this track, with a 50% win percentage and 4 placings. Go well again.

THREAT - #1 Dubai Honour
Dubai Honour could be overlooked by some, so that offers strong value for Saturday’s races. Dubai Honour has demonstrated remarkable consistency, placing in three straight races. Last start, Dubai Honour finished in the placings over 2400m at Rosehill on 01/04/2025. Carried 59kg under Tom Marquand, started at $3.20. Track rated soft. The barrier draw looks ideal for this runner, it usually likes a wide run. At this stage, Tom Marquand is listed to ride him on Saturday. They should settle nicely into this race. Trained by W J Haggas. This track is a favourite of Dubai Honour, and with a perfect record, it’s hard to see anything stopping him.

ROUGHIE - #6 Vauban
I think you should have your eyes on this outsider, here is why. A competitive third-place effort last start, proving reliable. Last time out, Vauban competed over 2400m, placing 3rd at Rosehill. Jumped from barrier 2, carried 59kg, and starting price of $3.10 odds. Consistent on soft ground, expect another competitive showing. Has experience on soft tracks, with a career 50% win percentage and a 83.3% place percentage. A wide gate should allow to settle where comfortable and conserve energy. Jockey Tim Clark will be in the saddle this Saturday. Has a great winning strike rate. Coming from the trusted hands of Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, expect this horse to perform at a high level. Never beaten over this trip 2000m - hard to look past it. A real shot!

GET ON - #1 Fangirl
Fangirl is expected to deliver on Saturday, let's talk about her form. This runner fought all the way to the line for second place last time. Fangirl competed at Rosehill over 1500m, finishing 2nd. Jumped from barrier 9, carried 57kg, and was ridden by James McDonald. Landing in this barrier could give her a dream passage through the race. This Saturday, James McDonald will be in the saddle and ready for a win. This race looks suitable for this tactical rider. Chris Waller is known for nurturing talented horses, and Fangirl has certainly benefited from their expertise. Track stats: 7-4-3, with a win rate of 35% and place rate of 70%. If conditions suit, it’s a big player in this.

THREAT - #2 Stefi Magnetica
Stefi Magnetica is expected to outperform market expectations, making it a strong value play. Backed up strong form with a well-earned last-start win. Stefi Magnetica stepped out at Randwick on 05/04/2025, finishing 1st over 1600m. Raced on a good surface, carrying 54.5kg under Jason Collett. Starting from the 4 Barrier should give this runner every chance to perform well. Trainer Bjorn Baker is confident that she can run well. Handles this distance of 1600m well, no surprise to see it fighting out the finish. A sneaky chance.

ROUGHIE - #12 Lazzura
Lazzura should be a dark horse in this race. Lazzura has been a consistent performer, placing in three consecutive races without fail. Last outing, Lazzura took on a 1500m race at Rosehill and finished 2nd. Carried 55kg, started at $2.50, and handled a heavy surface. Has won from similar barriers before, so should be fine. This Saturday, Tommy Berry will be in the saddle and ready for a win. This race looks suitable for this tactical rider. Trainer Chris Waller has given her the all clear to run on Saturday. Yet to win at this trip (1600m) - will need to prove itself. I think it will. Winless at Randwick - needs to lift to turn that around, this could be her race to do it. Handles this soft track rating perfectly - winning is just what it does. Has the ability to give this a shake.
