My confidence is high in this selection as the standout Saturday bet, here is why. Last race showed true class with a solid victory. A perfect barrier for this horse’s running style. Expect Harry Coffey to be in control this Saturday. Their experience and race craft make them a strong contender for the win. Duke De Sessa, under the guidance of Ciaron Maher, has shown great potential in recent workouts. Still searching for that first win at Flemington, but it’s certainly not out of the question. Should be in the mix when it matters most.

THREAT - #3 Middle Earth
Middle Earth is a well-priced contender with the ability to upset the field. He makes his Australian debut and doesn’t mind running after a spell. A well-positioned start could see him dictate the pace or sit just off the leaders. On Saturday, Mark Zahra will get to ride this one. A strong run between these two will be key. Trained under the expert eye of Ciaron Maher, expect nothing less than top performance from Middle Earth. Hasn’t cracked this distance yet, but has placed 2nd before. Solid on good tracks, winning 3 times from 6 runs. Worth a bet at odds, don’t overlook it.

ROUGHIE - #8 Shaiyhar
Shaiyhar is one to watch at long odds – don’t underestimate its chances. Bringing good momentum from an excellent last start performance. Shaiyhar competed at Caulfield over 2000m, finishing 3rd. Jumped from barrier 8, carried 54kg, and was ridden by Craig Williams. Has the speed to make use of an outside barrier. This runner has been expertly prepared by T Busuttin & N Young, known for bringing out the best in their horses. Has experience at this track, with a 37.5% win percentage and 4 placings. Not to be overlooked, this one’s got form.

Coming into this race, I like the look of Another Wil, likely the one to beat in Saturday’s race. Showed class and determination to win last race. Last outing, Another Wil took on a 1400m race at Caulfield and finished 1st. Carried 59kg, started at $3.30, and handled a good surface. A well-drawn runner that should get every chance in transit. At this stage, Jamie Melham is listed to ride his on Saturday. They should settle nicely into this race. The attention to detail in Ciaron Maher's training methods makes Another Wil a contender. Handles this distance of 1600m well, no surprise to see it fighting out the finish. Has experience at this distance, with 3 wins in 6 starts. He thrives on this track - a real specialist here, always delivering. Track stats: 2-0-0, with a win rate of 100% and place rate of 100%. Shaping up as a live chance, expect a bold showing.

THREAT - #1 Mr Brightside
Mr Brightside is a solid chance at good odds, here is why. Proved too strong in the previous race. Mr Brightside raced at Caulfield, covering 1400m and finishing 1st. Carried 59kg with Craig Williams aboard. Track was good. Looks well-positioned in the 5 Barrier to take advantage of the race pace. Craig Williams has the skills and race intelligence to make a big impact on Saturday. Looking forward to their performance. Trainer Ben, Will & JD Hayes has carefully prepared Mr Brightside for this event, and I believe he will give a strong account of itself. At this track, holds a record of 4-1-2, with 4 wins. I think it will run well.

ROUGHIE - #6 Rise At Dawn
At a big price, Rise At Dawn could deliver a shock result. Emerged victorious in the previous race, looking sharp once more. Last start performance, Rise At Dawn placed 1st over 1400m at Flemington. Carried 55.5kg, guided by Michael Dee, and started at $4.40. Has the speed to make use of an inside barrier. Mark Zahra will guide Rise At Dawn and given their record, they’ll give the horse every chance to shine. Rise At Dawn is a product of Ben, Will & JD Hayes's exceptional training, and the results should speak for themselves. Proven performer at this venue, recording 3 wins and 5 placings from 5 starts. Treasurethe Moment is carrying high expectations but I think it can deliver. Eased to victory in its previous race. Treasurethe Moment raced recently, placing 1st in a 1400m event at Caulfield. Jockey Damian Lane guided the runner, carrying 59.5kg. Started at $2.70 odds. Will need to navigate across from the outside, but it’s still in the mix. With Damian Lane on board, expect a tactically astute ride this Saturday. This jockey always brings out the best in their horse. With a nice bloodline, I think this horse can show us what she is made of. Every time it’s lined up at this trip of 1600m, it’s delivered - big danger again. This track is a favourite of Treasurethe Moment, and with a perfect record, it’s hard to see anything stopping her. Solid record at this track, winning 2 times from 2 runs. Proven performer with a strong career record. One to keep on side, has a real chance.

THREAT - #6 Cilacap
I believe that Cilacap represents great value in the betting markets and could surprise. Won well last start and remains a top contender. Cilacap lined up at Flemington, finishing 1st over 1400m. A tricky gate, but not a deal-breaker for a horse with this ability. There’s no doubt that Craig Williams is the right person for the job this Saturday. With a solid record, they’ll play a major role. Cilacap presents from the prestigious G M Begg Stable. Good track record makes this one worth considering for another top finish. Knows how to get the job done and does it often. Wouldn’t be surprised if it finishes close.

ROUGHIE - #5 Sneaky Sunrise
Sneaky Sunrise is a roughie with the potential to surprise at big odds. Sneaky Sunrise stepped out at Flemington, finishing 3rd over 1400m. Raced on a soft surface, carrying 56kg under Daniel Stackhouse. This horse has previously performed well from similar barriers, making this an ideal setup. In the saddle will be Daniel Stackhouse on Saturday. They are a skilled jockey that I have full confidence in. Sneaky Sunrise has been under the guidance of Ben, Will & JD Hayes. Yet to win at this trip (1600m) - will need to prove itself. I think it will. Solid record at this track, winning 2 times from 5 runs. I like the way it’s been going lately.
